We love coming to Palmetto State Armory for our sporting and protection needs. Their multiple locations allow them to be convenient to visit and their vast selection and fair pricing is commendable. With such a large store and thriving business it's good to still see the employees take time to check on individuals and answer questions. They have about anything you'd need to enjoy life outdoors from biking, fishing, kayaking, to shooting you can find what you need. My husband and I recently came to the Summerville store to research some handguns for me and an employee there immediately obliged us in friendly convo and information. We really appreciate coming here and will continue to do so.

410 shotgun shells and 7.62 X39 ammo are they in stock? Why do I even bother, Did I expect an answer ? Did I ask for a new answer?

It really depends, sometimes the one in Summerville has them, sometimes they are out and west Ashley has stuff. Their website, sometimes is accurate https://palmettostatearmory.com/… Read more

Do they have worms there?

No live worms, if your lucky they have a few rubber ones

They're quick to answer questions and provide you with what you're looking for. The prices are fair and the range was the most exquisite I've attended. Recently I bought two firearms, S&W Victory Carbon Fiber barrel and then a Hi Point 995 PCC. When I bought the S&W the box only had ONE magazine, however it's supposed to have TWO. The Hi Point didn't have any magazines. The individual that sold the S&W was aware of the missing mag and said it would be taken care of when the manager came in the next day. The Hi Point missing magazine wasn't discovered until I got home and I immediately contacted the store that it wasn't in the firearm or box. So far getting either missing magazines has been a joke. One manager kicked the ball to the other manager, Bill, and I still don't have either magazine. When I reached out to the first manager nearly two months ago about how long it would take to get this resolved, they gave no details and said they will get it resolved when they can. Im sure If I called the manufacturer I'm sure I could get them with a few weeks but I didn't buy the firearms from the manufacturer, I bought them from Bullseye Bills. What would you do in this case? What if you needed to ship something back the the manufacturer through them? And would you accept this type of customer service

I recently purchased a Turkish made .410 semi-automatic shotgun by McCoy firearms Des Plaines,…read moreIllinois from PSA in Summerville. It was on clearance, it was the last one they had in stock, but they had to have it shipped from a different store. I don't typically purchase firearms sight unseen, but it was too good of a deal. Plus I was led to believe they had it in store, until they found out that their inventory was incorrect, and it had to be shipped to their store from somewhere else. So even though it was paid for in store, they still considered it an online purchase, when it was their staff who ordered it online. Which I was unaware of that they were doing. That was PSA's first excuse on "Not knowing anything, can't help you out, it was purchased online, we only guarantee and warranty our own products." This was after I told them that I didn't purchase it online, I purchased it in-store. The box it came in was in tatters, there were no instructions with it, it was missing the plug, but it did come with three chokes and the tool kit. THE ISSUE? The bolt would not remain open, as a semi-automatic should. If you could even get it to stay open the wrong way, as soon as you set it down or moved it in the slightest way the bolt would slam shut. Where you at typically pull the bolt back and push/release the button on the outside right or left to lock it in place. PSA where I purchased the gun from, had absolutely no knowledge of this firearm that they sold me, pretty much told me I was on my own and sent me packing. Even though that was the place where the gun was purchased. So I called The Gun Doctor, I spoke with a nice, knowledgeable lady on the phone, and she solved my problem in less than 5 minutes. She talked me through it, making it sound so simple that a caveman could do it. I guess they have a new way of locking the bolt back these days, where it's not the big button on the outside, but the little button, sticking out less than a quarter of an inch in front of the trigger guard where the load ramp/port is. PROBLEM SOLVED I used to frequent The Gun Doctor in the early 2000s when I did a lot of shooting. I carried a lot of lead and extra goodies out of that store. They still have the same standard of quality, knowledgeable people, and great customer service that I am used to from them. PSA in Summerville on the other hand, definitely lost a customer. The $200 in ammunition I was going to purchase from them, I purchased from a different vendor. And got a better deal than I would have in store at PSA, even with the $10 flat fee shipping. A pawn shop would be better than PSA. If you need anything regarding firearms, The Gun Doctor is the place to call. Don't even waste your time running down the list of others, start with the top, the top shelf, The Gun Doctor.

The gun smiths wife was asking for my details which I gave and when she said out loud what is this picking up my pistol I gave her the make and model. She told me she knows what she's doing and wasn't asking me. I then asked him if he had ever seen a front sight fall off like it did on my Henry and he said yeah all the time with after market sights. I got the gun new and hadn't replaced the sights. He then spent a half hour trying to explain to me how iron sights work, how to adjust them and when he was wrong he pulled out a target with some marker dots on it he tried to use that to explain how to adjust them. Upon still being wrong he asked his wife and she said when you raise the back site you shoot lower but he already knows that he's said it a few times. He spent the next ten minutes explaining how he was going to fix it. He was going to put a bedding compound on it and center the sight on the barrel. He slipped up and told me the bedding compound was a two part epoxy. When I picked the guns up the rifle had some excess epoxy on the sight. Not enough for me to be worried about but oh the pistol. The pistol was fine upon first inspection but once I got home and looked closer the mag well looked some he had gotten into it with a file as seen above. The pricing was low, about $50 for both guns but as he has proven you get what you pay for.

Aside from my pistol kit taking nearly 2 months to get to me, the fitment on my Spikes Tactical lower was trash. I had to grind down a piece of metal on the hand guard to get the front takedown pin to fit. I also had to buy this thing called an AccuWedge in order to stop the crazy amounts of rattling the upper had while on the lower. I am running steel cased 7.62x39 ammo in a C-Products 30rd mag. My whole purpose of building this gun was to run cheap, steel cased x39 ammo. This gun is not reliable at all. Every other shot, it does not extract the spent case and tries to double feed, causing a malfunction. Even if I have a live round in the chamber and pull the charging handle back to extract it, it never does. I've emailed support and they told me the issue is the steel cased ammo. Maybe they should let the customer know that their crumby products can't function with steel before they buy it. I have many AR's and not one of them has ANY issue with steel. Only CBC does. Anyway, I'm going to buy the BCM upgraded extractor spring set and see if that helps. I really hope I can get this build running reliably. Would I buy from them again? Absolutely not. I heard they're a veteran owned company and I wanted to like and support them so bad but their products are not reliable and have awful fitment.

Customer service admitted it was a known problem but would not refund, only offering to replace the barrels, I told them I had no confidence in the quality of the product and wanted a refund only because I was going to buy barrels from somewhere else, I gave up when I was told by customer service "just get the replacement barrels and then sell them to your buddies" The barrels are now outback where I shoot, welded to a post and have steel plate targets hanging from them, I could find no other use for them.
