Beef and Broccoli

Literally 2 pieces of beef in the beef and broccoli. Don't waste your money ordering delivery.

First of all it only took 5 mins to get a worker to help me order my food and another 5 mins for me to pay for the food I ordered. Every worker there was running around if you seen a headless chicken cleaning not helping 3 families in line ! That's ridiculous!!! My food was cold from the worker opening the food and not reading what is on the box at first smh ... It's really BAD ! Then she had no gloves on like wtf you just came from cleaning the floor and come in kitchen and look at boxes in line that you haven't checked out at first and then had the nerve to open them and suddenly walk away to go ask your manager a question. The food was terrible my noodles weren't even cooked and was cold because no one knows how to read what their co-worker has put on box. Not recommend at all! Shut it down !!!!

Chow mein, fried rice, broccoli beef and orange chicken

Dinner last night~ alternative to Taco Bell or burgers. Ummm... the egg rolls were really amazing! Their orange chicken was pretty good, too. Noodles were ok, but their rice was really dry. The green bean chicken was really, really spicy, as was their kung pao chicken. I'd definitely go back for their egg rolls and orange chicken (maybe their noodles) but hold the rest : /

We stopped by here the other night to get dinner to go. We were greeted by the staff upon walking…read moreup to the order here sign and started with our order. We ordered a salad and a wrap. The ordering process was easy enough, but the next part was a little confusing. The clerk at the cash register mentioned that to wait and we'd be called when the order was ready. However, I was trying to figure out how I'd get my salad when I had the choice of salad bar items. My husband suggested I go up to the counter and show my ticket. The clerk from the cash register asked me if I wanted to get my salad and I said yes. She then asked me if I wanted romaine or spring mix. I opted for the spring mix and then commenced with my food options from the salad bar. Once I had finished with the salad, I then joined my husband in waiting for his wrap. There was a large party in front of us that we didn't realize we were waiting on for them to get their food first. I'd say in total we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant was clean and the staff were busy with ensuring that everything was fresh for the salad bar as well as cleaning up and stocking items (straws, napkins, etc.). They definitely were of the mind of keeping busy and not standing around idle. Once order was in hand, we took it back to the hotel and ate there. My salad was very good and my husband's wrap was also very filling and tasty. I'll definitely be coming back to this place in the future. The food is good and high quality. Just wish we had something like this back in Whittier, I think it'd be very popular.

Me and my friend got 2 poke bowls, mine with salmon tuna and crab, hers with crab tuna and shrimp…read more The tuna was an almost gelatin texture and gritty, and the salmon had severe damaging and discoloration and was nearly brown. The tuna had a faint taste of rotten citrus, and the salmon was fishy. Crab was OK. The woman at the cash register was super nice but the woman who served my friend was extremely rude and kept rolling her eyes at her when she asked a question about a topping because they have literally no menu or labels for what you're getting. We returned our food shortly after and they were very nice about it.

I travel to Nogales every so often, and when I finally arrive to visit friends, they know that the…read morevery first question out of my mouth is, "Is Cocina La Ley open today?" It's true. I've been going there for about 10 years, and without fail, their seafood is always consistently delicious. Although most of the locals are probably very aware of this small yet mighty restaurant, it's tucked away in an unassuming location - it doesn't look like much from the outside, but as they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I always order the large ceviche, which comes with tostadas, and I also get a side of warm tortillas. When I get that large bowl in front of me, I just can't wait to dig in. But first, I absolutely must put a couple of drizzles of their out-of-this-world made-in-house tamarind hot sauce on top of each bite. I can't begin to describe how amazing this sauce is - just a little sweet, but hot enough to burn your face off. What makes it amazing is it's flavor is so unique and complex. One time I visited, and I saw that there wasn't any hot sauce on the table. I asked the server and he said that they were in the middle of making a new batch. After telling him that I came all the way from Florida for their sauce (and ceviche, of course), the owner came by and sold me a couple of jars of the deliciousness. We had a great conversation about their food, their hot sauce, and how much love they put into their 30 year plus establishment. Back to the food - the shrimp in the ceviche is perfectly bite-sized and always tender, in perfect proportion to all of the other ingredients. The liquid is delicious enough to slurp up at the end of the bowl. I also started ordering the fried shrimp tacos the last few times I went to La Ley. A small plate comes with a simple warm tortilla and perfectly breaded fried 2-3 pieces of shrimp. Their sauces and toppings bar has everything you need to complete the taco - pickled onions, cilantro, tomatoes, onion, etc. With some of their creamy sauce and more of the tamarind hot sauce, each bite is a moment in heaven. Like the ceviche, the shrimp is tender, the breading is fluffy, not oily, and when you put together spicy, creamy, salty, sweet, and sour, you've got one of the most satisfying dishes I can think of. Clearly, I love this place. As I sit here writing this over a thousand miles away (having just visited), I wish I was back in Nogales to visit La Ley.

BUT oh god, this place is delicious!!!!!! The service is good, you have to order first at the cashier, and then seat. They also have this salsa bar where you can find the cilantro, diced onion, matcha salsas and other toppings.
