The boards were 16 feet long and Jonathan saw me struggling to get them into place (about 50' from our normal drop spot) and he carried the boards from the truck all the way to the building site and then helped me turn them the right way to make it much easier for me to continue my project. My husband and I bought MSI Calacatta Ultra Quartz from MSI San Antonio, TX and it one of the worst…read morerenovation decisions we have EVER made. Bought in Dec. 2019, installed in 2020 We previously had Caeserstone in our Austin home before and had no problems. Even though we were VERY careful, tried to remove any stains when saw them ( coffee was a culprit) they developed and were impossible to remove. Then we noticed the brown staining around our high end faucet, even though we tried to keep that part clean. We bought a new whole house water softener about six months after getting this quartz installed and my husband, an engineer, kept it maintained regularly. The brown stains got worse and worse until we had the MSI reps out in 2024. Our installer did everything they could to help us, having two MSI representatives from San Antonio over to look at that. One of the men, the "expert". said he had not seen this before but only give us a partial rebate for the counter section that included the sink. We did not want to just replace that one portion because the rest of the countertop ( three other sections) had issues with staining as well. We cleaned just like the Q Premium Natural Quartz directions from MSI said to clean, the Care & Use information. It states " follow these simple care and use guidelines and your Q ™ countertop will provide you with many years of trouble free use." ( NO IT WON"T!!!) They should have replaced the whole set of countertops; we, of course, would have gone through them and then paid the additional cost to get quartzite. We will NEVER again buy quartz, but ESPECIALLY not from MSI! I am writing this so homeowners will know about this defective product. This took me a lot of time to research; apparently, the Q line of MSI is now made in South Carolina but it was made in INDIA when we bought ours ( you will never see that on MSI"s website!) At least at that time, probably now too, if a product is made in India or China, there was a problem with production oversight in those overseas countries and that has to do with having too high level of resin in the quartz. If these countertops had over 90% quartz, which they advertize now, I am sure that we would NOT have had these problems. I have been meaning to write up this bad review so that other BUYERs will know. Caveat emptor, which means Let the buyer beware!" We had our kitchen countertops installed on July 22, 2020 and on the next day we had watermark stains and rings from glasses, ring from vitamix container all over the countertops and the island. We sent photos to the owner and he is willing to replace all the counters. We are looking for GRANITE LIGHT SLABS and will never buy quartz again. I got 9 buckets of dirt today from Brooks Stone Ranch, and it took me three trips because I got distracted at Home Depot beforehand and forgot to grab a couple more buckets to add to my 3. I felt real silly pulling up the third time but the guy at the counter didn't treat me like it. I feel even sillier because it really didn't save me that much money vs just getting bags of the TX potting soil from HEB - however! The quality might be much better, to be determined. I will say I've bought buckets of stone here once before as well, and that is a MILLION times cheaper than buying little bags at Home Depot or anywhere else. I got 15 gallons of crushed limestone for a small project for $5. Definitely worth it! Everyone I've spoken to there is super friendly and helpful, nobody is going to tell you to your face that you're dumb for taking three trips for 6 cubic feet of soil, and the prices are outstanding. So if you're a humble little DIY-er and you don't mind a little extra dirt in your shoes to save a few dollars, don't be afraid to check them out!
