Chicken Quesadilla with veggies and a side of Chips and Queso.
Sophia S.

This place has very similar vibes to Chipotle. I ordered online this time, but I dined in before. The food is always delicious and well priced. It kind of feels like a fast food restaurant when you eat there, so I enjoy eating at home. Good food, nice staff, not my favorite atmosphere. Still recommend Review by Sophia @TastyBitesbySophia on instagram!

I will start off by saying that the first time I had this place I was in CT playing a show with my band and fell in love. I've had it now at MANY locations but stop at this one frequently due to it's close proximity to where my band practices. Everyone compares Moe's and Chipotle which is just plain wrong because Pancheros takes the cake! I'll start it off with the fact that Pancheros presses then grills each tortilla fresh which ends up creating a much tastier wrap than chipotle or Moe's could compare to. Whether you are getting tacos or a burrito your tortilla will be fresh and warm. Now ingredients. They have similar ones to both of these places but I genuinely enjoy their sauces and guacamole more. Still, choice of chicken, steak, or their tofusada (delicious spicy crumbles of flavor), rice, black or pinto beans, then a mix of peppers and onions, different sauces, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, queso, and sprinkle cheese. Side note on cross contamination! The employees seem to be great with cross contamination and I never feel sick like I can sometimes get with places like Moe's and ESPECIALLY Chipotle. Last three times I've eaten at chipotle I think they had cross contamination with their meat and made me super sick. (I haven't eaten chicken or red meat in over a decade and it does not react well with my stomach) Anyway! I divert from the main subject here! At the end they take two spoon like things and mix every ingredient together so the temperature and distribution of fillings and flavor are evenly distributed. THIS IS WHAT IS MISSING WITH ALL BURRITO PLACES. It is literally the best thing ever. Overall this chain is Great and I have yet to have a band experience. If you are looking for some high quality fast food Tex mex this is the place to go!

Pancheros salad (out of the box)

This is the third time in a row the portion size has been ridiculously small. The last time the employee gave me 1 mini scoop (a tablespoon) of chicken. I asked for a little more and he immediately said "that's extra". This time a different employee starts my salad off with enough lettuce to garnish a sandwich. I wish he had told me additional lettuce was extra, as (besides being hilarious) I would have walked out and enjoyed a decent lunch elsewhere. Unfortunately, he obliged. He continues to provide a toddlers worth of peppers, onions and cheese, and provided second helpings upon each of my exasperated requests. I've added a picture of this unusually large Pancheros salad pushed to one side of the bowl, which looks strikingly similar to half a chipotle salad. Three strikes you're out Pancho. Hope you enjoy your extra $0.25 of margin on your shrinking customer base.

Burrito was nothing but rice. Ordered salsa and guac and there was none of it. Never going here again. Absolutely awful.

The quesadilla is not good. It would be much better with more filling and a crispy outside. I do not recommend.

Being from Arizona, I eat quite a bit of Mexican food and do get some authentic eats since we are so close to Mexico. I was a little worried trying Mexican food in the east coast, but we were both really happy with the food we got here. The service was very friendly and the location was very clean. I appreciate the staff assisting with boxes as we definitely ordered more than we can eat as we wanted to try various items. It was great for leftovers and a midnight snack as I can get munchy at different times due to the time zone difference. I'd definitely return when visiting her and would recommend to anyone in the area if they want Mexican cuisine.

The one on the outside of the four was dry, but the other was good. If you don't like spicy, as I don't, avoid the peppers used for garnish. The refried beans were wetter than I expected, but I did like that some whole beans were stirred in. The bowl of street corn was my favorite bite of the meal. The texture of the guacamole was similar to the beans, with part of it wetter than expected, but also with chunks of tomato stirred in. I've never been fond of Mexican rice so can't comment on that.

Honestly, this surprised me at first but based on the limited seating available and the need to ensure success in such a difficult business I can appreciate it. Once you arrive it is a well kept and tastefully decorated two room restaurant with properly themed music playing at an enjoyable volume. Our server, Helena was very kind and extremely helpful guiding us through the unique options. Something that I noticed about Helena was her graceful interaction to remove and place things with care and patience. It stood out so much that I mentioned it to my wife. In today's constant hustle and bustle this was delightful. Now the food. Well, the flavors are very intentional and multi layered. The plating is purposeful and intriguing. And we loved everything. We started with some mock tails and will be bringing some tequila next time to add to them as it is a BYOB restaurant. The tuna ceviche special was outstanding in both its appearance and taste. The so many great flavors. The oyster mushrooms looked like they were actual oysters plucked from the sea. The light rice batter accompanied by a lemongrass sauce with a touch of cayenne at the end was very tasty. For main courses I had the sea bass with a miso broth and my wife had the short rib over risotto. The sea bass was probably one of the best cuts I have had and seared to perfection. I didn't let the delicious broth go to waste either. The short rib was also full of flavors and I immediately tasted cinnamon at the front. The risotto was good and plentiful. It was a great experience and a culinary delight with creative dishes that brought amazing flavors. I really enjoyed it.
