This is a very clean restaurant. Service was excellent, the wonton soup was very good, egg rolls seemed frozen, the pepper steak w/ onions was just ok. Seems like the sauce was out of a bottle. Probably, won't go here again! The food was cheep, I guess you get what you pay for! read more

We've just started going to this place for carry out. The wanton soup & fried jumbo shrimp appetizer are both excellent. I'm not so keen on the general Tso chicken, but my husband liked it. Ordering & picking up have gone smoothly. read more

I got a Happy Family for takeout. The menu photo online shows that it includes scallops (none were included, why?). Sauce was flavorful. My main concern was overcooking. All the seafood was overcooked. Especially the one piece of lobster in the dish that was included. I was so excited to have it on my plate but it was almost inedible it was so chewy. Shrimp were overcooked also, but they are a bit more forgiving. I would recommend that they time their cooking a bit more carefully--not everything can be thrown in together. You shouldn't undercook seafood, but overcooking it kills it. Beef, pork, and chicken were good. Veggies were crisp and fresh, very nice. I would still try again. But please try to not overcook your seafood. I'd try again, but if they can't fix their seafood cooking, I'll limit to chicken and vegetables. read more

I'm used to get outstanding Chinese food from questionable looking establishments. However, the restaurant is a well maintained, clean, cheery looking environment...like grandma's house. It's inside a strip mall that is a few yards from the local Walmart. Everyone in town raves about this place, everyone. A friend and I stopped in for lunch (both she and I are new to the area). The prices were very reasonable, literally our lunch totaled less than $11 together. Also, the young lady that took our order seemed really sweet. We decided to dine in, so we placed our order and took a seat. There was an elderly couple eating; when they left they told us we were in for a treat. So now...I'm excited. I ordered shrimp fried rice to keep it simple. My friend ordered general tso chicken. As soon as the dishes hit the table, I knew I had ordered the wrong dish. How can fried rice be wrong...no egg, no onion, no bean sprouts, and it was pale pale pale brown. I tasted it and the rice did not taste fresh. I thought my dining partner probably fared better. Her food looked really good. She didn't complain, however, she spent our entire conversation kinda pushing the food around her plate. Alas, I ate the shrimp out of my fried rice and we left some very full plates behind. This place is not for me. I know it's my own fault and my choices, but after my experiences the last few days, I'll be eating at home for the rest of the weekend! read more

One star for efficient, friendly service ONLY. One does not expect fine cuisine from a Chinese takeout, but even my lowered expectations weren't close to being met. I have just finished 1/4 of my "meal" of General Tso's Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and Eggroll. I might expect ONE of these items to be sub-par, however all three were inedible! All items were clearly leftovers. The chicken's breading was mealy and flaccid - it tasted like they ran out of sauce and used spaghetti sauce to finish the recipe. Truly FOUL. The rice was overcooked and lacking in flavor. No bean sprouts, no fresh onion - the texture was like Malt-O-Meal - neither salt nor soy made a difference. Alright, I thought; clearly, they can't screw up an egg roll and I can fill up in that. NOPE! The egg roll wrapper was too thick and difficult to chew. Zero flavor and greasier than your average egg roll. I rarely write reviews and almost never a bad one, but this place needs to wake up, get their heads out of their arses, and remember to feed the customer FRESH, flavorful food, not cobbled-together leftovers. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese carry out places. The food is amazing! It's always fresh, and hot when I get it. I've tried a lot of their dishes but the curry shrimp is my favorite! It comes as a combination platter with fried rice and an egg roll ( pork). It's very flavorful, and well proportioned! I definitely recommend going here, if your a local, or even if your not local, but looking for exceptional Chinese food. I love Chinese food. Correction, I love East Coast Chinese food. This place has such delicious food! It's so unassuming but packs a delicious punch! After living in California for a few years, I crave being able to come back to good ol' China Garden in Chambersburg, PA and enjoy (what I believe to be) the best Chinese food in town! This is the local secrete for any one who is visiting or passing through. The prices are average for the area but the quality and quantity are what sets this place apart from the rest. Some people see the bigger and flashy restaurants and assume they are the best. This place is located in a small strip mall next to wal mart. Kinda the definition of hole in the wall. What I love the most about is this place is their willingness to cater to your taste. I like spicy more than sweet and asked for that in the General Tso sauce. I was not disappointed as they altered the standard just for me. This is my regular spot when it comes to Chinese food in the area. read more

This Chinese restaurant is the best in the Chambersburg , Shippensburg , Waynesboro area for sure . Ive tried them all , and I grew up next to Chinatown in Washington D.C. The Wonton soup is to die for . So fresh , rich , and yummy ! The chef is an old Chinese master because anyone who can get cuts of boneless pork so tender and flavorful has skills . The Lo Mein is always fresh with good size shrimp , pork , chicken , and the noodles are perfect. Every time I come to visit my family and we get Chinese .. its here .
