I could write a book about those two hours we spent at the Denny's in East Lansing. The place was not busy in the least with perhaps 5 tables occupied at 6pm on a Saturday the 17th of October. We started off with a 15 minute wait to even get a waitress to offer menus and water. It was OBVIOUS the woman that was supposed to be our waitress was not having a great day so we were very understanding and even told her it was okay if things took a few extra minutes. Well, an hour later our food arrived and the order was not correct. I asked in a very polite way if we could get the order of eggs made right for my wife and the waitress replied with a nasty glance and a "I guessi could do that"? Like she was waiting for us to rethink that lol. Well, 20 minutes later the scrambled eggs arrive. Still missing our toasts and no more water/coffee for us or drinks of any kind for that matter. We had asked for the check three times to never receive the check. Finally we went to the counter and asked again. Our daughter finally said something to the girl at the counter. The whole thing was a fiasco. We sat there and watched two separate fathers (I assume a father anyhow) each with two kids. Leave the restaurant because the waitress (the only way I can describe her is dyed red hair and not the orange redhead type). She was a brutal hot mess turned these fathers away and two other couples had left without service while we were there. Next came the verbal confrontation with this "waitress". As she started to be loud with our daughter. I stepped to the counter and told her she was the worst waitress we'd ever come across. Her reply "do I look like I care". My reply was just as simple "clearly you do not. Have you looked in a mirror". She didn't like that much lol. She almost acted like she was going to square up with me lol. Finally, a reasonable person came up (the guy cooking was apparently the manager. A bald dude and a decent calm guy). The waitress then said she wanted us out of "her" place lol. I obliged her. Oh, the eggs that we all had ended having shells in them, the hash browns were burned black. No water other than the first. The bacon was fine as were the pancakes. Also, the waitress was obnoxious with the one father stating "come back tmrw they will make you whatever you want" and "I don't bring my kids here the prices are to high". 3-4 separate customer groups asked for the manager and at one point the waitress with the red hair claimed she was the manager and training the guy on the grill. Long story yes. Lessons were learned. Never again to go to Denny's. It had been at least 15 years since I had been to one and it'll be no less than 15 more before I ever see the inside of one of these stores again and that's only if I have to download a brown load.
