KidsCare Pediatrics is a small practice that provides their patients with an intimate and welcoming environment. As I have had a bit of clinical experience with a variety of doctors, I have been exposed to a whole spectrum of personalities and mannerisms that are both bad and good. The reason I gave Dr. Ajoku the fully five was because of her genuine and caring nature in speaking with parents and interacting with children. Bedside manner to me is everything!! It can make your experience at the doctors office a good or terrible one. She takes the time to get to know her patients, hear all their chief complaints, and does not try to rush them out of the office to see the next patient as I have experienced other doctors do. One thing I definitely value about the services she provides her patients is that she takes the time to educate parents on their child's condition, what the medication is that shes prescribing and its purpose. She relates to the parents and children, takes interest in their families and their interactions at school and home. Whats more she understands that not all of us can easily understand all the complex medical terminology that I know sometimes goes over even my head, so she'll break it down for you and make sure that you leave her office a lot more knowledgeable and confident in not only your doctors ability but that your child is in good hands and is going to be feeling better soon.

A few weeks ago, we had our first appointment with Pediatric Associates since they bought Coral…read moreSquare Pediatrics. I am extremely disappointed to say the least. I was going to list the issues I had, but I just found out they closed the Riverside location to move to the Heron Bay Pediatrics Assoc location and haven't notified the patients. Just one more unbelievable disappointment. So, I am just going to get straight to the point. First, I want to say that we loved Dr Liang and the office staff at Coral Square Pediatrics. They were also so wonderful and compassionate. They genuinely cared and we felt like family. Pediatrics Associates however is the complete opposite who, judging by the other reviews on yelp and google, don't care about a lifetime of relationships the business they bought had developed. My son who is now 23 was a patient of Coral Square and my daughter has been a patient for 13 years. When I made the appointment, I was told it was with a woman only to find out it was with a man when we are taken to the back room. I knew this was not going to go over well with my 13-year-old daughter. The physician assistant, William, did not introduce himself, but just immediately started asking questions. He cut me off in mid-sentence when I was answering a question he asked. Now that I think about it the answer was in her medical records which he obviously did not take the time to review. His tone was very short & he came across as having no patience when my daughter was answering his questions. He also cut her off when she was speaking. My daughter was very comfortable with Dr Liang and was not comfortable with this strange man who did absolutely nothing to make her feel at ease. He told us my daughter's BMI was slightly over what they consider acceptable and said she is overweight. All I could think was that Dr Liang would have approached this with finesse and would not have made a 13-year-old girl feel the need to burst into tears when she left the room. The nurse who came in after William left was very compassionate, but the damage was already done. My daughter has never had any negative body issues, but she is now very self-conscious of how she looks. She cried for days and is concerned about everyone else's weight compared to their height. Someone we know is an eating disorder therapist. She said he should have never said this and did not handle this well at all. Our children are bombarded with negative self-image issues and we as parents do our best to keep their mental health and body view positive. And where does it all go wrong!? - the pediatrician's office! For a physician assistant who works with children, he had no idea how to deal with a 13-year-old girl. I am extremely upset and disappointed and will be looking for a new pediatrician.

She was great and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her and her profession. My poor review comes to the front desk. They have been rude and short with my husband and I on several occasions, and this is one of the reasons we have decided to switch doctors after bringing our 4 children there for more than 7 years. The final straw was when they started to charge $3 per doctor signature for school forms. If this physical form is being filled out and signed during my scheduled appointment time, why am I being nickel and dimed? I printed the paper out myself at home, we fill a majority of the questions, but the rude lady at the desk demands her $3 per signature (a total of $9). When I told them I would be looking for another doctor, she laughed and said all doctors do this. Well, she was wrong bc the new doctor we found said any paperwork filled out during an appointment would be NO CHARGE. It's more than a good doctor that makes a good practice and unfortunately this front desk is what made us walk away.
