I'm guessing some of what I experienced both times this year may be a factor for others as well. Overall this is a nice locally owned restaurant. I like to support local business when I can. But what I encounter here prevents me from doing so often. The big issues are the elderly woman who seems to be the primary server as she appears to be here all of the times I've been here. She's abrupt, seems passive aggressive. I'm afraid to ask for what I want, such as no oil on my perfectly good green beans that they screw up by putting oil all over, with garlic. I just wanted healthy green beans, not oiled up ones. She seemed to be very bothered or get mad. Then the passive side cones out when she says the worn out server talk of wishing me a nice day when I pay the bill. Ironically their vegetarian menu item is three sides (veggie choices that they already have oiled up or you get steamed. Don't ask for the green beans without the oil, the server told me she doesn't know how the cook makes them, he just does it the way he does. Not exactly what I'd expect or want to hear. I'd expect an answer that would be something along the lines of asking the cook not to do the oil, just steam or cook in water instead. Nope, not here. Not a vegetarian or vegan friendly place at all. Too bad, since it's in an area of farms and likely has people shopping at farm stands who might stop for a bite too. The "haddock" looked and tasted more like flounder or tilapia to me (see pic). But it was good and baked without oil or butter as I asked. I asked for lemon and got two small slices. Not enough for the fish let alone for the two veggies, and the unsweetened ice tea i ordered as well. This place has promise and the food is mostly good but some more customer friendly changes should be made, including not being so skimpy on the lemon. I gave just 3 stars this year because the other 2 were when I had a much younger more accommodating server who made my meal eating a good experience unlike this and my last visit.

The salad is in a smaller bowl (less salad), the food i had is less tasty, seems like they are skimping on ingredients, quality and taste to keep the price as it was while food costs increased. I order only the stir fry and soup and sslad, not sushi. Food is overcooked for a simple stir fry, brown sauce tastes like it was burned (can one burn a sauce?) Veggies were very overcooked, whimpy not firm or semi firm. No wonder there was a noticeable drop in the number of people here for lunch after church on a Sunday. I can no longer highly recommend this establishment. It's gone from very good or great to YUCK in the 10 months I was deployed. Here's what sticks out to me that others may want to know-the egg rolls are tasteless mass produced tasting, the won tons are thick dough and rubbery. Hard to chew, but easy and likely best to spit out and never order again (I ordered them at least 6 times hoping it would get better, but it never did). Spareribs were ok but not much meat. The dishes were all swimming for their lives drowning in sauce and oil. Way too much sauce and oil. I suggest the other choices in the area including the small place I reviewed in the past which has better food, and even the nearby Panda Buffet which is a great atmosphere and very clean looking for dining in too.
