Wow, I had to visit a different Palm Beach Tan location in Pooler since I have a flight out of Savannah tomorrow morning, and I can see why this location has such poor reviews! The absolute worst experience here. The manager clearly does not know how to manage this place or how to fix a problem when it arises. I really don't even know how she is the manager with the way she was talking to me as a customer. I usually love to get my spray tans here and they come out wonderful. Their 4 turn booth does not work properly and they did not tell me that before I got the tan. My face was dripping with solution that I had to fix and my left arm was not sprayed like my right arm. They told me just to let it develop and that it will look okay...not offering any sort of solution. I went back and the MANAGER offered me another spray tan if i go home and shower it all off then come back the next day & they will give it to me for free. Even though she said it may look splotchy if i do that, so her next option was for me to pay full price for a self tanning foam with the same bronzers. I told her I had a wedding to go to and I can't risk going home showering hoping to get it all off then getting another spray tan. I asked if she could give me any discount on the self tanner that I would have to buy to FIX what they messed up. She refused and said giving a discount on any products is not possible for her to do as a manager and she would get in trouble. So I ended up paying $120 for a terrible spray tan and a self tanner to FIX the spray tan from the booth they knew was not working properly. Let me remind you this was the manager I spoke to who refused to give me any sort of discount on a product to fix the tan bc she said it was not possible to give any discount on any product. When I initially signed up I was told I would just have to freeze my account by the first of the month if I had to freeze it for any reason. Unfortunately my father just passed away and I am states away and explained this to the girl that answered and she said that's "really tough" but I would need to come in store to cancel. She sent me an email so I could go through and see for myself how I could figure out how to cancel without coming in but she said the billing for the month of December was already going to be processed and there was nothing I could do even though it is not yet December and I won't be able to tan at all the whole month. Everyone is super friendly. I've wanted to go tan for a while now but my previous experiences in my home town made me think twice. However, I needed a quick spray tan done for a special occasion so took a chance at Palm Beach in Pooler and am so glad I did. I've been a regular since. I got the 3 pack special on spray tans and decided I wanted to try the tanning beds. At first, I was discouraged because I was so white I'd turn red even after 4 minutes. Meredith was super helpful and explained everything to me and told me to keep at it and I'd get the tan I wanted, and she was right. I'm still not a tanning pro but I'm up to 9 minutes and everyone is noticing my new tan. The beds and store are always clean and everyone who works there is super friendly. Ashley at the front desk has nasty rude attitude. After reading other reviews it looks like all the staff is rude. She obviously doesn't know how to read the "cross market " screen and needs to be retrained. She tried to lie to me to not give me my full time. I am not one to leave reviews on any business , but my experience here as been absolutely horrible. it has been an unpleasant experience every single time I have walked in their building mainly regarding the staff. I have had a tanning membership and gotten several spray tans from this place for several months bc it is the closest to me, and keep in mind I had the most expensive package that included spray tans. i have tanned via beds and spray tanned my whole life, so I know what I like and am not new to the game where they can scam me into buying all the extra additives and lotions they try to sell. I can respect the staff tries to sell for commission, however if I tell them no multiple times I should not be made uncomfortable and disrespected for not buying anything extra. One of the girls was beyond rude to me bc I did not want to buy $30 of extra additives when my spray tan was already included in the membership I pay for. she expressed how awful the spray tan was going to look on me if I didn't buy it. Guess what... I didn't buy it and the spray tan looked perfectly fine. The staff is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. there have been times I've gone in and the staff is up front gossiping where the whole salon can here what they are saying. when I went to cancel my membership they said I should freeze instead and that money can be used as "tan bucks" and used towards spray tans, lotions, or a membership fee. When I went in there to get a spray tan Using my tan bucks, another staff tried to get me to pay it out of pocket when I already had the credit on my account. it took me several minutes to advocate for myself and not be scammed before she finally agreed that I could use the tan bucks. BEWARE THEY WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF WHAT YOU ALREADY PAY FOR. The WORST tanning salons and staff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I'm a stylist from the Atlanta area who presently resides in Richmond Hill. I decided to join Palm Beach tan in Pooler, for 15/mo, because they have longer hours than my local salon where I've got a minute package. The only reason I need two memberships is to come to Pooler when my local tanning salon is closed so I only come to Pooler once a week sometimes less. Last night I went to tan , it's been over 8 weeks since I've tanned because I didn't need to ... I'm tan from vacations and living on a golf course with pools etc. Well can you believe they told me I could only lay for 10 minutes... it's a twenty minute bed.!?!? I've had enough! Although I've already paid my subscription up to the 25th, I canceled my membership. I then explained to her how frustrating it is, having to explain why I should get to lay the full time, every single time I come and it's downright insulting to be told NO when I do explain why I should get to lay 20 minutes!! I'm a 46 yr old woman being treated like a teenager that's never tanned before. I must say, the girl working there last night was a complete sweetheart and listened patiently to my complaints. I told her my experience has been horrible with the staff deciding I can only lay 7 minutes, 5 minutes or 12 minutes... I've never seen a tanning salon who wouldn't let me lay for the WHOLE TWENTY MINUTES even after being a member here for 5 months?? I drive 25 minutes over here after paying monthly auto draft since June, It's OCTOBER and I can count on TWO hands how many times I've laid in their beds. I CAN NOT take the MICRO MANAGING any more! A couple of the girls were very nice but there were two girls who were always rude. Example: When I first joined, this rude girl kept interrupting the nice girl, who was trying to sign me up for the $15/mo deal I asked for and read me the details of my new membership . Rude girl says: "I just don't get it?" ( I ignore her because I'm trying to listen to the agreement I'm about to sign) Again...she says "Ma'am?" I'm avoiding eye contact for a reason but she's persistent... good sales right? WRONG. Rude to keep interrupting one of your team members to try and push an upgrade... she asks again... "ma'am Can I ask you a question? I finally looked up at her and say... "sure thing... right after we finish up here you can" That's not good enough so she disregards my wishes and proceeds to ask me " Why do you insist on buying the basic package even after you've seen how much better these other beds are? I was honest and repeated the same thing I had ALREADY told the nice girl signing me up, I said "time is money in my opinion so I'd rather have the expensive beds because of the shorter lay times but I don't live here and since I'm only going to come once or twice per month and since you won't sell me minute packages I'm getting the $15/mo deal. If you sold 100 minute packages like the one I have at my local tanning salon, then I'd buy your premium bed package." She never says a word, just turns and walks away. The staff here micro manages your tan... they're borderline obsessive about controlling my tanning experience EVEN after I've had my membership here for 5 MONTHS! They make me show them my goggles EVERY TIME I come before I go back. They started me out at only 5 minutes and would only increase my time by two minutes EACH visit...REGARDLESS of the fact that I'm a member elsewhere and only come when my salon is closed. I only lay 1-2 times per week and sometimes go weeks without laying at all, between BOTH salons. I love my local community tanning salon, BEACH BABES, because they sell 100 minute packages that don't expire and since I rarely use the tanning beds it doesn't work paying high monthly premiums. Because they close at 7 I thought this membership at Palm Beach would be a great alternative for when I can't make it to Beach Babes in time. My mistake. I ran my own hair/tanning salon for 11 years before moving here so I know a little about how things work in the tanning industry. There is NO reason to limit my time on their weakest bed, especially after I signed a waiver that THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE for over exposure!? It's too bad for that too because they really do have EVERYTHING ELSE going for them including: - Exceptionally CLEAN -I love the station to tidy up at after your tan...complete with deodorant, hair spray etc. - their bulbs are premium bulbs, they're regularly replaced so they're strong -I can tell they remove and clean the dust that collects on the bulb side of the fiberglass regularly (most salons don't do this because it's a hassle unscrewing the fiberglass and replacing plus you can easily damage the bulbs if you're not careful) Last but not least.. they are open LONG hours to accommodate any schedule. read more

Rude staff. I have been to this location a few times, specifically to do the versa spray. Each time there is a reason it's not working or they don't want to set it up. This time I asked to do the versa and the associate made a face of disgust and asked why I wanted to.. and I said I know you guys don't like to put the filters in and would rather sell me on a booster for the mystic rather then I get the bronzer for free in the versa but I specifically came here to do a versa and her words were "we haven't put it together for a month and I'm not going to do it now" read more

I am not a tanning-bed kind of girl so I can't comment on that, but the spray tans done at Palm Beach Tan in Pooler, GA are TOP NOTCH! I liked the spray tan I received here better than the one I got done at home in Miami for my wedding, and my spray-tan tech did it BY HAND and she has spray tanned Gigi Hadid!! If it aint broke don't fix it, and the standard spray-booth here just works. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and you leave with a great glow for your buck. The hours and walk-in friendly atmosphere are so convenient! I only tan for special occasions, and this place gets it right when you need it! The only comment I have is to be forthcoming with your coupons- ad ons are understandable but can confuse someone not familiar. read more

I wouldn't even really give this place any stars but I have to to write this review. The salon is ok even though it's brand new, the staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I had a free week so I tested it out, the first time I tanned I got no color at all. (I know how this works cause I worked at tanning salons for years!) I asked for more time and they wouldn't let me tan for as long as I wanted, there was supposedly only 2 minute increments in which they were "allowed" to let me increase. I've never in my life ever heard of that - as a paying customer I should be allowed to tan as long as I want! Also I was recommended an all natural lotion, the lotion was decent but incredibly overpriced. All in all, unless you have a free week or session it really isn't worth going to. I'd happily return back to Bronze Tanning across the street by the Publix! The staff and beds are much nicer & better there! read more

This place is the worst. I regret ever stepping foot in this place. Every time I went in to try and get a spray tan they would try and sell me products that I didn't need. Every single time. Also, what was supposed to be a one month membership ended up costing me the price of three months. The second month was charged when I missed the cut off date for cancellation by one day, which ok I'll accept that one, my bad. The third month was charged after I told the cashier that I wanted to cancel. She told me ok she would cancel it. Well guess what I got charged for the third month so I call to figure out what's going on and they tell me that there's no record of me cancelling. Of course the cashier didn't give me any paperwork telling me that my membership was cancelled so I have nothing to prove. Beware of this shady place, the whole operation feels like a scam. Oh and to top it off the spray tans aren't even that good. They faded within 2-3 days and often came out splotchy even though I prepped my skin as they advised. read more

I went in with my husband to see what they offered. We had already talked to another company but I like to shop around. The people were really nice. Alex gave us a tour of the store and explained their packages really well. I personally wanted the level 4 bed. I was very impressed with how clean everything was. I looked hard to find something wrong but couldn't (I'm very picky). We left with information in hand and talked. We didn't go very far at all before we went back and paid for a month. We took the kids to the house and I went back to tan. I loved the level 4 bed!!! I am very happy with their customer service and can't wait until I start seeing the results!!! Place is great, prices are a bit high but you have opportunities to get cash back and every month you have certain specials and tan bucks you can redeem so i think it balances out. Their lotions are great and the high level beds are fantastic. You also have the option to freeze your account for the months you don't plan on going, for $5. read more

Hands down best tanning experience to date. I've been a customer of several local places in different areas and the chain Sun Tan City and this is wayyy better. Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about product and services. I love that the staff doesn't try to push product. :) I've seen comments below about lines, and not being greeted properly. I've never experienced this. I have seen a bit of a line in the evening, but if you come in late (prime time for people getting off work) it happens. After struggling to like other tanning options in the Pooler area I opted to give PBT a shot. I know that they're a chain and that shows. Fortunately, the girls there are really nice and have quite a bit of knowledge. When I went in and told them that I was interested in some tanning packages (options) they were quick to show me around the salon and asked me questions about how I tan. The beds are really nice and the place is spotless. However, the staff does need to be given a lesson or two about professionalism. I really don't want to walk in and not be greeted because you're shoving a burger down your face. Take it in back or find somewhere other than the front counter to consume your lunch. Other than that, every one seems to be really happy and tries to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Like Anastasia, I too felt that they need to work on doing the hard sell. Having worked in sales I know exactly what they're trying to do and why. After all, this is a chain tanning salon and the lotions etc are where they truly make their money. However, PBT really needs to put less focus on the upsell and more focus on the customer. If they are able to do this is will likely work out better for them in the long run. read more

So I'm moving to town and was trying out salons in the pooler area and stumbled upon this place. First of all I wasn't at all acknowledged by any staff member, there was also no sufficient seating places as everyone was standing at the front door. It seemed understaffed and unprofessional. I just took a brochure to see if I would change my opinion on this place bc of pricing and bed quality. I proceeded down the road and found a place that was very spacious and extremely welcoming. They were fully staffed and very knowledgable about the products, beds and packages. The waiting area was big enough for people not to be standing against the door and looking confused. They got me in for a trial basis that day. Needless to say I will definitely be returning to Bronze Tanning when I'm all settled into my new home. read more

Worst spray tan experience of my life. I am orange and splotchy all over but particularly in my face. I have engagement pictures tomorrow. I called and they admitted to not giving me my normal color/mixture. I'm 3 different colors on my face that can't be hidden by makeup. I called asking for advice on how to remove it and was told "whatever you think". I wouldn't suggest anyone go here. Their machiner is broken and their customer service is awful. read more

First I would like to say the Customer Service skills are awesome. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I was unsure what tanning package I wanted. With the awesome tour I was given from one of the gentlemen (blonde body builder) I was sure I needed to start with the level one monthly package. Saw an ad online for a $17 spray tan (only reason I went because I do not trust booth spray tans) at fist the manager had no idea what I was talking about, when I showed her the coupon she said it was $17 plus a $20 base fee??? So the tan ended up being $37. SO crazy why would they advertise $17 tans when there's a base fee added??? The tan was also not good at all, I asked to be dark and I barely noticed a difference. Can I rate them with negative stars?? Every time I go to spray tan I have to deal with what feels like a pushy sales person! I would like to think that I am already buying a quality product and don't have to buy every other product in the store to make me have a decent tan. When I tell them I am not interested in buying more product they continue to pester me, ask me if I am sure and then tell me my tan won't look as good if I don't spend more money on their products. I go to Palm Beach in Pooler out of convenience but I have now gotten to the point where I would much rather drive a little further away to not have to deal with such pushy people! read more
