It has been a while but the man who helped us was abrasive and too hokey. None of the places inside were air conditioned and took them forever to even offer our kids water our kids had to ask us to ask for water they were so hot even inside I hope it has changed since then and the man made our children uncomfortable too was not inappropriate but did not know how to interact with children. All the staff there made sure I was happy before I bought my manufactured home, during the sale process, and are still making sure I am happy after the sale. Brent is the coolest, most patient, down to earth guy you will ever meet. He even came into work, responded to my emails and my text messages on his days off for me. They informed me of everything that was going on step by step I never had to worry about anything they always took care of me. Horrible customer service!!! After we told Mr. Webb we were 1-1 1/2 year away from purchase they really were no help. I asked about 4 models and was told all the houses were open and we should just wander around on our own. I asked if there was a map or if the different models were labeled he told us there was no map, nothing was labeled, just wander around and look at what ever and come find him we had any questions. There's no doubt that Tiny Tim Homes are paying Palm Harbor Homes to utilized their space, so you would think that Palm would be more accommodating to their paying business partner... before our 2-hr drive, we called to make sure they'd be open on the day before Thanksgiving, and they confirmed they'd stay open till 5pm for us. We get there at 2:36pm, and the front door is locked, but someone is clearly inside ignoring our loud knocking. So we decided to just squeeze through the fence to see the home we drove 2 hours to see. The bearded young sales rep stopped us in our tracks. He was upset that we hopped the fence, but told him we tried knocking on the front door, but he said he ignored answering the door cuz they closed at 3pm. First off, they said they were open till 5pm, and second, if they did close at 3pm, and we were there at 2:36pm, why did he lock the front door so early? We asked him if we could still see the home, but he said no cuz they were closed, but it wasn't even 3pm yet, so he was contradicting himself, but really it was cuz he was being lazy and didn't want to be bothered cuz none of his managers were around to teach him a lesson on salesmanship or even plain customer service, so he thought he could get away with his lack of professionalism. I am attaching a photo that proves we were there well before 3pm and should've been treated with some politeness and decency (it's in military time, 14:44 or 2:44pm)! Just because you hate your job, doesn't mean you should take it out on your company's customers, especially when they are the ones signing your paychecks! The products are good but the work of acquiring them - which should be fairly straightforward - is maddening. They contract out all the site preparation, delivery, and site finishing, and apparently have a poor relationship with that contractor (in this case Alamo Transport) which results in delay after delay, with dozens of phone calls, emails and personal visits getting only promises to get back to the customer 'as soon as possible.' If the customer doesn't go directly to the contractor, this can mean weeks with nothing happening even if the house itself is done. All finishing work to the house itself is managed not by the local branch but by the factory, meaning, again, request after request and question after question going unanswered for days or weeks, jobs being left only partly finished and the clock starting again only when the customer complains. The completion of my own job is more than a month past the drop-dead promised date, with apparently another month to go for three items that would take no more than an hour to finish. Judge for yourself how much annoyance and incompetence you can tolerate. read more
