My father passed away suddenly on August 24th, with no insurance and no savings leaving behind a…read morewife and 4 children, 2 of which are still minors. After a very rough and long process of trying to gather money and get ends tied up we still did not have enough for everything. We ended up making a 5 year payment plan with this cemetery, but they explained that no head stone could be placed until our debt is paid off and a temporary grave marker would only stay up for 90 days. The day of the burial after the graveside service we witnessed the lowering of the casket into his grave, we are paying for double depth so my mother can be buried there as well, but when we looked in it looked very shallow. I waited until after everyone had dispersed and then went to talk to three people who work for the cemetery standing graveside to voice my concern, which was met with confusion and finally someone saying that it is double depth and not to worry. Well we were right, it was not double depth and a woman called me at the reception to tell me that they pulled my fathers body up out of his grave to dig deeper and then placed him back. We were not given the opportunity to go back to the cemetery to witness the moving of his body and to make sure he was treated with respect. That was taken away from us and there's no way to ever be sure it was dug correctly and he was treated respectfully. We buried him on September 3rd, there is still no marker on his grave 10 days later. It is very hard to get ahold of anyone in the office, they've already taken his flowers off of his grave but it is still unmarked.

This cemetery is just a two minute drive from downtown Seguin and sits next to a water treatment…read moreplant with residential homes across from it. The Guadalupe River runs alongside it. This graveyard dates from the late 1800s and is divided into both single and family concrete bordered plots. It is well cared for with many beautifully pruned shade trees and a paved road running through it. Virtually all of the headstones on the property are in very good condition and many of the original ironworks are still in place. The property itself has a very hilly sloping topography giving it some character. There are literally many hundreds of graves on the acreage, including a large mausoleum in the far corner. The founders (Smith) graves are located at the back corner very near the mausoleum. Most of the names on these headstones are Germanic in origin. This still may be an active graveyard, however the most recent interment I could find was from 2021. There's still some room at the back of the cemetery, but most of the property is full.

This is a cemetery that dates from the late 1800's and most likely where you'll find most of the…read moreformer residents of Seguin interred here. It is very well organized into numbered rows and sections. After walking the property, I was not able to find an overview map in which to locate the names of those interred here. This is still an active cemetery with some recent interments this year. One interesting aspect is that in the springtime some of the acreage is covered in bluebonnets. The cemetery appears to be divided into two parts, the newer sections to the left of the entrance and the older headstones from the late 1800s to the right. This fairly large parcel of acreage is well tended with plenty of shade trees. There are some sectioned off family plots complete with the original ironworks. You will also find a Texas historical sign at the back of the property. Also towards the rear of the cemetery, there is still space left in case you're looking for your forever home in the country. This small acreage of headstones sits surrounded by an older less affluent neighborhood. On the side where the mausoleum is located, you'll find much more orderly and newer headstones. On the other side, you'll find headstones from the late 1800s and early 20th century. At the very back, you'll find a number of plots in various states of decay. To be honest, there's not a lot of room left for future interments, although there are some spots in the mausoleum still available.

They met with us the same day, listened to what we were attempting to accomplish in terms of a memorial service, had references readily available, and allowed us time to use their conference room and pull all the elements together. On the day of the service, they were more available than we had ever expected them to be, and didn't rush us in any way. Everything went perfectly, and their services were an important reason why it all went so well. For an extremely cost effective way to handle final expenses, we didn't feel like we were getting sub par service; far from it. I've been to the full service places that come with plenty of guilt to push you to spend more money during a time where you are ill equipped to make good decisions. Here, we received everything we wanted, no high pressure sales tactics or guilt. I can't recommend them enough, they are awesome people! Thank you very much for everything you did for us.
