PSA in this location is my favorite gun range/store in the Lake Norman area, because of the price and the caliber you can shoot. Other customers complains are valid, I been there a couple of times, usually nobody at the arms sale sections will greet you. They are like TSA agents, just depends on how busy they are and who is on staff. You probably will not see smiles like you walked into a car dealership or Apple store ha. Mike was nice and supportive during the purchase and was welcoming. PSA is very popular. Price is reasonable and they don't have supply chain disruption even during covid . They have everything you need there. Ammos, accessories, whatever you need. Watch for their holiday sales in store or online. Back to the range, there are pistol and rifle section. you can rent pistol and rifle there. $10 to rent for pistol, range time is about $20/hr. Another bad thing about PSA Denver is they are on the remote side of the lake. So it can be a long drive for people don't live nearby. read more

Most items I want are not in stock at Denver NC but can be ordered on their website and picked up. At the Denver Nc location but they do charge a $20 dollar fee to ship to their store for pickup if it's a firearm purchase. GO FIGURE so add that to online price. read more

This place definitely has the wow factor. It has everything you need and the staff to meet those needs in hunting & target shooting. For me this is a 90 minute drive but it was well worth it. Palmetto was extremely busy but I was helped almost immediately and everyone was friendly and accommodating. I drove the 100 miles because it was the only fun shop with the product I wanted and the price I wanted to pay. read more

Off the top there are plenty of knowledgeable staff there to help you as well as show you what ever firearm that want to look at. Super friendly as well . The firearms I've purchased were not only competitively priced but I also get 5% off . The range is also nice with separated lanes and air conditioned just right. The store staff are fairly knowledgeable and helpful, and the inventory is pretty good if you are into cheap firearms. The range staff on the other hand lack basic customer service skills and have more ego than knowledge and it is a stain on this otherwise average company. read more

Denver location- The service was awful. You couldn't even tell who worked there. I've been to many ranges in NC and this was by far the worst experience. I will admit that I'm not the firearms enthusiast but here was my experience. I wanted to pay for a patch and some paracord and was waiting in one (what I assumed) line near the front where I believe paperwork would be. I wasn't acknowledged for at least 10 mins. The only guy that actually said something to me was a younger dude longer blonde hair who was with a customer at the time. Finally I walked over to the range counter-- asked two dude who looked like they knew the place if the range counter also served regular check out... they said they thought so. So I waited another 10-15mins just for the guy at the range counter to look at me like I was dirt and tell me I was at the wrong counter. No apology or smile just "go there". So at last I found my final line for another 5mins. Check out and the other guy has the same soggy customer service. These guys either need a raise or to leave that job bc obviously they're not thrilled about working there. Got some ammo at a good price but it was too chaotic. I guess this is what happens...I'm one mile away from this location, work at the nuclear plant, disabled veteran, and know a lot of people...So I ordered a firearm online and the FFL I was using, I was unaware he was no longer in business, the FFL I bought the gun from wasn't able to do the transfer. They contacted me yesterday and asked who I would like to transfer to. I said well Palmetteo is like one mile away. So I call Palmetto and speak with a unenthusiastic James. He states yes they will accept a FFL to FFL transfer. So I call back the company I ordered from. They informed me that Palmetto is not in their system(there's a reason). So I'm out of state. My wife goes there gives Kirk all the information. All he has to do is make a phone call and give the FFL number. Does he do it? Not a chance. It's 3 pm the next day. I call the company I ordered from and no one from Palmetto called. And he said the reason they are not in their system is he was told to "stay away" from Palmetto. I didn't ask for him to elaborate. I told the customer service rep I am staying away too. No more indoor range. No more buying ammo and all the guys I work with in the area I'm telling them the same thing. read more

I was in town visiting family when my dad encouraged me to come in and learn about gun safety and how to shoot. I was so nervous but I spent probably close to an hour with Austin in a classroom. He took me from being scared to even pick up a gun let alone fire it, to feeling confident when handing a gun. He never made me feel stupid with all the questions or lack there of knowledge. Now when I'm in town I love coming down to the range to practice shooting and learning from all the guys behind the range counter. Great selection overall and nice selection of California compliant firearms. I'd been wanting to build my own AR15 for a while now and I was really impressed with their available kits. Purchased the upper and lower build kits as well as a stripped lower receiver. Didn't come with instructions but everyone says YouTube is your friend and they weren't lying. I only needed to purchase a couple of additional tools to get the job done. It wasn't difficult at all! They also sell blemished kits in case you want to save some extra money and to be completely honest, I can't see where the blemish is at all! I'm a fan of this place and would purchase again. Customer service. Atrocious. Don't trust these people with your hard earned money. I paid $9 for shipping protection, and it just cost me $9. I got no protection. Shipment was lost, so they wanted me to reorder at a higher cost and then pay for shipping protection again. Would have been very easy to have just reshipped my order at no cost to me, but they chose to go a different way. read more

One of my favorite firearm websites has a local retail location and they finally allow for in-store pickup of firearm purchases made online. The store itself is very nice with a wide selection of firearms and ammunition as well as optics, knives and accessories. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and happy to help you. The in store prices are not as good as their website, but this is normal for many types of businesses. They also have a shooting range so you can try out your new purchase if you so desire. I haven't yet done any shooting here, but through the windows, the range looks very nice. read more

Fantastic time at the range. Gets very busy around 2pm. They offer very good pricing for lane rentals, eye and ear protection. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. No pushy salesmen trying to sell anything. The sales associates were both knowledgeable and gave great service. Enjoyed the time on the gun range and will definitely go back. I have never in my life been in a gun store that operates and does business the way Palmetto State Armory does, especially the Denver NC store and I don't mean that in a good way. For example if you go to the PSA website and find a gun on sale you want to buy, there will be a 99% chance it won't be in stock here in Denver including their own PSA brands. I found a tactical 12 gauge pump shotgun gun on sale I wanted to buy and every store had it in stock with the exception of Denver. Then to make make matters worse the Denver store will not allow you to ship an order from the website to their store, they make you pay shipping to another FFL holder to do the background check and complete the paperwork which adds at least $50 or more to your purchase price based on the size and weight of the gun being shipped and the FFL holders service fee which wipes out any savings from the sale price. I have never ever done business with any store that will not allow orders to be shipped to them from their own website. Plus if they have a lower price online than in the store, they will not honor the lower price from their website and will charge you the higher in store price. Customer service here sucks just as bad as the Myrtle Beach store. On my last visit in went in to buy some range ammo they had on sale and decided to look around while I was there. I must have walked up and down the gun cases for at least 10 minutes or more and not one of the five guys behind the counter even looked my way or offered to help me and only one of them had a customer they were waiting on at the time. The other four were just standing around bullshitting with each other. When I checked out same as Myrtle Beach, no greeting from the cashier and no thank you after my purchase. How do you conduct an entire transaction with a customer and never speak to them?? SMFH! Also be aware that the range fee is stated as $20 for all day, but if you leave and return any time during the day, there is a $10 re-admission fee each time you do so no its not $20 for all day unless you never leave during the day. They are also no longer teaching concealed carry classes here and I was told they have no idea when they will start back. Ammo prices here are nothing to write home about as I have found cheaper range and self defense ammo at other gun stores or gun shows. I was looking for a self defense round that was on sale on the website and of course there was none to be found in the Denver store. After my experiences here at the Denver store and my one trip to the new Myrtle Beach store right after they opened (See review), I am not impressed at all with the way PSA runs their business and the customer service at both locations sucked! I have received far better customer service at the gun shows I attend. I will use the indoor range here since the store is so close to my house, but as far as any future purchases of guns and ammo, those will be made at gun shows or someplace else other Palmetto State Armory due to the way PSA runs their business and the horrible customer service I received at both PSA stores I have visited. read more

Drove from Mint Hill to Denver to purchase an HK sp5. For 45 minutes I was trying to get someone to get some paperwork started. Finally said to hell with it and went to blackstone in Charlotte and purchased the gun. Paid a little more, but I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. PSA lost out on a $3,000 sale cause customer service. I won't be back. read more

They still have uneducated, lazy and in general unenthusiastic employees working the gun counters. You have to pry info out of them that's if they know the answers to your questions. The absolute worst gun shop in the Carolina's. I have been there twice, the worst customer service. They wouldn't price match their own online price. I tried to give them a second chance tonight, I went there because I couldn't get anyone on the phone, 1 customer in the store, I and asked a guy for help, he said he was off the clock and he'd get someone else. He broke up a group of 3 or 4 and one of them came over just to say no I don't think we have that gun. Not willing to check to see if they did in the back or when one may be coming in. I asked why nobody answered the phones when nobody was working and so I didn't waste a trip he said they were messed up. I'll never darken their doors again. read more

Well, that was just the worst experience I've ever had in a gun shop. I went in to look at a SAR 9T with money and CC card in hand (great price on sale and a rebate). Should have been a slam dunk 10 minute sale. Gun Counter Guy #1 never even heard of SAR. After showing him and Gun Counter Guy #2 a picture of it on THEIR website, they looked at me like I had 4 heads. They typed in both the SKU and UPC and stared at their scanner thing like it was in Latin. They then said, "It looks like we don't have it. You can buy it online but you'll need to pay a $20 transfer fee at Lake Norman Pawn because we don't have any storage here." WHAT????? I have to pay an extra $20 for Palmetto to receive a gun that's on Palmetto's website because you aren't accepting deliveries to a brand new building? Did I get that right? How can one of the biggest sellers on the East Coast operate like this? The 803 phone number on their website seems to be set up to field online sells only. There are absolutely no prompt options to ask someone a question so forget about that. And as for the actual handgun displays, the print on the gun tags is so small and usually tucked under the gun, enjoy your time beating your head against the counter asking these guys to take them out. This would have been the first of many purchases since they are so close to the new job, but I'm done before I even started. read more

He provided me with some options in regards to converting an Armalite Rifle to 300 blackout. For those Form 4 enthusiast they have some available and they can assist with form 1 documents (pictures and finger prints). They have a huge selection of firearms, hearing protection, storage devices and accessories for firearm customization. I'm looking forward to going to range and shooting in the near future. My wife have started going here about a month ago and are very pleased. In fact my wife has discovered that she really enjoys shooting. The staff at the range has been nothing but helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The range itself is well kept and clean. I was even able to take a beginner level "One on One" course that has proved invaluable since I have only been actively shooting for a short time. We actually made the decision to purchase the Family membership on our last visit to take advantage of those benefits. The only downside I've seen is the limited number of rental fire arms they offer at the range. Since this location is new hopefully they will offer more in the future but we'll see. read more
