Nicely located next to the central square of the village, you find this restaurant. It is…read morespecialized in local food, especially in cheese. On a warm day in spring we found a nice place of the terrace and ordered two glasses of wine (Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner), a bottle of water and two Flammkuchen. The location had some magic, viewing white storks and the medieval square. So far so good....
What went wrong? One of the wines, Sylvaner, was not good. It was clearly oxidized, a typical wine faults. Sending the glass back and I received a new one, however exactly the same fault (same bottle?). The waiter apparently concluded that is wan't my taste, bit told me this how the Sylvaner should taste, a bit arrogant. I'm sorry for the waiter, I've drinken bottles of Sylvaner before both from Alsac as well as from various places in Germany and I know how a good Sylvaner can taste. This was a fault. The other wine (Pinot Blanc) was okay, it was below average from quality and not promoting the good wines in the region, but it was do-able.
What remains: the Flammkuchen was mediocre, not with a special praise not any complaint.
