While in Puerto Vallarta, I stayed about 3 blocks away from this restaurant. If it wasn't for crazy rain I wouldn't have stubbled upon this neighborhood gem. House Sauvignon blanc was very good, but the pomodoro spaghetti is what really hit the spot. Tomato based sauce was a bit tiny bit on a sweet side, which I really enjoyed; but them shrimp!!! Perfectly cooked shrimp, slightly smokey, absolutely amazing! Garlic bread crispy on the outside but so buttery and garlicky on the inside. Staff was amazing as well, detail oriented, and friendly. Can't wait to come back!

Entrees Fettuccine Alfredo & Prosciutto Pizza ... AMAZING!!! Dessert GUAVA PIE!!! Sooooo impressed with the atmosphere, art, vibe, for a minute or two I completely forgot I was in my beloved Mexico!!! We got to meet the chef Cesar, originally from Vallarta himself!!! Pure magic!!!

We ventured…read moreout to La Capella the other night, and honestly, it wasn't just a meal; it was an entire experience, fantastic from the moment we arrived until we reluctantly left. First things first, the setting is straight out of a postcard. Picture this: you're perched high up, gazing out at this unbelievably beautiful, sparkling blue sea, with an old, quaint church adding character to the horizon. It's truly a dreamscape, especially as the sun begins its descent, painting the sky with the most incredible colors. Seriously, it's the kind of view that makes your jaw drop and your worries melt away. Pure, unadulterated magic! Our evening was made even more special by our fantastic waiter, Jarod. What a star! He was genuinely charming and incredibly attentive, always there right when we needed him without being intrusive. He kept everything running smoothly, offered great suggestions, and truly made us feel like royalty. His warmth and efficiency really elevated the whole vibe of the night. And then, the food... oh my goodness, the food! It was nothing short of culinary perfection. I couldn't resist ordering my beloved pork osso bucco again - it's become my absolute favorite there, and for good reason! It arrived unbelievably tender, practically melting in your mouth, and every bite was an explosion of rich, delectable flavors. Just as phenomenal as I remembered, if not better! Honestly, every single dish that graced our table was impeccably prepared and utterly delicious. Seriously, if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, you *must* put La Capella on your list. And here's my golden nugget of advice: make sure to grab an early reservation. Trust me, you absolutely do not want to miss that breathtaking sunset; it transforms an amazing dinner into an absolutely legendary one. Go on, treat yourself - you won't it.

I made reservations a few weeks in advance and we were able to sit on the terrace to enjoy the views. They had live violinists (three!!) that were playing, it was so romantic. I loved the violinists, they were all so nice and friendly. I got the guava martini which was good and I ordered the spageti bolognese, which was tender and flavorful. The dish was solid with a nice presentation. They also brought out complimentary olive bread with parmesan grated cheese which was really good. The food and drinks are pricey! For the 4 of us including drinks and dinner, it ended up being almost $70 per person. Service was just okay, our waiter was a little stern and we had to flag to get his attention a few times. I would definitely come here for a special occasion, for the beautiful view and ambience.

Of course the staff did it up in style with flickering lights and what sounded like fireworks . Which in turn scared the living daylights out of me. Those guys came over of course when I realized what was actually happening happening I was in tears laughing so hard. Those guys were so sweet we all had a great laugh about it. I noticed right away that the kitchen is tiny. It made me wonder how they manage to put out so much food. Service was standard. Nothing to complain about while we were sitting there, but the aftermath was a disaster. My partner and I both got extremely sick a few hours after leaving. It was pretty clearly food poisoning, likely salmonella based on the symptoms. It is very disappointing since so many people talk this place up. I will not be going back. Would really caution and avoid if older or immunocompromised.

This dish is so large, the steak is large enough to share between 4 people! Cooked to absolute perfection, this medium rare piece of heaven is a MUST! This restaurant is located on the 5th floor of the Paloma Del Mar hotel. Just take the elevator to the 4th floor and then it's a short walk up one flight of stairs to the entrance. A big selling point of this restaurant is its open air design with a full roof but open sides for amazing views of the town with the water being 5 short blocks away. This is a great place to experience sunset. In the middle of the floor plan is a full bar with all of the dining tables placed around it. There really isn't a bad seat but I got lucky and snagged a corner table facing the beach. It was a really nice setting. I ordered the Fragole salad for $195 mxn and the Rosa seafood pasta entree for $360 mxn. A nice bread basket arrived first with flavored whipped butter and delicious sliced bread. Then the Fragole was delivered and I was very happy with its taste and freshness. It had spinach and arugula along with chopped nuts, Parmesan, strawberries and cranberries in a mango flavored vinaigrette and was excellent! Finally the entree arrived in a bowl. The Rosa had fresh seafood with clams, shrimp and fish with pasta that I chose (penne) mixed in a pink cream sauce. I loved this dish. Tasty, flavorful and filling. I would order it again. Also the table service was very good. Come eat here for a very nice atmosphere, nice view (especially sunset), great food, very good service and reasonable prices. Reservations are recommended especially to experience sunset.
