The membership is for a year then after that the beds are only $5-15 per visit and they still have towels, stickers, & keep the place clean. Lotions are affordable, not a full bonus check like other places. I really tried to like the big corporate places like solar dimensions but I CAN'T wrap my head around paying more for a tan membership than my gym membership and monthly at that. Such a rip off. SCT still offers turbo beds and they keep up with changing the bed lights. If you really need beds that talk to you, spray water in your face ( which I find annoying) and play music ( I bring my own) then spend an extra $80 EVERY month then go for it, I'll keep it simple and reliable at sun city. Plus the staff there are all super friendly and sell you lotion you ask for or that meets your needs, not the most expensive to make commission.

I WAS DUKED...because I felt like she knew in Dec that they were merging and that there would be changes...now they want 19.00 each visit, but it doesn't matter- the company should have honored what i agreeed to because its the same NAME! AND THEY DIDNT GO OUT OF BUSINESS THEY MERGED. To be clear, UNDER THE $10...I WOULD HAVE VISITED 3X PER WEEK (I wanted to tan before the outdoor pool open in May) with $19 I would have went once per wk. I feel regardless if a company switches over (for example ) if your renting and agreed to what you are willing to pay per month and a new company takes over in the middle of your lease, you wouldn't expect the new company to raise your rent/mortgage in the middle of your prior agreement. duh, you would think it's unfair. The young lady called the manager (Karen?) and she said there's nothing she can do. I wish I read the reviews before signing up. I will NEVERRRRRRRRRR go back to this place. AJ, an area manager who's also a trainer, is consistently on the phone reporting things that need to be updated, fixed, moved, you name it. He also led me through my first "success session" which is a monthly perk of their premium membership. He did a body scan using a machine they have and helped me come up with some goals and showed me how to do some exercises / use some of the equipment. A couple others I've met, Austin and Elton, are constantly walking around the gym and cleaning / stacking weights / vacuuming etc. I have not met the new owners yet, but I can tell they and their staff are working hard to update the facility and make the best use of the space they have. In terms of extras, their premium members also get access to tanning, hydro massage, and their infrared sauna. In general, it's a pretty straightforward gym. Their cardio is in the front, their weight machines are in the center, and their free weights and racks / cables are in the back / on the far side. They've got around 10 treadmills, several bikes, a couple rowers, a stair master - basically anything you'd expect a gym to have. Overall, the facility is a little older, but again, they're working hard to make upgrades and updates. Becoming a member was easy, and I never felt pressured to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. They've also got a bunch of locations in the southeast, so if you're someone like me who spends time with family away from home, odds are you'll have a club near you. In my opinion, you can't beat it when you weigh everything - price, amenities, the convenience of having access to any club at any time 24/7, and the staff. I'm glad I chose this gym, and I hope it can be the one that works for you, too.
