Easy appointments, clean and professional shop, cool place to get your hair done no matter your age

Usually have a good time with Chris, I think his name is. Great vibe in there and come out with a good cut most times (there was one time I walked out with uneven sideburns with a different barber but I don't think he works there anymore). A bit pricier than other options in Rockland. read more

I've been coming here for years and have never had a complaint. All employees and barbers are nice, respectful and do wonderful work.

First time at DSZ barbers and it was great. Great haircut from Pablo, great ambiance and great service. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent service all the time. Hillary always makes sure I schedule ahead and Carl is a very skilled barber! Call today :-). JayD

came in not knowing what to expect not from the area but heard good things about dsz stopping in around 10:30AM didn't have an appointment but called ahead of time and the front desk receptionist said they do walk-ins and fit them in between appointments thought that waiting for an hour that there would be at least one availability... as there were about 5 staff barbers? unfortunately nope there were 3 or so other individuals who looked equally confused and puzzled as i did as we were all just sitting or standing waiting around since we were all told walk-ins are available... i ended up leaving after about an hour of waiting none of the other individuals who were waiting got a walk-in either so... perhaps, don't say you do walk-ins? or at least be upfront that it's a gamble and the odds are better in Vegas? read more

This was an awesome experience. Every time my husband went here, he was so happy with the results. The hospitality and the ambiance are top notch. From the whiskey to the coffee. read more

Took my toddler there for his haircut. The barber did not clean/sanitize or brush the previous customers clippings off before using his tools on my child. He had cut a persons hair that was the complete opposite color of my child's hair color and my child and I had his previous clients clippings all over our clothes, hands and head. We are grossed out by the lack of sanitation and also disappointed by lack experience working with children. Will not return! read more

Flori is the man! From the minute that I walk into this shop I know that I'll be well taken care of by Flori. I don't even have to say anything when I sit in his chair because he knows what he needs to do and he tailors the needs to each of his customers. He's very professional and I trust his judgement when it comes to my beard and hair. For anyone looking for a great experience, go to Flori! read more

Never again. $33 for a bad haircut. That's without a tip. I just wanted a plain old fashion High skin fade with a line. I am not quite sure what I got. The shear amount of questions from the barber(I don't know his name he did not introduced himself)scared me. "He wanted to make sure he didn't cut too much" he asked me if I wanted gel I said yes but did not get it.... No one was particularly friendly or happy to see customers. As a firstimer I expected that barber shop hospitality... there was none. I'll be back to my regular cheap no frills barbershop in 2 weeks. $27 including tip for a fade a beard shaping conversation and a hand shake. Sorry DSZ I came for a hair cut not to visit an antique store. read more

Was in town for an ongoing family emergency, and hadn't had a proper haircut in months. They were able to squeeze me in on two seconds' notice, and gave me a fantastic unisex fade. Very fair pricing, very VERY clean, great atmosphere, good product selection, and very friendly to all kinds of folx! Veronica did my cut but honestly all the cuts in all the chairs looked fantastic. 100% would recommend to anyone!! read more

DSZ is simply the best barber shop around in the Bergen, Rockland & Westchester region. Their shop is well decorated and barbers and receptionist are talented and attentive to your needs. I personally get my hair cut and styled by Flori. His chair is right by the door and he always greets his costumers with a smile and a hug. When it comes down to the cut, it is always right! He can do it all, scissor, razor, clippers. He can fade, blend and freestyle. He can cut any style from classic to modern looks. I always switch it up with him, we'll chat about what I'm looking for and even show him pictures and we then make the best cut for me. He is also a master with the straight blade hot towel shave. Beats any shitty shave you'll give yourself at home. Check him and all the other barbers out at DSZ in Nyack, NY read more

Trust me...skip it. Been going to this place religiously (once a month) since I moved to the area 2 years ago. I pass a dozen other shops to get to it, but it always seemed to be worth it until recently. Started out with a walk-in appointment about a month ago where I got paired up with an absolute hack of a barber (name withheld to incentivize you to not roll the dice and walk out of this place worse for the wear)...unfortunately I had to leave town for work, which meant I had to walk into ANOTHER shop the next day and pay again to fix what these guys did to me before stepping in front of anyone in a professional setting. Today, I walked in for my pre-arranged appointment (again, not gambling on a walk-in EVER after the last experience) only to be told that they had screwed up my reservation and couldn't fit me in with my barber of choice until the following week. Obviously I was a bit upset that I had planned my day around this appointment and thought surely they'd be able figure something out, but instead I just got a half-hearted "Sorry..." from the receptionist while the shop's owner stood there mouth-breathing at me, seemingly unwilling (or perhaps incapable?) of resolving the situation. I have no patience for hacks, and even less for unprofessional cowards who leave their employees to take fire on the frontlines while they sit back - if you agree, or just don't want a haircut you have to pay to get fixed the next day, don't believe the hype and pass right on by this place. read more

My husband comes here for his haircuts and always asks for Flori. He does an amazing job! From the fade to the clean lines around the back of the neck to the overall haircut- not one strand of hair is ever out of place! Parking is on the street and usually pretty easy to find. The interior of the barber shop is awesome too- very old school and makes you feel like you're in another era! Highly recommended! read more

One of the best haircuts I've ever had. I was passing through town while on tour w a band and and really needed a haircut. I was lucky enough to get Roman, he is a straight up artist. The attention to detail and care he took is second to none. Im sure the rest of the stylists are great as well but I can't recommend Roman enough. read more

I took my little man for his first haircut today and we had the most wonderful experience. Alan was a superb barber and made our day. Thank you Alan! read more

Recently came here to have my 18month olds first haircut and it was such a wonderful experience! It was recommended to me by another parent but when I told some friends about the plan they said "the barbershop where you drink whiskey?" I said I guess so and wasn't quite sure what to expect. It was a perfect experience! Everyone who worked there was so kind, friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The shop that you walk into is very cool and hip but then they have another room with a designated kid's seat that was so great. Our barber, Veronica, was so nice and listened to what we wanted for him. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Our son had a blast and got a wonderful hair trim:) read more

Was in town for a friend's wedding and needed a quick trim. It was a bit expensive as I only trimmed my sides but they still counted that as a full cut ($33) but Mel cut it so nicely that I didn't mind paying that much. read more

This is the best place to get your haircut if you like having nice haircuts and being treat nicely. The aesthetics of the place are great, parking is easy, appointment was easy to make. Huge shoutout to Florim!! He is nothing short of a MASTER barber. My friend also got a haircut on the same day and had a similar experience. The cut was 29 and they gave us a complimentary espresso to go with it. There are cheaper places to cut your hair but it's going to reflect your haircut. You pay for what you get! Definitely coming back. read more

This place takes appointments but does not honor them. They try to squeeze in walk in customers and the people with appointments have to wait around. It's progressively gotten worse and today is the final straw. After giving them my business the past four years, I will no longer. read more

I can't even begin to rave about this nostalgic and classic barber shop. You walk in and you're automatically taken back to days past when parlors were the big thing. You're immediately greeted, either by the front desk person or by the owner Steve. Once greeted you're offered a beverage and you can sit and read a magazine until a barber is ready. They're all Master Barber trainer and offer the best haircuts in the area. I personally travel from Jersey, which takes about 40-45 minutes just to see Carl. Anyone there will offer a fantastic haircut. And for the MEN; I highly recommend their hot towel shave! Their service is an elite experience you have to go and witness for yourself. On top of all that, they treat you like family and it's honestly such an amazing experience from entering and walking through the door, to when you leave feeling like a new person. read more

Took my husband and brother to get a straight razor the night before our wedding. What turned into a day of pampering is now our monthly ritual. The vintage atmosphere was stellar, the exceptional service was for for a king, the prices were economical, and the staff was professional and really took their time with attention to detail. Thank you guys for the amazing services you provide. read more

**Making sure to post this on all forums so this place and my barber get the recognition they deserve.** Just moved up to Rockland a few months ago from the city and have been looking for a new barber since. For anyone who as loyal as I am to my barber, you'd understand why I was willing to drive back down to get a hair cut. Sadly, the only person to ever cut my hair retired and I was told about how awesome this place is. I just left and I'll tell you it was the best damn hair cut and shave I've EVER had! Made an appointment for 1pm and when I got here I was directed to John, the awesome barber and fellow Queens NY guy like myself. To the owner, I hope you're reading this because John was the most pleasant and professional barber I've ever been too. That's saying a lot since I've stuck with the same one for 27 years up until today. It's very easy to tell he is a master of his trade. Plus, whoever thought of being able to have some coffee or a drink while you're there getting a haircut is a genius. This place is top notch and as long as John is there, I'll be back. Strong work gentlemen. read more

I got a DSZ Barbers Inc. Gift Certificate for my husband for Father's Day. I paid around $60 for a haircut, and straight razor shave, plus was able to put the tip on credit card. I ordered the Gift Certificate on the telephone, and I was promptly emailed a photo of it. I really had high hopes for this barber shop, as one with dedication, talent, and atmosphere...not to mention that indescribable quality of "feeling"...that is very hard to come by. The atmosphere couldn't have been better. Picture a remodeled saloon of yesteryear that retains the same quaintness of a by - gone era, with all the modern amenities one would expect. Cappuccino upon check in anyone? A nice selection of products, and helpful and friendly (young) staffers rounded out a good impression. However, the actual service performed by Beatrize was...ho hum...just OK, and needed to be finished twice. The hair was even, corners evenly rounded, and the back of the neck shaved, but this service was nothing spectacular, and was surprisingly not as good looking as the Upper East Side barber shop (that also sells and repairs watches of all things) that my husband goes to when in the City. So, if a $12 haircut elsewhere can be technically better performed, and also look better than this quaint little local shop, which charges $30, why bother going to DSZ Barbers? Certainly, you're not saving any money, and you're not getting a memorable haircut. Just OK, I regret to report. All in all, good to visit once, but a loser. read more

Best haircut I ever. Staff is awesome. Even had a scotch while i waited. Didn't have an appointment but they were able to accommodate

I was introduced to DSZ Barbers from my cousin about 3 years ago. I have been going to Flori ever since. He takes his time and makes sure you always walk out happy with your cut. I haven't changed my hairstyle much, but recently Flori suggested I make a change and I couldn't be happier with the results. He takes the time to know his clients and gives you the best possible styling. Plus, the guy is always dressed to kill, and who can not love that. Best barber in the NY/NJ area 100%. read more

After spending a lot of time at upscale barber shops like J allens and freeemans in the city I was really concerned about the bowl cuts out in the burbs until I found this awesome gem a few years ago. I'm not one for posting a lot of reviews but time and again Steve and his team have provided excellent service (with espresso / whiskey!) to me and my two sons (3 and 6- candy for them, no whiskey/coffee) in an immaculately clean and beautifully appointed space . Getting a haircut here feels like an experience - one that me and my boys share as a family and a tradition. If there were 50 more stars I would give them 100. Try it out and you won't be disappointed. Also there a really great kids pony chair that makes for awesome first hair cut photos .... just saying read more

I found this place on Yelp. I moved from NYC to North Jersey and was looking for a barber. I decided to go with Flori. I showed him some pics of how my previous barber in NYC cut my hair, and he cut it exactly the way I wanted it. He was very attentive to the detail, extremely skilled & professional, and kind. The whole experience was so nice: I set up a reservation and it was on time, haircut took about 10-15 minutes, and ended with a straight blade. I'm feeling like a million bucks, and I plan on coming here to Flori every month now. read more

Flori is the best! I drive from Boston to to Flori three hours each way and always does the best job -- best there is in the business

Writing this on behalf of my husband. We're staying in the area and he's very particular about his beard! This place is beautiful and smells amazing! The wood stations, the chairs, everything looks legit. If I had a beard I would definitely come here to get pampered (that sounds weird but true.) The front desk staff is great and offered us something to drink. The espresso was delicious! My husband says it was a great experience. He didn't get her name but the only female worker there took care of him and he said she did an amazing job. He said he felt like a million bucks. Too bad we're not from here but something just like this would be amazing near us. Oh, before I forget..$20 for a razor shave, hot towel pampering..Not bad at all! read more

Got my haircut here today. Probably one of the best cuts I've had and overall a pleasant experience. The barber, the owner, and everyone I encountered there were very friendly and professional. There are just so many amazing things to say about this establishment. Carl, who had done all my haircuts in the last 4 months, is always friendly and always over up advice and suggestions. Very personable and professional. The shop is always clean and you are always greeted with a friendly hello. They even offer you a drink while you wait for your appointment. On top of that, they always have great music playing in the background. My bill is always $29 and I always leave happy. read more
