Absolutely EXCELLENT experience dealing with Sarah Black who heads the youth tennis! She was super…read moreprofessional in email, accurate and efficient with all the clinic info, and has things set up to flow seamlessly, and be accommodating to parents as well as kids! I could not have asked for a better experience! Only $15 per 45-min youth clinic! My son's lessons were at Epworth Park on SSI, easy free parking right by the courts. My son was so excited for his lesson every time. Miss Sarah and her helpers are very skilled at instruction. Every time Sarah corrected my son's grip he had a good shot on the next try. As long as he listened to Sarah and the other instructors he did beautifully, especially for a 4yo playing his first time! These ladies are GREAT with kids, and they have really creative fun drills disguised as games, which the kids LOVED! If you aren't sure your kid will like/is ready for tennis, Sarah has rackets available for anyone to use if you don't have your own. The most convenient part about these lessons is you can pay as you go, and cherry pick your weeks according to your schedule. Most local kids go once per week, but we were on vacation and wanted to get more lessons in, so we did twice per week. No problem! As long as she has room Sarah will get you in. Oh and payment was very easy with Venmo. Compared to tennis clinics in the Philadelphia area where I'm from, St Simons Tennis Academy is a steal for the quality of instruction and facilities. I am excited to have Sarah and her team as part of our vacations from now on!

We've attended a few events here over the years as well as the farmers market. The park itself…read moreisn't much of a destination if there is no planned event. The pier-ish area on the water isn't suited to fishing and the water is too dirty anyway. There are no safety rails adequate for children, and it's a place to walk at your own risk. The playground is okay as something for kids to do. There isn't much shade nor comfortable places for parents to watch. The large pavilion used for the farmers market is a field away from the playground so it's no use for parents. We attended an Easter event post-Ahmaud Arbery's death, during the Biden administration, and it felt truly diverse and positive for all. Recently, we attended the NYE Shrimp Drop during the Trump administration and it felt like a redneck fest with a creepy backwoods white band, and Trumpy-looking scary white people all over with sour faces. There was no sign of the shrimp nor promised bounce houses. Very few people were there, and NONE were non-white. It felt like Deliverance and we got the he!! out! Could not have been more repulsed. The park is a community facility. Local government should have a better grip on these "community" events, especially after their scandalous reputation for having DA Jackie Johnson enabling all the dirty southern racists who crawl out from under their local rocks around here!

Brunswick is an industrial kind of town, so this park is not a major feature. It's one good-sized…read moreblock embedded between shipyards and such. Parking was ample, but shade was not. There is a playground and a waterfront promenade. The crowd was sparse and a tad sketch. There are a handful of local businesses you could walk to on the town's main stretch. Having said all that, there are some rather spectacular waterfront areas not far away, so anyone seeking a view may have better luck elsewhere.
