Disappointingly it was filed 5 months later with a tax penalty of $3500... We wanted him to tidy up our books, help change our filing status for our business and help with a transfer to QBO. But we were fed lines of crap on why he couldn't help. We switched firms for the 2025 tax season. When they were reviewing and prepping our books for taxes they found several things that should have been corrected a while ago and wondered why we were filing as an LLC and hadn't got a S Corp status. Well we were told we could only apply for S Corp status during a certain time, and we had missed it. Well come to find out that's not true. He could have saved our business a lot of money but he chose not to. Mr. Keeley has "offices"(he's not there and not staffed) in many states. He doesn't go the extra mile for his customers, he barely makes the block. He doesn't want to do your taxes if he doesn't do your books, but I didn't feel comfortable with that considering he never seemed to want to help or answer the phone. He's big on AI help, so that's who answers his phone. If I had a question I was given a very vague response as this was his way of persuading me to let him do the bookkeeping, basically saying I couldn't do it without him. My opinion you could get the same service using turbo tax and would be a hell of a lot cheaper. I would find someone who is more hands on and honest.

Last year I switched to another accountant. When I asked for my depreciation schedules to be sent to me, evidently their responses went to my junk mail. After I left a message asking for a return call or for the depreciation schedules to be sent, I got the attached email response. From my perspective, this was my first email from them. Not overly impressed with the lack of professionalism. Again, a simple phone call saying they had been sent would have solved the problem.
