Nice breakfast place with a number of options, from chilaquiles to waffles. The chilaquiles verdes have a bitter/sweet taste with an added spice that isn't overwhelming. I really want to say nice things. The place is well located, close to downtown Oaxaca, and has a nice indoor patio ideal for breakfast and brunch. The pastries are very good, from their own bakery, but its french style bread. So it breaks with Oaxaca's vibe of traditional food and ingredients. The menu items are generic. Not bad but nothing special. Its a safe place for tourist and not very adventurous people. If you want a break from loca flavors (cannot imagine a good reason for this), this place is a good spot. But again is like having breakfast at VIPS or TOKS. read more

We came for breakfast and enjoyed the strong coffee, selection of croissants and scones, and the variety of egg breakfasts. Coffee is very strong in small cups. Great choice for breakfast or brunch. The croissants are amazing, especially the cream cheese and blackberries or the ham and cheese. We loved sitting in the courtyard for brunch with our 2 year old, who loved everything we ordered, especially the fruit and yogurt plate, the chilaquiles (with organic eggs from happy chickens!), and the molletes. Worth the wait for sure. read more

It's ok. Don't expect anything great and you'll probably quite enjoy it. Good service, food comes out quickly, and they offer a large selection of pastries to start off (my favorite part of the meal). They have good espresso, and if you do come here I recommend getting ordering a horchata and a espresso double and mixing it, bomb! I order them Serrano and it was not good, but my girlfriend enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Overall you'll be just fine missing it, but if there's a wait at some of the better pricier places like Boulenc (there always seems to be) then it might be worth a stop by. read more

My fave breakfast and working place in el Centro. Lovely patio, decent wi fi, delectable cinnamon rolls (w/raisins!), and the most delicious hot horchata with cinnamon on top. YUM! I've also had the sunny side up egg with a local cheese on a bed of super creamy refried beans on a tortilla. The name of the dish is escaping me, but it was divine. read more

Do not leave without getting the waffles with the strawberry jam, I think I eat one of these every day. Everything else there is delicious, the eggs with him are specially good and the chilaquilles are great. It's a great atmosphere and staff where exceptionally forgiving of my poor Spanish. This place gets many European tourists and they have acclimated to treating customers better if they think they are European tourist. They treat non-anglos as second class customers. Read the other reviews complaining about service and you will see a lot of hispanic surnames. It is a common feature. Experienced the same second class service. The bread is pretty good and the coffee is okay but it is basically just an average US/European "hipster" coffee shop but with employees who will judge your "prospective tip" based on skin color and spoken language. Tip: Speak English in this place and you will get better service. read more

Delicious food in a great setting, but I found my omelette on toast to be a little pricey for the portion size, especially since it didn't come with anything else (no fruit, coffee, etc). We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table on a Sunday late morning. I had the croque madame and my husband the muffin en caballo. My croque was thick with cheese and satisfying. The hot chocolate was pretty good as well. My husband chose cochinita pibil for the protein on the open faced sandwich, the guacamole creamy. Eggs were done perfectly. All in all, a good, breakfast/brunch. I also bought some of their pastries for take home. After having a few bites, I think I prefer the Boulenc croissants. read more

The postres are delicious. However, the espresso drinks are really lacking. I ordered a cappuccino and got a very week latte. The espresso drinks at Boulenc are much much better. Also, the service at Pan Am was pretty bad. Lots of young wait staff standing around and talking to each other and the wait times are pretty slow. read more

The bread is fine, the service is okay, the chai is a little bland. But, most of all, they reject service animals (and I'm not talking about emotional support animals). I have a hearing and balance dog and was kicked out for bringing him onto the property. So, I will be giving my business to places like Cafe Brujula. read more
