Having bought 5 guns and several NFA items with the same documents proving my military service at multiple other gun stores including the Summerville PSA, this store said it wasn't good enough and infringed on my rights. The last time I came here the moron at the counter tried to stop me from buying ammo because I was with my friend who he also asked for ID even though he wasn't making the purchase but because my friends child didn't have ID he tried to deny my purchase. THE KID IS 4... Do not come here, these employees are corporate bots. 0/10 do not recommend. There is no ability to critically think at this store. read more

Rifles, pistals, ARs, amo, hunting supplies, fishing supplies, clothing, shoes, boots etc... The prices are good, especially on guns and amo. My son purchased an AR-15 today. If I could give zero stars I would. I genuinely don't know how this place is still open. The customer service was absolutely awful. Gio, the employee at the register, seems like he hates his life and doesn't have even a hint of customer service ability. This is the kind of person people should be afraid of being around weapons. A person that close to seemingly "snapping" probably isn't the person you want at the front counter. On top of the horrible customer service, another employee tried to up-sale me, which is part of the job as a salesman I get it, but how many times do I have to say no? It was incessant. In addition, much of the store is overpriced for the value of product. They are very apparently trying to increase their profit margin. Will not be returning, obviously. read more

Hope the owners see this. I came in to buy a couple of rifles, but guys behind counter (50s-60s) were completely uninterested in helping me or the other people waiting. Since I was prepared to spend some $ I had some questions about accessories, ammo, etc (which I was also going to buy), but knew that if they couldn't be bothered to help a customer at the beginning, then trying engage a full buying process would have been a disaster. Was in the store this past week. Really excellent customer service. Jay, in particular, was especially helpful. He was very friendly and happy to take his time, interact, and answer questions. He also gave some great recommendations on some ammo that costs less than its higher priced competitors, but performs equally as well. I'll definitely be back to this PSA again. read more

This review is all about customer service. Went to PSA in Charleston today and the back counter customer service was awful. It took them over an hour to complete my transaction. I've never waited more than 15 minutes before. After the first 30 minutes I asked and was told mine was next, then had to inquire again 30 minutes later, at which time someone grabbed my item and began working on it. Bunch of 20-something guys working at the time who appeared to be more interested in joking around with each other than helping customers. While waiting I watched them make fun of an elderly gentleman, after he walked away, acting like it was his fault when they had him sitting there waiting because no one bothered to tell him his items were at the front register ready to go (they never did). Very unprofessional and disrespectful crew working the back today. The young lady working the front register was great and very professional. read more

The service here is not what I'd call good. Asking a question seemed like creating an inconvenience. I've been a loyal PSA customer since the beginning and I have numerous PSA branded firearms. Like back when they focused on guns and ammo with 1-2 stores. The Charleston store is huge but it's 3/4 full of crap you can get at Walmart for a lot less. (Not that I prefer Walmart but just a point to notate). I went in for an AR buffer and they had like a total of 3 on the shelf. Asked a counter guy who basically said I was already in that section and that was it. So a store that was built on being a place to buy AR parts and build your own doesn't have basic AR parts on the shelf?!? 500 triggers and 3 buffers. PSA has become too focused on selling clothes and crap and lost its way. I get it, you need markup items to be profitable. But when you have a store that looks like a former grocery store in size and have 3 buffers on the shelf then you've diverged from the path that brought you success. And even though this has always been the case, not offering your online price in your stores sucks. It's just bad business in 2025 when internet price matching is the norm. Very disappointing visit. Perhaps I'll try Summerville on my way out of town. read more

This location on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard is in a former Bi-Lo grocery store. You walk in the automatic electronic doors and the size of the place almost takes your breath away. Go off to the far left wall and the waist high glass cases almost cover the entire wall. Chad soon came up to me, as I told him the kind of pistol that I wanted, showed him my "wish list" from my review of their website. Unfortunately, as it turned out, the lower the weight and the more compact, the more the cost. Off to a kiosk with a number of screens for the federal background check and about 20 minutes later, they can walk you the front cash register, but first a request for some assistance for a holster for this only month's old model, which one of the guys from background check kiosks was happy to do so. At the check out, because the store is in a gun free school zone, they had to take my purchase in a locked box to my car. All in all, friendly, productive staff. I cannot express an opinion to the fishing gear on the far right of the store as you enter, or the clothing, although my wife found 25% off Columbia brand shirts and the full price $65 high insole flip flops. read more

Great selection of items ranging from firearms to fishing. They have all kind of outdoor clothing you may need, however this business is horribly managed and incredibly inefficient. If you want to buy a firearm, get ready to waste a couple hours because this place doesn't know how to operate in a timely manner. It doesn't matter if you have your concealed carry permit or not, they are still going to drag their feet. By far the worst efficiency I have ever seen. Came in on a busy Christmas shopping day and was pleasantly surprised how efficient the process. Nathan help us with our purchase and was very knowledgeable and honest and made our choice a simple one. Of course, we did our homework ahead of time too. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes for the background process. One customer told us he was there for 2 hours. I don't know what would be reasonable, but there was a backlog of people waiting, and, again it is Christmas. They had three guys to process it all. But just because of the the selection of products alone we will be back. read more

First and only visit I'll be making to the Sam Rittenberg location. It's a huge and clean store. Was hoping to purchase a new gun, accessories, etc. but, they were too busy to even acknowledge my presence. Having worked in retail for many years, it is a highly recommended employee action to placate the customer waiting for service by a simple greeting, " Hi. We'll be with you soon." It lets the customer know they matter. My 1-star rating is due primarily because customer service here is awful. I suggest full training or re-training on customer service communication skills. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service on the planet! Purchased an AR-15 kit a year ago, getting ready for the impending civil war. I'm not a knuckle-dragging gun worshiper, so I really didn't know what I was doing. Got the kit, but it was incomplete. Apparently I needed ANOTHER kit to complete the gun. I emailed PSA several times to resolve the problem. Nothing. I sent them a letter. Nothing. I gave up. I eventually took a hacksaw to the incomplete gun and sent it back to them! I tried to purchase a new AR-15 from Palmetto State Armory on Nov. 23, 2022. They have charged my Credit Card but as of this date 12/5/22I have not received the item I purchased. Their Customer Service is almost non existence, it takes forever to get someone on the phone, and when you do they are not able to even give you the status of your order. I urge anyone wanting to do business with this company, BUYER BEWARE I have heard the products are of good quality but their Customer Service sucks, needless to say I will not do anymore business with this company. read more

Do not recommend. They will up-charge you at any given chance. Wanted to purchase weapon and price was $575. Online price was $517. Got delayed because I'm under 21, but made sure they wrote the $517 price on the box that way it would be the same price when I buy it, but the day I went to get it they charged me full price. Called once I got home and realized they charged me full price and they said they "couldn't" do anything about it. I used to go here for all my firearm needs and that will no longer be the case, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Instead of being an adult about the issue and giving what I paid for, they cancelled my order and are allegedly refunding my money. (This will take 5-7 business days) Once I discovered they had cancelled my order I gave their customer service a call and they were less than helpful. Gladly will be the first review because I have nothing but great things to say! We went in on Memorial Day to check out the sales and we were not disappointed. Essentially everything in the store had some kind of sale! We walked up to the counter and immediately were greeted by a super informative salesman named Thad, We told him we were looking at ARs and he immediately had a few selections for us to check out. We told him our budget and he brought out a few of his personal favorites. We really couldn't have found a more helpful and knowledgeable person to answer all of our questions! He set us up with all the right stuff and went thru more affordable options to better quality options to even his personal choices. I was so pleased with the customer service. It was a busier day but everyone was extremely helpful and we never felt rushed. This place is new and feels very clean and safe as you would want a gun shop to feel! There's no shooting range on site but they offer free one hour shooting time or free lesson when you purchase a gun. This was an awesome first time experience and I hope anyone who enters has the same experience! :) read more
