This location is a short walk from Chapultepec, so after an afternoon at the Museo Nacional de Antropología I headed over for dinner. The reviews sounded pretty good, so I gave it a shot.
I ordered the Remy, which was a version of Mac and Cheese, as far as I could tell by the description. My Spanish isn't fantastic, but I looked up the words I didn't know. It was very dry, like some sort of pasta salad with nuts. Totally not what I was expecting, which is ok, but the saltiness was too overwhelming for me to even eat more than two bites. Maybe I'm sensitive to salt since I don't use it much, but seriously, if you don't like salty food, steer clear.
I also ordered the vegan hotdog. The reminded me of a US brand I can't recall at the moment, but it was good. I asked for it without sauerkraut, and it came out with it. It's fine, I scrapped some of it off, and it actually needed a little more flavor so it didn't hurt. I would have liked more mustard, but there was none on the table, and the waitress never checked on me. I'll never understand that, I know you're not being paid in tips, but maybe, just maybe, if you bother to ask how someone is doing when they are one or two tables in the whole restaurant, they may just tip you. I guess if you don't ask you don't have to do anything about it. I tipped her anyway. Habit I suppose.
The decor, well its trendy af. Upcycled doors on the ceiling, as table tops, etc. Old vintage couches as some seating. It was cool, even if overstated. I may come back and try something else next time. Right now though, food was average. Service was a slight but lower than average. Hate ding a vegan place, but I just wasn't impressed. read more
