We visited Chepiche Cafe during our stay in Oaxaca. We heard great things about this spot. Although the food was delicious, the service was a bit slow. When during brunch time where they offer mainly sandwiches and salads. Although dessert is served till 2:00 p.m. we were hoping to try some of the bigger dishes that are not available until dinner. They focus on using fresh and local ingredients from local vendors. Even though it's beautiful to sit outside, there are lots of trees with nuts that attracts squirrels out and they constantly drop Nutshells and leaves down to your food.
The food is delicious. We stayed at an Airbnb near by and ended up eating here every day for our week stay, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Every item we tried on the menu was great. The workers are very nice and attentive, and it's a lovely outdoor courtyard that is easy to relax in. Highly recommend.
This is the best cafe I've ever been to in Mexico City. They split the cafe into two sections (1. Like an outdoor brunch area, 2. A cafe area). I went back twice to try both areas and you can't go wrong with where you sit. Their chai latte was the best I've had and their food tasted very fresh.
Delicious only begins to describe how amazing this place was. On a girls trip to Oaxaca, this place was by far in my top 3 of places we had brunch at. The place itself is kind've obsolete, you blink you might miss it. The place itself is embedded into the neighborhood. The six of us ladies sat on the patio and all ordered different items to share. As far as drinks go, it ranged from iced coffees to delicious frappes. As an appetizer we all split avocado toast and hot cakes. Warm, delicious, and sweet are only a few words to describe how good the beginning of our meal was. To follow, the chilaquiles and huevos divorciados were absolutely amazing. The service, meals, and ambiance are only a handful of things that make this place wonderful. The experience was great and if I ever return I look forward to coming back to this establishment!
Amazing little outdoor breakfast spot with friendly staff, excellent food, and great prices. The best thing about this restaurant is you can stay there for as long as you want and the servers will never push you to get out or close the bill. They are very patient and attentive, and they're always in a good mood.
I had a list of restaurants and this was the last day breakfast pick. Boy if I had gone here on the first day I would definitely have went here every morning. It was a 20 minute walk from the zocalo and because we were catching a plane I didn't want to waste time so I took a 5 minute cab ride instead. The meals were so cheap I could have ordered 3 different things to try but I don't eat much. Make sure you go here with a big breakfast appetite. Keep in mind this is a breakfast place and it closes early. Everything we ordered was amazing. Hot chocolate, coffee, green juices, chilaquiles divorciados (green and red in the same plate). The service was amazing and she was kind enough to order us a cab back and told us the number of the taxi and when he was outside. Its beautiful outdoor seating with trees all over and every time I think of it I want to move to Oaxaca. Please visit this place on your next trip to Oaxaca.
I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is great, they have traditional Mexican dishes and some American breakfast staples. They also bake all their own bread and pastries which are all great. Delicious juices and coffee, very attentive friendly service, and affordable prices. It's also great choice as it's all outdoor in a beautiful courtyard/garden, and tables are well spaced apart.

An Oasis on the outskirts of Central Oaxaca City. It's definitely worth the walk! The Patio is a tropical haven from the heat. You have to try a few items on the menu and share plates. We ordered a few items and were completely satisfied with everything! The food tasted extremely fresh! Just look at the vibrant colors that cover the plates. The Toast Con Pina was a delicious way to finish breakfast, which was served with a side of fruit. I'm not going to describe the food here, because the pictures I was able to capture say it all. The color, the texture, the layers, the aroma...as they say, you eat with your eyes. You can sneak a peek at the ladies in the back making the bread from scratch in an open-space area that's hard to ignore. You are captivated by every inch of this place. The live music by a violinist, just "wow"!!! Oaxaca is represented well by this place! read more
Step off the sidewalk a few steps into a gated street to find this gorgeous courtyard restaurant. At 6pm, I had the place to myself. This hidden gem has a small but diverse menu of fresh and tasty dishes. It's mango season, so I jumped at the salad option. I could have had more jicama, but the salad is a nice change from the meat/tortilla/queso diet I've been on the last week and a half. Ceviche is a big deal in Oaxaca, and this is one of the best I've ever had. The coconut milk is an unexpected and refreshing twist that adds a depth of flavor to this delicious fish. I was also pleasantly surprised by the sauvignon blanc from Baja, California. This lovely Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and breakfast only on Sunday and Monday. Check the Google Maps listing for hours, that seems to match what's posted at the restaurant. And if you're wondering what a Chepiche is, it's a Mexican herb apparently similar to cilantro often used to season meats. That explains the very herb/vegetable forward menu. Reminds me a lot of California farm-to-fork cuisine. Great Playlist of extremely romantic soft rock/folk music in Spanish. I've been Shazamming almost every song! This is not my cheapest meal in Oaxaca by far, but sometimes self care looks like a date night for one. Thanks, Chepiche Cafe. You were just what I needed and more tonight. read more
In the search for Oaxacas best food places, we came across Chepiche Cafe in our searches. So we decided to give it a try. Trying to find the location was a tad bit difficult due to google maps but if you use another maps I'm sure you'll be able to find it. The location was lovely, appears like someones back yard filled with trees, plants and beautiful decor! Started off with the Chocolate coffee which was amazing and for breakfast we ordered, "La Santa" Two poached eggs, smothered with red chile morita sauce and accompanied by fried plantains and santa leaves. This dish is a must try for sure. Service was great and would recommend! read more

Great breakfast and lunch place. Large outdoor garden space as well as covered side area to avoid rain or too much sun. Occasional wild scream of a nearby feral cat makes you think you are in the jungle! Lol For lunch we had: Tocino, queso crema y chepiche $65 (bacon on cream cheese open faced sandwich with chives & a delicious side order of salad) US$3.25; my husband had Huevo quesillo aquacate y pico de gallo $75 (Fried egg with avocado, cream cheese & finely chopped, spicy onions, tomatoes & medium hot green peppers). US $3.75- plus two delicious large lemonades Aqua de Limón $25 or (US $1.25 each). read more

I don't often review but this place gets 10 thumbs up and I will definitely be back. Oh, the staff if very friendly, professional and the service is great. read more
