Simply AMAZING! Wow, we were totally taken by surprise when we got our food. It is a food truck so you don't have seating but the stop will be a must for us from now on. The "service" is just when ordering and when you get your food but the guy is so nice when ordering. Gives me a feeling of humbleness. The ambiance is a parking lot and your car. You could bring lawn chairs and sit outside as there is plenty of room around the truck after you get your food. The tacos were delicious with plenty of flavor and the meats were juicy and tender. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. The corn tortillas were soft and tender. The breakfast burrito was so delicious and super filling. You are not going to be disappointed. On two separate visits I enjoyed the 3 Taco Combo lunch. Tacos were made with twin soft street taco type shells; Very tasty. The creamy green sauce is the absolute best. The burritos used to be such an incredible meal. Delicious and generous proportions. Then within the last year, along with a couple new faces making the burritos, the quality immediately declined. The burritos are about 3/4 of the size they had previously been. The proportions of ingredients are off now, less meat, they're wrapped poorly, etc. Just an overall lower quality burrito. Good quality UNIQUE food venues are uncommon so it's been great eating here every other week over the years, but since around last summer after giving them a few chances with the new staff, it's not worth it any more. So disappointing because I'm sure the person that originally made it so special is still around, but unaware of the decline in quality and it won't take long for the once loyal customer base to dissolve. This review the s for Pancho's, the restaurant. Don't get me wrong - the food truck is fabulous but now they have a sit down restaurant also. It is located on Elmwood near the Lansing Mall. The restaurant has a more extensive menu than the food truck. I ordered the Pollo ala Mexicana and was not disappointed. It was chunks of chicken breast sautéed with onion, peppers and tomatoes. My friends and I visited for the first time a few weeks ago. Among us we had quite a few varieties of tacos, a burrito, beans, rice and chips with salsa. We were all so impressed that we actually placed a second order and got some tamales. The tamales were my least favorite but my shredded beef tacos were absolutely delicious. Excellent authentic Mexican food! Food truck is in a parking lot behind another business with plenty of parking. I had three tacos, Pastor and Barbacoa. Both great but the Barbacoa was out of this world! Made fresh to order so you may have to wait depending on how busy but worth it. I had mine made traditional but they do have American option. The hot sauce was really hot and even made me sweat a bit, but had really great flavor and went well on both my burrito and side of rice and beans. They advertise as being open until 8pm... I just drove 33 miles one way specifically to go only here... it was the only reason I left my house! I arrived at the open window at 7:52 pm and was told by Carlos he was now closed, that it was too hot. Too hot, yet he'd been open all day, but too hot for another 10 minutes? That's incredibly poor customer service... I was a good customer since their first days and they just lost me. There's other places that deserve my money more. Finally made a stop at Pancho's for lunch. I ordered two gorditas and two tacos, one with pastor and rest with steak. A bit under $8 for all of it, and I was pretty satisfied with a full belly. Overall, I really enjoyed eating them hot off the grill. The flavor was excellent though lacking in any heat. Pancho's hot sauce took care of that aspect for me. The ratio of ingredients was spot on in my opinion. Nice quantity of meat on each item. Service was good though there is a little wait in that everything is cooked to order. No biggie because it was very hot and fresh when I got it, whereupon I sat in my car and slammed it in my face. I've been here several times and always had good service and good to excellent food. You can wait for food in your car or go inside Sanctuary Spirits, which is what I normally do. They don't put any pressure to buy anything and you can sit and eat. I normally buy a diet cola or something. They charge $1 for soft drinks, Water is free. Some good beers made here! But the real treat is the Mexican food and the great flavors. read more

Before I ever tried Pancho's I would have told you that I don't really care for mexican food. Pancho's has changed all that. Now I literally CRAVE their food. And it's not just me - my son begs for it and the others I have introduced it to feel the same way. My absolute favorite is the Tostado with steak - 3 seems to be the perfect number for one person. My son loves the chicken taco (all are soft shell, btw) and the chips and salsa are also excellent (though I supposed they could give you more salsa if I had to find ONE flaw). Tip: Call your order in first, then you don't have to wait outside if it's cold/rainy out. I sure do hope these guys last cuz we sure do LOVE THEM! read more
