I'm accustomed to barbers that work by appointment which this shop does not take but even with the 20-30 minute wait I will still be back. As a side note I brought my 8 year old daughter along and one of the ladies on staff gave her a great haircut so Pablo's will be a family destination from now on.

Park Avenue Hair is located right on Park Avenue in Park Ridge. While there is no parking lot,…read morethere's usually adequate free parking right out front on the street or a neighboring side street. All free. Vinny has been cutting my hair for over 30 years. It's clean, consistent and quick. I'm in and out in 15 minutes as my cut is simple enough. Obviously some men's cuts these days require 30 min. If you're one of those, make it clear when calling to book an appointment. Appointments do need to be made over the phone and they also only take cash or checks. No credit cards here. They do all sorts of hair services - perms, colorings, prom cuts, men, women. And, prices here are very affordable compared to every other place around. Call and ask - you'll be shocked! A bathroom is located in the back for customers. Try them out and I think you'll be pleased with the experience of cost and cut.

I'm not a particularly patient guy, and I do have a good amount of standards when it comes to my presentation so I don't just go into a shop and come out with a $5 haircut happy... but I have to say due to my impatience, I walk in and get a cut from anyone that's available. GOOD news is that everyone that's at the shop is more than capable and perfectly cuts my hair the way I want every time. Each professional just knows what kind of cut I need to be the most flattering and they help me get there. Everyone that's cut my hair there is extremely polite and very professional. They are very courteous and gentle. There are days where I feel like chatting and others where I don't, they don't make me feel awkward for being quiet or don't bother me to keep talking about random things. I've had some genuinely nice conversations with Joe about the neighborhood and current events. I just feel so great whenever I go in. I'm writing this lover overdue review because I am already planning to go tomorrow morning for a cut, and I know it's just going to be the perfect experience to kick off my weekend! Thanks to everyone at Dominick's for an amazing cut every time!! Oh, and since they moved, I am in awe of how absolutely beautiful the new place is! It is absolutely spotless, great lighting, and the ambiance is freakin fantastic! I feel like I am getting the VIP treatment there. GREAT decision to move to the new spot!

I used a barber- better, but there were drawbacks. Then I found Little Shop of Shears, and W O W ! Have I found *my* place! Beth and her staff have all been cutting/coloring/styling for a loooong time. The shop is modest, not fancy. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly- and what was missing from all the other places I tried. Your hair is the point of focus, which seems like an odd thing to remark on- unless you've been to places where trendy, hip decor and embellishments are what it's all about. This isn't *that* place! I'm a real wash-wear-go type; I dislike busy/fancy hair (unless it's a 'do for a formal function, in which case, bring it ON). I frequently have had issues with hairstylists trying to "convince" me to change that. Here, I have never felt like someone was trying to do that. This isn't to say they don't do fancy 'dos, because they DO do 'dos (say that 3x fast!); they don't push them where they are unwelcome. They LISTEN. If your stylist isn't making you happy, go HERE.
