I purchased a $100 gift card from Palmetto State Armory on October 31, 2025, as a birthday gift for my friend. It was immediately flagged for fraud, and despite multiple emails to support, I got zero response. When I called today, the representative had a terrible attitude, offered no help whatsoever, and claimed the card was already used which is false. They refused to refund or replace it, ruining the birthday surprise. Their customer support is abysmal, with rude and unhelpful staff. I'm deeply disappointed in this company's fraudulent practices and total lack of accountability. I'll never shop here again and advise everyone to avoid them they are a complete scam! This is not the first I have heard about issues like this. I repeatedly told them the card was never even received and couldn't be used, but they couldn't care less. Ridiculous. I've bought over 10 firearms from them, never again! read more

I feel like there is always mixed reviews on people experiences at gun ranges and shops. I have been here quite a few times and have never had a reason to not give them a 5 star review. PSA is very spacious with sufficient lighting, plenty of products to shop around, and a clean environment. I mostly come here to go to the range and even on busier days i have never waited more then 30 minutes to get a spot on the range. Here at PSA you can bring your own paper targets should you choose to do that. They have firearms you can rent or just bring your own. I range operators are there to assist and sometimes will chat it up with in between sessions. Overall always a good experience. read more

Customer Service. My order was shipped to the wrong address with a photo of someone else porch from FEDEX. My community is new and we've been having problems with FEDEX, Not Amazon, UPS, USPS, just FEDEX, delivering to the wrong address. Our community has a Facebook page and we post other peoples packages so they can pick them up. I filed a claim with FedEx and told Palmetto about this situation and both stood by the photo of delivery. Even thought I was willing to show them how my porch is designed, with my actual address in the background, they both wouldn't refund my money. Luckily my community has a Facebook page and I got my package weeks later. It was delivered to an address 5 houses away. I will never conduct business with Palmetto anymore. I could've been out of hundreds of dollars, but thank goodness I have decent neighbors. Buyer beware don't buy from these monsters. Once they get your money they don't care what happens. read more

Selection and value are great. The process of purchasing anything is ridiculous. They have a counter with multiple check out areas and associates working behind. The main problem is the associates have no idea which customer was there first as they are busy with the customer they are working with. This leads to patient customers losing their spot to more aggressive or obnoxious customers. They really need to give out numbers as customers come in. Update: Ended up cancelling my order customer service is terrible. Waiting for refund. Kept getting automated messages that order was ready - when it wasn't. read more

I went here Sunday afternoon because it was on my way for some errands. My intention was to visit the range but while I was there I checked out the full store. Store has a massive fishing section, a ton of apparel for both fishing and hunting, and a very complete selection of firearms, gun parts, ammunition, etc. As you expect from PSA, prices are rock bottom in the store. The range was nearly identical to the one in Columbia which I have been to many times. Clean and well-maintained, and a separate rifle and pistol area (much appreciated!). Carrier systems were easy to use. I was in the mood to try something different and they had an H9 for rent even though it's so new that the website for it says "coming soon" still! (Yes, I rented it.) Prices on range time, targets, rental and range ammo were are very reasonable. The staff member I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. So how did all of these positives end up at only a 4 star rating? This range, like the PSA range in Columbia, has a ventilation system that is super aggressive, and the targets hang from the carrier with no backing. As a result, the targets actually blow around a little bit. We can make some points that perhaps this is going to be helpful to train against a slightly moving target, but at an indoor range it's my expectation that the targets be very still, and here they just aren't. If PSA either tones down the ventilation or can keep the wind levels in the lanes to a low enough level that the targets don't move, or just provide cardboard backers (like C&S in North Charleston does), this would be a big help. The other issue I had was that there is no hand washing station near the range. At best you can hike to the other side of the store to get to the bathroom to wash up after shooting. It's a bit annoying. I'm not sure how much plumbing they want to run to solve this minor issue, though again, C&S compared very favorably here. J.Ja read more

I'm typically not one to do this. But here it comes. Short version, they need new customer service training. From pricing an item wrong in the counter, (apparently). Which ended up being the item I selected, to taking the wrong item up to the register, me paying for it, and leaving only to find out it was the wrong item. As I went back in, I explained to the cashier they gave me the wrong item and I just need the correct one. He ended up giving me a refund because he apparently didn't understand what I said. Then I explained to him what I needed. He tells me "well...I'm stuck back here at register, You're gonna have to go back to the gun counter and get somebody to help you". (that was his opportunity to call a manager and diffuse everything. By the way, this is no kid. It's an adult male at the register). I looked at him and just walked away to grab somebody from the gun counter, to avoid regretting something I would say. Oddly enough, I stood back there & got a gentleman's attention and asked for a manager which he happened to be. His name was Glenn. Told him what happened pointing out the correct item and as he met me up at the register he explained to tell me that the item that I want cost more money, that it was priced wrong, essentially . They would not give me a direct number to a corporate director yet gave me a generic number. I calmly gave him constructive criticism. And asked him does he think it would've been a good idea for the register man to call a manager rather than just tell me to go get help behind the gun counter to avoid half of this mess. He reluctantly nodded his head and said "sure". Anyway, I never thought I would be this guy leaving a complaint, but this really left me uneasy. read more

So I live close to the Summerville store,and it will be my last time,on Veterans Day I went in looking for the ammo for 9.99 a box, so I'm looking around can't find it and they have it in stock so I ask one guy big guy over weight beard and he said if it's not out than we don't have any I told him the add came out today,he says to me you might have to go to another store. I said the add came out today for Veterans Day I'm a veteran,so I walk away from the guy than I asked this woman who has her rolling table for priceing ,so I asked her she looks can't find them I told her the price just came out now I'm getting pissed,so she comes out and tells me the ammo had a recall which I knew it was a lie, I told her that can't be true. Now I'm fed up with this place they just want you to but ammo that cost more. So today I drive to state armory on Sam Rittenburg and wow Guess what they had a ton of it and so I spoke to a manager at the store he tells me that no recall has been made for that ammo, wow they bullshited me just so I can buy other ammo. This has happened a few time before. FOR NOW ON I WILL DRIVE 45 mins to the other state armor. I asked to speak to the manager of the store and he wasn't there on a Saturday! I came in to purchase a particular item but I will carry my business elsewhere!! We love coming to Palmetto State Armory for our sporting and protection needs. Their multiple locations allow them to be convenient to visit and their vast selection and fair pricing is commendable. With such a large store and thriving business it's good to still see the employees take time to check on individuals and answer questions. They have about anything you'd need to enjoy life outdoors from biking, fishing, kayaking, to shooting you can find what you need. My husband and I recently came to the Summerville store to research some handguns for me and an employee there immediately obliged us in friendly convo and information. Made the mistake of trying to buy a gun here, and the staff is so incredibly slow and lackadaisical that it's painful. We waited, asked for help, and heard there were people that had been waiting for over an hour. Perhaps you can start scheduling appointments for purchases if you insist on keeping the current staff and allowing them to function as is. A lot of the staff comes across as racist. They'll be friendly and helpful with the white customers but rude and dismissive if you're not. Norma 22lr tac-22 40 gr 50 rd box x 18 Norma SS109 Penetrator 62gr FMJ 5.56 50 rounds x 10 CCI .17 HMR 20gr JHP 50 rounds x 5 They claimed to have shipped this in a box that weighed 24.3 lbs that arrived on June 8, 2022 but the Norma Whitetail was not in the box. I initially waited for that to arrive separately but realizing it would not I contacted Palmetto State Armory but they do not answer the customer service phone. Was on hold 3 times prolonged and longest was 44 mins then they hung up on me automatically with not person. I emailed them and they first said the UPS deliver this shipment 1 ZA 996 X00 338 547 830 and closed it. I emailed again and explained the box only weight 24.3lb but with Norma Whitetail that didnt arrive each box weights 1.22 lbs so would be 24.4 lbs for the 20 boxes in my order not including the Norma 22lr tac-22 40 gr 50 rd box x 18 Norma SS109 Penetrator 62gr FMJ 5.56 50 rounds x 10 CCI .17 HMR 20gr JHP 50 rounds x 5. Same person answered saying cant report a UPS claim after 60 days. well Firstly I reported within that time initially. Secondly, this is not a UPS claim. UPS delivered the 24.3 lbs box sent. Problem is that the Norma 308 whitetail was never shipped in that box. This is either an honest mistake on Palmetto side fail to ship but terrible customer service... or they didnt have any to ship charged me didnt ship as part of fraud. Ya ever reach midday and realize things are going quite well? It's at that point I'm waiting for the bottom to fall out, but not on this day, it only got better and Palmetto State Armory had a part in this very good day of mine. I have four bows, probably three too many but I took up archery with such vigor, I bought what I thought was right for me -- turns out I was mistaken. So I brought in all my accessories of unknown purchases past. Paul's and Tim looked them front and back -- spoke, shared ideas and suggestion, each having his own specialty in bows and arrows. Paul went to work on my PSE's stabilizer arm, Kalya restrung my BEAR recurve (in Green Maple) and installed the knocks and Tim measured me for draw legnth and began waxing my strings, sighting my scope and relooping my draw string. I have a plan now, which bows to invest in, what accessories I had that will work for my new carbon arrows. I had A LOT of reservations about coming here and about guns in general, but my oldest son and fiancé talked me into checking it out with them. They had come a couple weeks prior to shoot their guns at the range and were ready to come back. We came back on this particular weekend and made our way to the back of the store. My son and his GF were planning to go to the range. My fiancé was planning to purchase a new firearm. After being helped and asking a lot of questions, which, by the way, were met with what seemed to me as so a very competent sales person, we went to the cash register to pay for everything we picked up. We actually bought more stuff before we left so we got to talk to both cashiers before we left and they were both efficient and friendly. After paying for everything the first time, we went to the range with the new gun. We did come in with another gun from home and both guns were brought into the range. This was my first time shooting a gun in a range and I felt very safe in the environment we were in. Everyone else in the range was very respectful of each other which was helpful in us feeling safe. We had a great time and we will be back for sure. The prices were more than I thought they'd be, but I don't know how firearms and bullets are supposed to be priced. From what my son and fiancé have told me, it sounds like the prices are reasonable and make sense. I'll take their word for it as they are more of an expert than I am, but I do know that I will be coming back because I want to learn more about gun safety and feel comfortable shooting a firearm especially if there ever comes a time I may ever have shoot one to protect myself or anyone else. read more

September 12, 2023 I went into Palmetto State Armory. I was greeted instantly.. walked to where there gun counter was and again was greeted by a employee "asking if I need help finding anything?" I said and yes told him the model I was looking for and he lead me straight to it.. Him and I chatted for a min then he walked to back to locate the brand and model within couple min he returned with it in the box. The employee was very knowledgeable and helpful made the process as easy and as fast as the process can go.. was personal but, very professionally though. This is a large full-service facility. PSA has an excellent selection of arms and ammunition. They also have a great selection of fishing rods, reels and accessories and a very nice archery department. There are pistol, rifle and archery ranges, indoor and well maintained. Not what I was expecting. Overpriced to say the least and not enough staff for a store this size. The shooting range was the only thing that I found fun and great otherwise I'm just not interested. They're too overpriced on their Yeti items and clothing. Everyone raves about this store I'm just going to leave it at my experience was not that great and first impression is everything. I have been receiving emails from this comment for several years. They started as an online store to sell ammo and have great deals. They opened a physical store and it is well stocked. The have a bow team, gun range and anything related to shooting, fishing or outdoors life. The staff is great. I wanted to shoot a blue before buying and they set one up for me to shoot a free times before deciding the one I want. Definitely recommend My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. I called them and talked with the manager and was told that they would only give me half of what I spent on it. It was only 2 hours after I bought the gun and they said it was only worth half even though it was never used. The sales guy was quite cocky and also rude. If you are originally from South Carolina and enlist into the military. Regardless of law, AFT rule make it that we must also provide our order regardless if we have a SC ID/Driver license or SC CCP. It almost making it feel like im being punished for serving our country by having to provide more documentation. The workers here could have done a better job articulating this to their customers. I was not able to purchase a firearm here since I did not have my orders on me even though SC is my home of record. If I didn't tell them I was in the Military. I have visited PSA in Summerville several times and purchased various items, both in store and online. This location has a huge gun selection and shooting gear is good too, but do your homework because some prices are good and some aren't. They also have a large fishing and boating section. But their hunting gear is definitely lacking. The store has lots of open space which could be dedicated to more merchandise (hint, hint PSA....more hunting gear). Their online daily deals can be really good. Sign up for emails and you'll get one every day; some items are at great prices. Note that you can't get the online deals in store though, even if they have the same item. Customer service has always been good; helpful and knowledgeable. This location also has an indoor shooting range. I'm not a big fan of indoor ranges so I've never used it. But I did check their online prices and they are high - $10 per HALF hour, and $8 per half hour for someone else to use the same lane! C'mon PSA, stop gouging your customers. I've seen the same rates at other ranges for an entire hour. So three stars for SOME good prices, particularly online, and for a solid fishing area, but demerits for poor hunting gear selection (despite having open floor space) and robbing people on range time. read more

This place is a Toys-R-Us for grown ups. It has everything from firearms to fishing gear. They also has a firing range where you can rent firearms and even an archery range to test out your bow or crossbows. They will even repair your bow. They do also have a clothing section but beware of the prices. They are a bit high on the price side for shorts and what not. read more

The brick​ and mortar presence of one of the best online retailers for shooting and weapon parts. This is, of course,​ a full-on​ sporting goods store with hunting fishing and all that in between. They have the full complement​ of parts in stock as well and all the top manufacturers of modern sporting weapons. The store was well stocked and the staff very friendly. We wish they had some larger sizes in the 5.11 line of clothing but maybe they were cleaned out from the 4th of July sale. They price match in store the specials they have on their website only.
