This is really a negative 1 star! I came for a spiral perm and had asked the receptionist how much it will cost as I saw their advertisement at the entrance. She said if I come between Monday thru Thursday, they'd give me a discount and it would be $75 for my hair length. I have straight hair and it is long reaching my bra strap. I said ok and even met the hairdresser, Mercedes nickname Marcel. I made an appointment for Thursday. Long story short, when I came for my appointment, Marcel said she doesn't do spiral perm! Wtf! Why did you give me an appointment for when I specifically asked about a spiral perm? The store also listed the price for spiral perms on their pricing chart and advertised it as a special at the front entrance. I confronted Marcel and the receptionist and all they said was "sorry, we should take the ad down". Then I told them besides the false advertisement, I asked, "why did you give me an appointment when I wanted a spiral perm?" They just nodded like bunch of morons. What such idiots!? read more

Do not ever go to this place. When I was there, I had to wait 30 minutes because they only had one barber working in there for me and my two other friends to go to. The guy that helped me was friendly. But being friendly only gets you so far. The man that was helping me took no account into what I wanted and turned me away from the mirror so that I would not be able to see my head. On top of that, the man cut his finger open twice as he was cutting my hair. He did not know how to use scissors without cutting himself. If you have any love for your hair, DO NOT GO HERE. This place needs to go so that no one else potentially gets blood in their hair. I have had many friends go here with similar experiences. Help yourself and either find someone else or cut your own hair with school scissors. read more

Ulan is the best in the biz and I desperately need a haircut going on almost 3 months now without one

A reliable barbershop with a good amount of mostly Kazakh & former USSR citizens functioning as expert barbers. One of whom, is the grand hairstylist known as Ulan. If he's in here (I believe he's off on Tuesdays), your in luck if your looking for funkiness atop one's noggin ... or mundane shining, if you prefer. A long wait is required for the good man, however. As a matter of fact, a long wait is required for most of the barbers in here because it's the only hairstyling place in the god forsaken mall. Aside from that, there are a bunch of other barbers who can professionally style one's hair - one section full of the women and one section full of men, I recall. They all can cut hair in a precise manner, regardless of gender if your wondering. While waiting, which can be up to 45 minutes at least, a quick bite can be had because of the barber's close proximity to the cheaply priced food court. Speaking of prices, the barber is a little too high on their bar, but it sure does get the job done. It's ten clams for a haircut and if you a large tipper, be prepared to spend 15$ in total. Special stuff like perms, coloring, and shaves can cost between 15$ to 100$, minus the tip. From my eyes, the barbers do seem to get the job done in an exceptional manner. If your in the mall, or in the county per se, I suggest this place to get that top cropped without many mistakes by the barber's hand. read more

Terrible service and quality, the barber cut my hair in 5 minutes leaving large chunks in the back uncut and the lengths uneven across my head. He did not give me the length and style I requested and did not ask if I was happy with my haircut. He immediately turned to the next person after. I would never go to this place again 0/10. read more

This place is VERY unfriendly and unkind. They do not keep to their own hours. It says online that they're open until 9:30pm. I arrived at 8:30pm and they declined to give me a haircut because "the barbers leave early". They were unapologetic and mad at me for questioning them. Do not solicit. read more

Low price (12$). Walk in short wait times if any. They have a lot of barbers in here. Combine haircut with shopping for the family or lunch. Many options on 4th floor. Good, clean environment both at this shop and in the mall. Average skills, to be expected in this price range. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, it would be too many. My husband went in there for a haircut because the barber he used for many years had retired. He came home looking like someone put a bowl in his head and clipped around it. I was horrified and didn't want to make him feel worse by telling him how bad it looks. They lie about their prices. Says a haircut is 12$ and then they charged me 18$. When I questioned it they showed me the part on the list of prices that says "wash, cut, and style" for 18$. Well, all they did was cut my hair, nothing else. They acted like I was in the wrong when the clearly had no basic logic and terrible costumer service. The hairdresser also rushed through my haircut and refused to cut it to the length that I asked for. read more

-1,000 stars...DO NOT GO TO PALISADES BARBER in the Palisades Mall in West Nyack, NY. It's the 2nd night this week I tried to get a haircut and they wouldn't see me. Sunday night well before closing they only had one barber staffed and there were 2 people in front of me and they made me wait, so I said I'll come back, tonight I went there at 7:50 and the guy said there people in front of me and I should come back at 8:15, when I came back they said they were closed and the first guy had left. I'm done with that place. They can't treat customers like that. I'm never going back there again. read more

This is one of the worse places I've ever been to. I went for a wash and cut and the lady I had spent only a few minutes cutting my hair and when I asked for a wash, she said oh you don't need one. She just rushed through cutting. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Spend your money somewhere else. This place doesn't care at all. read more

Their barbers don't know what they're doing, most of them don't know how to use scissors. Ask for anything other than a standard buzz cut and you are in trouble. The last time I went one of their stylists was annoyed that I had to describe what I wanted to him. Made a remark about how for a 12 dollar hair cut you should be happy with whatever. Not going there again. There is a master cuts in the Palisades mall, it's only like 5 dollars more and they're actually professionals, so go there instead. read more
