Now this place is awesome. Honestly, I never thought I would be a customer of this type of business. But my wife insisted, haha, and after 22 years of putting up with me I guess she's earned it. But every time I walk in the place, the people there just seen so completely happy. They're happy, they have great attitudes, they are the nicest people in the world. Honestly, I'm an ornery old veteran. I don't like too many people, haha. But I love these folks. It's just a friendly, warm environment where they care about their customers and they take pride in what they do. You just don't see that in today's world very often. The rating is this low specifically because of the "Spa" they attached on their services here. They have a Light Stim red light bed. This was the 1st FDA approved bed on market. It's great. I was going to an actual spa for this until they closed down. When I saw Palm beach offered it, I was SO excited. Don't. be. excited. I will tell you why. The bed is located right under a speaker they play on the main floor as the room they placed the bed is open to the outside hallway. MEANWHILE their sauna room (which I never see anyone in) has the enclosed room, along with the spray tan and stand up tanning room. SO DUMB. IF you thought you'd relax here, think again. You will be listening to 32-count body pump meets 2000's club music style music. It is beyond annoying. They USED to turn music off or even down per request, and lately said corporate won't let them. If you think you're gonna block out music with headphones, you best have expensive ones, bc regular ones won't cut it. You, like I, will leave your 40 minute session more stressed than when you walked in. I no longer refer friends or family here. It is not spa like and just not relaxing AT ALL.. Honestly..at this point I question whether the benefits of red light is greater than the damage of the stress it produces by being there. Pass on this location. ps. The workers are all awesome. Everyone there is really really nice very informative. They know their business. The Place is very very clean. I was not happy with the spray tan machine machines. I got one on Saturday. Today is Monday. I followed their instructions to the T. And I'm already having splotchy places on my legs. As soon as I did my rents, I started with a product I bought from them, which was expensive moisturizer and to help the Tan blend and look nicely And I asked for the dark side of medium. My stomach, my sides in my back, hardly looked hand at all, my arms and my legs, dead, and my face. Also, one month membership is $80. You can lay in the red lights for free but then it's like 30 bucks on top of that to Tan. I don't like the fact that you have to make an appointment to Tan. They do have many mini beds, but even with $80 a month I can only use two other beds. The other I guess better nicer beds are not included in that price. And I'm sure there's people that don't mind paying. Their location has a lot to do with the pricing I think. But I chose The Place because it's only 3 miles from where I live. I've gotten a spray tan where a person actually did it and it was much better. read more

Had a very positive experience getting a machine spray tan. Staff members were friendly and helpful and made sure to explain all steps involved and make sure I understood what to do before, during and after the process. No sales pressure. I like the location, the parking, it's clean and the beds are nice. The 24 hour rule kinda cramps my style a little. Never experienced that at any other tanning salon. The staff need to be trained to let the phone ring when people are standing in line. Multiple different staff have stopped helping people in line to answer the phone and rather than putting them on hold they make the in store clients wait while the phone caller gets service. That's not smart business. They are hiring so maybe they will do some adjusting with that customer flow. The woman rang me up for a $40 spray tan without giving me the choice of a cheaper option. I was hoping since I paid double what I usually do at other tan places it would be a great tan. It was the WORST spray tan I've ever gotten. I've had it for barely two days and it's already rubbing off in spots. Their technology is outdated and left my armpits completely white. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants a spray tan. read more

I honestly don't know how this place has so many good reviews. I've had nothing but crap experiences every time I've gone in. Staff is pushy to buy things almost ridiculous. Waaaay over priced lotions and the beds they put you in not all of them are great. I've been left alone in the salon before and waited for someone to return. Called out, walked around the store. I got no answer. I just left after I tanned and never came back. You have to put your credit card in file there's no other way to tan. This place is a money grabbing, unprofessional place. I'm a regular tanner and decided to try this place for the first time since my offices just moved over to Stratford Rd. I asked for the quickest bed since those are usually the 'bronzing' beds. I was told the Diamond level bed was a 10 minute bed. I paid $33 for a single session. So I'm in there, loving it, and the bed cuts off after a few minutes. When I went back to the desk and asked how long the bed was set for, she said "6 minutes...those are new bulbs and since this is your first visit I can't put you in for the full time". I asked why this wasn't mentioned before since I would not have paid for the Diamond level bed if my time was going to be cut in half. "So you charged me $33 for 6 minutes of tanning?" Their response...crickets...no words, just blank stares. I finally just turned around and said "Ok thanks" and left. Worst experience I've had at any salon in the triad. Unless this is your only choice, go somewhere else. read more

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They may work off of commission (which I'm not even sure of that), but they are selling you things that will Help you tan darker and your tan last longer. I'm grateful that they are helpful in their recommendations. I love coming here (especially because of the hours.. Not to mention the amazing choices in awesome beds). This place is simply amazing! The staff is incredible and knowledgeable about their products and services. I have never felt "pushed" to buy this and that, none of this you "must" do this and that. The ladies here deserve credit where credit is due. I was quite leery of a chain salon but it went out the window when I signed up and the manager took the time to show me EVERYTHING even though at the time I had only signed up for the basic package. Everybody here is kind and friendly. Top notch equipment, great staff. Thumbs up, keep it up! this is my little oasis from the real world and I am freaking loving it! Nice beds, but the staff and pricing is the problem. They will try to lock you into a ridiculously priced account and not only that, but you cannot make a visit without being bombarded by the staff. Everyone is on commission so they try to sell you anything whether it be $100 lotion, teeth tanning covers (what?), or plastic shoes to wear into your spray tan. I hated going there & switched to BVI Sun Co. on Robinhood Rd as fast as I could. BVI has great prices, not to mention awesome girls making up their staff! read more

Wish I could give them no stars!! I've been waiting for almost 4 hours when they said it would be an hour wait!!! Employee's sister just walked in and got to go ahead of everyone. I'm sorry this has poor management and unprofessional employees! I would NEVER EVER recommend it to anyone! Plus know that they make you pay ahead of time and will not give refunds!! They told me to call around an hour after I set the appointment and I called three times with no answer! Lady tried to get her refund and they denied her because they say they can guarantee time! Where do I even begin. Me & my sister have never in our lives been treated like absolute trash by so many employees at one company before, it's ridiculous. I go in the first time with my sister, not knowing anything. A lady, the assistant manager Ashely, did not explain anything to us, did not state prices to me, before she just swiped my card without telling me the total. Then AFTER she explains the price & instead of asking me which bottles of stuff I want she grabs the most expensive things they have so if you plan on going there be sure to watch out for that. Then the next time I went same problem with Ashley, she just treated me like I was an idiot, & seemed like she was miserable at her job & she was taking out he attitude on me. I then wrote a review solely about her. I then get a text from someone telling me that I had better take down my review, & threatening me. I then contact the company, someone named Erin contacted me. This lady just completely took Ashley's side & was like "I'm sure she's not out to get you, & that's just her as a person, it's just her attitude, I can offer you 20 dollars credit, & im just asking nicely if you could remove the review" so obviously her being part of the problem also. My sister take it to a step further & speaks with the regional manager named James Moore. This man apologized to us & sounded very genuine & asked what he could do to keep us as customers & my sister said "a free month & to be treated better in that month to make us want to stay" so he says okay. We NEVER agreed to remove our reviews but he sends my sister a screen shot of someone else's review & tells her "can you have your sister take down her review" which one, was not my review, & two, we never agreed on doing in the first place. He NEVER apologized and then said "I'm going into the store today to add you guys back into the system, I will let you know when it's active. Which lead to never getting a response back. I honestly was going to try a different location with different people but after all of this I don't ever want to go to another palm beach in my life. They care so much about these reviews they don't really care about the customers. I have been tanning here a little over a year now and have yet to encounter any issues. Very nice, courteous & helpful staff. It is always clean. Great service. A large selection of lotions, sunbeds, and spray tans to choose from. Bulbs are frequently replaced. There are often opportunities to upgrade your tan at a great price if you choose. Staff will mention current promotions however, are never "pushy". You won't be disappointed! read more

I called Palm Beach Tan before I went in and asked how much a spray tan was going to be and the lady told me 25 dollars. I was very pleased with this price so I went out of my way to go to Winston, when I got there the lady was extremely nice and very helpful, however when we got done with checking me in the price ended up being 40.07! When I told her I called and checked the price and it was only 25, she continued to tell me that was only the price of the booth. I didn't ask for anything added on whatsoever, but there was hidden prices that they did NOT tell me on the phone. She also didn't tell me what the prices of the add ons, and also didn't tell me that she was adding them on. I am very pleased with the tan, but not how they lied and said it was going to be 25$ for a spray tan then it ended up being almost double. read more

I came here with my sister because we had a coupon for a $10 spray tan we wanted to get before we headed to the beach. Somehow I ended up paying $38.00 because of all the add ons the girl behind the counter told me I just HAD to have. (purchased primer, extender, basically things that were supposed to make it last longer) I also payed $7.00 more for the dark level. The next day after the tan had developed, it was no darker than my sister who purchased the medium. Two days later at the beach my tan was coming off in huge splotches. It made me embarrassed to even show my skin while on vacation. I was so disappointed in the way they basically tricked me into purchasing all the upgrades, and the end result was far worse than my normal $14.00 spray tan at another business. If you advertise a coupon for a $10.00 spray tan, let someone have a $10.00 spray tan without harassing them about it. I will never return. read more
