From the outside, it may look a bit unassuming--certainly not "high-end"--and the menus are quite basic. However, if you can look past that, you'll discover a place serving truly delicious and authentic North African cuisine. The owners themselves handle the service with great attention to detail. A particularly charming highlight was the owner's joy and enthusiasm; he even sang while serving tables, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt like dining with family. We tried the lamb couscous and chicken couscous, both served with fresh vegetables. The portions were generous, well-prepared, flavorful, and reasonably priced. We are giving 3 stars, since 4 and 5 stars we'll keep for other, more high end sophisticated restaurants. But for a well priced lunch, excellent food and great ambiance... this is a 5 stars

The couscous with mixed grilled meat (lamb, sausage beef) and veggies was a bit bland for my liking. The sausage was delicious. Great service!

First reservations are a must if you want to have a table so just be aware of that…read more The food choices are mainly traditional Alsatian dishes. The highlights of our meal were definitely the foie gras which was made by the chef and tasted great, and the Spaniard Pork which was well prepared and melted in the mouth. The rest of the dishes: choucroute, fish were good but nothing spectacular. The restaurant has different rooms and the experience might be different depending on where your table is located but in general the tables are far apart so you can easily carry a conversation without being spied on by your neighbors and the atmosphere is nice. A slight bémol, the service could be improved. It is good but not 100% with small mistakes: wrong side dishes brought to the table as opposed to the ones ordered, a bit slow at time. Overall still a good experience.

I am still slurping this sauce in my dreams after returning from my trip to Colmar.

Which turned out to be the smart thing...the place was almost fully booked. After entering we were accompanied to our table by our waiter. Our English Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered a bottle of Crèmant d'Alsace (pink), Foie Gras (mi-cuit) and Oysters for starters. Both excellent choices. The foie gras was nice sized (two pieces), very smooth and tender. The oysters were soft and creamy, tasted very fresh. For the mains we ordered the beef steak with morels and sides and the Steak Tartare. The beef was pretty good, nice meat. But the highlight was of course the morel sauce. Plenty of wonderful tasting morels. The steak Tartare is pretty famous here and is prepared right at the table. A huge amount of the best and freshest raw beef. Never had such a big sized steak tartare before...and I've had many. And it wasn't just the biggest, no. It was also the very best Steak Tartare I've had so far. The Crèmant went very well with both the starters and the mains. It came together at around 150 Euros. Which is well priced for this kind of dinner. Classic french cuisine in a classic setting. Very cosy, very stylish. Friendly and attentive staff, great quality food. Really enjoyed our dinner here.

Came here for dinner on our last night in lovely Colmar. We made a reservation a few weeks before…read morethe visit - even though it was a weekday. But that was a good thing. The place was fully booked - several people were turned away during dinner. Staff and owner here are really friendly, very helpful and extremely attentive. You really feel welcome and taken care of here. Fantastic. After the complementary Amuse Bouche we got our starter: The Foie Gras (duck AND goose). Two generous slices of the best quality. Smooth silky, great flavours. Loved it. Also good to share (since our main was pretty big). Then we went for our main: Bouillabaisse! A rich fish soup, one of THE famous classic french dishes. Here it gets presented in three servings. So it's a pretty big, filling meal. The broth - the soup itself - was really full of wonderful flavours. Great balance of spices and salt. The first plate came with lobster tail. On the side was crispy bread, mustard and shredded cheese. Put the mustard on the bread and the top it with cheese. Put it in the soup, soak it for a short while and eat. Great combination! The second and third serving came with different kinds of fish. All of high quality. All with very few fishbones. After three plates each the Bouillabaisse was gone...and we were pretty full. A really fantastic meal, great Bouillabaisse. It is only served from two people and up. Other items on the menu looked very good as well. But maybe for another time. Definitely a great restaurant. Starter, bottle of Crémant and Bouillabaisse for two for around 150 Euros. Fair price for a Michelin Restaurant of this quality. Highly recommended.
