This place was a favorite, so much so that within a 9 day period, we had breakfast here (or at the B&B when credit cards weren't accepted) 3 times and I got fresh pastries to go on a 4th morning. I had the Chilaquiles verde with eggs, the benedict and an omelet. The salads were very nice compliments and I got the potatoes once, which were also very good. The omelet was very buttery and was full of veggies and bacon. The Chilaquiles were tasty and crispy, and the benedict was done well too! We also had several of their assorted pastries with my favorite being the concha with cocoa. The cream filled croissant was quite tasty as well. I had the hot chocolate with milk 2x and on the last day I had the agua del dia. The servers are helpful and both spaces we went to were cozy. Pan am is a great place to eat breakfast and it's only opened for breakfast. I came here twice and thinking about coming back tomorrow. The restaurant has many good options for breakfast. The first time visiting pan am I ordered red chilaquiles with two over easy eggs and a piece of meat. The portions were big for the chilaquiles. The second time I ordered ham and eggs with a side of black beans. Both plates were very good. The staff is very nice and helpful while ordering. Our waiter answered all of our questions. If you're paying with Amex they unfortunately don't accept it here. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm. The service isn't rushed. read more

Wasn't bad, but I've had better. Love the vibes, the courtyard patio and they had good service. Seems to be very popular as there was wait even for a late brunch. They also have a connected shop for just grabbing a coffee or a bread to go. Had the green Chilaquiles with cheese and eggs. Chips didn't seem to be fried enough so it was all soggy with not much flavor. Eggs were ok. Orange juice was warm but good. We picked this place based on the good reviews. We are glad we did. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table on a Sunday morning. They do not take reservation so we strolled around the people selling their art nearby. Once seated we ordered coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. Both were very good. I ordered the half order waffle with one egg, bacon, and potatoes. Best bacon I have had in Mexico. Crispy and very tasty. The potatoes were a thicker sliced chip. Very good. My wife got the vegetable Benedict. Instead of bacon it had asparagus on an English muffin, egg with a nice thick hollandaise sauce. Fantastic breakfast place. Their specialty is the amazing chilaquiles that you have an option to order with various meats or eggs. However you cannot leave this place without tasting their magnificent chocolate croissants. This is the only location that I found thus far that serves lattes with either almond milk or coconut milk. Really liked this brunch spot during our stay in Oaxaca. It's one of the few places in Oaxaca where lots of locals and visitors both dine together. The shaded courtyard is lively during the morning even on a weekday. While you are here, be sure to try to the Oaxaqueno hot chocolate, a local specialty. I like mine with water. The brunch menu is fairly large so there are plenty to choose from. I ordered the Huervos al Horno and the Waffels, and really amazed just how fresh the ingredients were! Pan AM was probably my favorite cafe in Oaxaca. Why? Well, it's a hipster cafe that could basically be transported to Portland or Seattle without much trouble. The place was packed when I went in, but the servers still found me a small table where I could write, drink my Americano, and indulge in some of their kitchen's delicacies. I ordered the Farm Made Omelette. It came out much differently than expected. The omelette was served on top of the sourdough toast with a side of guacamole. I ate it, but I was surprised by how the egg omelette had been prepared. That said, it was probably one of the better meals I ate in Oaxaca. One of the special parts of Pan AM is the bakery attached. My server offered pastries during the meal and I was able to select one of the treats to finish off my meal at the end. All in all, it was a pleasurable dining experience. read more

Bad service, disorganized. The employees are running in circles, quote incorrect wait times, constantly contradict each other and don't communicate. I ordered the veggie "benedictino" and they brought me a veggie sandwich and when I told them the other was wrong they didn't apologize and made it seem like I was the problem. The only reason they get two stars and not one is because the food is actually good. I've lived in Mexico two years and speak Spanish fluently, but it's so much easier to just blame someone for how they say things than to apologize and make things right. This great located bakers is just one block away from the main boulevard: Alcala. It offers breakfast and snacks for during the day. If you go early in the morning you get fresh baked and warm bread. They have some delicious bread such as bread with basel, other herbs and whole bread. Really delicious! So good to finally find some real bread instead of plastic Bimbo bread. They also have delicious croissants with Nutella and cream, brownies and some typical sweet bread from Oaxaca such as Conchas. The only bad thing about them is the price, it is quite expensive but the quality is really good. The service is also good. read more
