Don't get me wrong there are a few who are not to community minded but we just stay clear from them. The park is ok. It need a lot of little fixer up things like the concrete pads at the sites, the roads, the WiFi is really weak, the pool isn't warm enough and they say it's heated but the biggest thing is the stuff (junk) that people have at there sites is out of control. The management here, Gary & Sherri, do a good job trying to stay on top of things but it's all about the home office and money. I'll keep coming back because of the price and the people.

The family pool was warm and safe for kids. The adults-only infinity pool was a dream. The bar was so close, making it easy to enjoy yourself, and to top it off, you could grab some tacos to keep you full. The music at night was fun while still maintaining a calm environment for kids. All the FIFA games were on for the fans. The drink service was a little slow, but the staff made a great effort. They just need more staff in the bar areas. I would recommend having breakfast, lunch, and dinner early when they open because they get busy, and they are understaffed to keep tables clean and set up for new guests. The bathrooms were a little old-fashioned. I was expecting a sexy shower to really feel those Caribbean vibes in Florida. Housekeeping was not a 5 out of 5, to be honest. The ladies were nice, but there was not much consistency. I'm on vacation--I want fresh towels, a made bed, and soap every day when I come back from the pool and a sunny day. We saw that there was still a lot of construction going on, so I'm hoping to come back and see changes for the better. But for being the first all-inclusive resort in Florida, it is a really close copy of a Caribbean all-inclusive hotel. Every employee was welcoming and friendly. Thank you to the Voco family for a great weekend!

Another gal called the sales department and manager about 10 times and only received voicemail. Two of us tried calling a few days later and received voicemail. Others didn't even bother calling since we didn't have any luck getting through. Eventually my friend just had to cancel these plans.

When local resident and entrepreneur, Mr. Jim Sheehan developed the business 20 years ago, he built the campground and also rented out lake side cabins. Better than RV camping!! Alas, Hurricanes Francis and Charlie chewed up the entire area, including all his beautiful wood cabins and even damaged the huge Herbert Hoover dike ( in 1930's) which surrounds the entirety of Lake Okechobee. And I have to mention the shower--it was honestly the best hotel shower I've ever experienced! We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and two breakfasts at Latitudes. As it turned out, just 2 of us went (the boat can hold up to 12 people), and it was really nice. The boat is simple to drive (no experience necessary). It basically just winds you through nice homes and you can check out lots of boats, not much else to see - but how nice it was to rent for a few hours of relaxing time on the water! Basically, the ride is an hour each way, so the 2 hour route was a nice amount of time on the water. You are welcomed to bring food and drinks with you. I would not recommend planning on stopping and tying off, although you could. I am now disappointed we did not make it out as a group, because this would be even better with a family or group of people.

We boated on a slightly chilly day, but it felt great with some of the covers closed. The route you take from Shepard Park down the St. Lucie is really beautiful, but beware of giant yachts tearing by you (steer into their wake or you might end up with some wet possessions and a spilled beverage). We loved the experience and would definitely do it again.
