I've never been to a palm beach. I just moved to Kentucky and where I use to live there was a LA tan I would get spray tans. Emily helped me set up an account and was very friendly and had great customer service. She answered my questions and if she didn't know the answer she found out for me. WIth summer upcoming, I reduced my membership to secondary, paying a reduced fee that build up until I came back. Wellll, today I tried to return and was told that I needed to pay for November at full price and pay a "Unfreeze" fee. My balance, which I have accumulated since June was not elgible to use. Buyer beware! My daughter went to the Palm Beach Tan in Cold Spring. Thinking she was signing up for a one month tanning package she purchased it. It was not explained to her that it was a contract plan and that it would continue until she cancelled it. So being a broke college student, the Nov payment didn't go through the bank - NO call from PBT, the Dec payment didn't go through the bank - NO Cal from PBT. All along she just thought she only signed up for one month as this is how our local tanning salon works. January she gets charged $35. So I question this and a call to the salon I was told that she owed $90 and this would continue until she came in to cancel. A call from PBT would have been appreciated. That is only good customer service. They would not refund the January payment nor send her a copy of the contract she signed. The staff needs to have more training in explaining these packages. Sent a message to corporate only to get a call from the SAME rude manager that I spoke to on the phone. We will chalk this up to a life lesson for my college student to read the fine print!!! We have paid the $90 and cancelled the plan. If another payment shows up on her card we will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

Was incredibly disappointed with this location. This is my second time visiting to tan here. The last time I came in, the blonde woman at the front desk (who I would name, but was not wearing a name tag) was incredibly rude when informing I could not tan in a bed within 24 hours of my last visit. Admittedly, that was my fault and I know I should not be tanning that close together. However, I did not expect such an attitude in her response. The second time I came back was today. The same girl as before asked my name and set me up in a bed, but not without a rude attitude yet again. The rest of the workers were just sitting around. I have been to other locations and the people working are nothing short of friendly. They are usually very personable and greet you like they are not just annoyed you're there. I've lived in Lexington KY my whole life until about two years ago I moved up to Northern KY to start my first job in Cincinnati. I used to frequent Sun Tan City back in the KY days and had a pleasant experience, so when I asked some friends for some advice on a favorite place to spray tan, I heard Palm Beach Tan. I've visited Palm Beach tan in several different locations over the past two years--Hebron, Latonia, and Cold Springs, only to get sunless tanning specials. Before I left for vacation, I bought a package for 3 spray tans for $65. When I asked the attendant the expiration policy, she informed me that the date was extendable and even though the the other spray tans should be used by 45 days, they are flexible on extending the days past the 45 if you come in within reason for your next spray tan after the initial tan. Pleased at the time, I purchased the package. After my trip and recent engagement, I finally made it back in to Cold Spring PBT to get my second tan. I was informed that I was just too late (by 3 days) and since I was past 45 days there was absolutely nothing I could do. I wish I would've been at the same location I purchased the package to reference the attendant who told me about the vague process-- in Latonia . I was really disappointed I was upsold with invalid information. I'm getting married next year and I will make sure my bridesmaids understand to not partake in similar packages to this one or to completely avoid the business. I doubt I'll be back! If you are in search of a good spray tan in a professional environment: go to Alba in Cincinnati. Same price as PBT, but it is a personal, organic spray tan and not a machine. Just stay away from PBT if you don't have time to deal with unprofessional headaches. This is my first Yelp post and I have never complained to a company, but I felt compelled to warn other people who were looking for a place to tan/spray tan. I went for a few months last year and never had a problem, so I put my account on hold for the summer. They charge you $8 something a month for this, but you get they credit this money to your account. I went in a few weeks ago to open my account back up and get a spray tan. The consultant was very motivated to sell me a lotion with the money I built up. She was showing me $80-100 lotions telling me I would only pay $30 (with my account money applied). I politely listened without interrupting her (mostly because I used to work at a chain tanning salon and knew it is her job and how she makes money). I then told her I wasn't even sure I wanted to continue tanning so I didn't really need a lotion and asked if I could use the money toward my spray tan or toward my next month's fee. She told me that the money could only be used for retail. I told her that was not made clear to me when I put my account on hold, but trying to play ball I asked her if there were any lotions in the store that were within the money I had accumulated on my account (roughly $55). She looked at me like I was crazy and said there are no lotions I could get for "free" that day. (It wasn't free- I had paid the money into my account over several months. It wasn't just given to me.) This entire time I had the feeling I wasn't being told the entire truth, but when she told me there were no lotions under $50 I knew she was lying. My fiancé had purchased a lotion for me with money from his account just a couple of months before (roughly $30). I should have walked out the door at that point but I wanted to get a spray. So I paid for the spray. I immediately tried to call customer service and it went to voicemail. I then emailed my issue knowing I wouldn't get an answer from the local salon employee. Corporate emailed explaining that The money on my account could not be used for future months' payments but could be used to pay for spray tans or products. I then informed them that the employee charged me for the spray tan when she could have used my account money and that due to this I was done with their company. I finally went in today to see if another employee was working who could help me. The same girl was working. She clearly knew about my complaint to corporate because she asked me if I had gotten in contact with her DM and tried to explain away why she had charged me for my spray when she shouldn't have. Note to corporate: don't disclose personal information to your employees about the customers who complain to you. Had I wanted to stay with your company, it would have been completely uncomfortable for me to do so knowing this employee was aware I called her out to her bosses. Completely unprofessional atmosphere. read more

This location of Palm Beach Tan & most of the employees are a joke! My old tanning salon closed so PBT took over. My first visit to PBT was VERY overwhelming. $$$/#'s were being thrown at me and all I wanted to do was simply TAN. Since I had purchased a TWO month package at my old salon, I was reassured that I had the rest of my time to tan (I think until March 10). I went in a week or so ago to finish up my package and I was told I had one session left. I went to the room, stood there for about a minute, then walked out the front door. I was soooo angry that I was told one thing the first day then something completely different at this "visit". I do not recommend PBT and I will NEVER waste my time or $$$ with this place, EVER. read more
