Whatever your issue is, avoid this doctor at all costs! I consulted him 20 years ago, having been referred by another doctor (a PhD) for removal of four moles on my face. For reasons I will never understand, he suggested--practically insisted--that I have a procedure done on my eyes. My EYES???!!! They were my very best feature and always had been. But I had never had surgery of any sort and was naive enough to think, well, I guess he knows what he's doing. I was so very very wrong. He literally RUINED this very beautiful--indeed, compelling--facial feature! Then, 14 years ago I needed reconsuctrive surgery after a double mastectomy. I had the knowledge then to interview various doctors (3) and only because I had been to him in the past and selection in this area is limited,I consulted him about that. His "take" was shocking and totally unacceptable! I am a petite individual and had small breasts (which I was always fine with), and he suggested essentially that he implant something like a "va va voom" bust! I couldn't get out of his office fast enough. Then, today, I had a consult with a highly professional and skilled plastic surgeon for a minimally invasive procedure to merely restore some youthful attributes, and I told him about my experience with this doctor. He was kind but honest: He said that he could see--even all these years later--what said doctor had done and that he had done it extremely poorly. Alas, however, there was nothing to be done about such an ill-advised and unnecessary surgery. I was devastated all over again. Please be forewarned about him. He is knife-happy and arrogant and a predator. God knows I wish somehow someone had told me about him years ago. read more

I went to Dr. Palaia to discuss and upper and lower Blepharoplasty. I had significant bags under by eyes and hooded eyelids. He suggested I also consider a fat transfer as I have a long narrow face and he said if I did not, I would look hallow. At first I was nervous but he reassured me it would look completely natural so I took his advice. I had the surgery in May 2022. The recovery isn't terrible, minimal pain more discomfort. He saw me every week for three weeks to monitor my healing progress and then a three month follow up. Every step of the way, he reassured me. I am so happy I had the procedure, it looks very natural. I had been thinking about and talking about it for years to have a breast reduction. They were large and heavy. The older I got the more they hung, and my back, shoulder and neck pain continued to get worse from my body posture. A friend had referred me to Dr Palaia after her surgery and she was ecstatic with her results. I went for my consult, and new he was the surgeon for me, and I was then anxious and excited at the same time to get it scheduled. Bedside manner was pleasant, calming, and sincere. I spent a lot of time researching the field and talking to people before my consultation with Dr. David Palaia, regarding a partial face lift. My daughter went with me and we both were very impressed with Dr. Palaia and his very caring staff. He addressed all of our concerns and explained everything he would do and how he would do it. I am a 12 year breast cancer survivor. I went to Dr Palaia to have my second set of implants replaced. I don't have a good track record, having already had reconstructive surgery after a bilateral mastectomy, followed by total implant replacement in 2010 - neither of which were performed by Dr Palaia. I believe I presented as quite a challenge given the state of my current implants, the thin skin and the fact that I've had multiple surgeries. I LOVE the way I look since my surgery and much more importantly, for the first time in 12 years -- I no longer feel the tightness and discomfort that I had learned to live with since my original surgery. In my first consultation with Dr Palaia what I really appreciated was his honesty. He told me that he couldn't make any promises as to whether the surgery would or wouldn't relieve my discomfort. He told me exactly what he was going to do (which is leading edge reconstructive surgery). Things have really changed/improved in the 12 years since my original surgery and Dr Palaia is an outstanding plastic surgeon who is highly skilled in these new procedures. I had rhinoplasty surgery with Dr. Palaia and he was so amazing! Every in-office visit, both pre and post-operatively, he was so attentive and kind. It has been about 6 months since my surgery and I have never felt more comfortable with myself. Dr. Palaia has helped me to feel more confident with my face. Dr Palaia has ruined the quality of my life...his poor judgement and lack of skill has ruined my face. He is arrogant and unprofessional. He did a deep plane facelift which was not discussed with me beforehand, a procedure I absolutely did not require...he has overly tightened muscles in my face distorting my face...I have the "Kim Novak" look...it is disfiguring and emotionally devastating ...I have sought help from a well known reconstructive surgeon...I am hopeful something can be done to help me...his written diagnosis of my face is "acquired facial deformity". I am living a nightmare...my advice to anyone seeking cosmetic surgery by Dr Palaia is to steer clear of him. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Palaia in July 2016 and scheduled my revision rhinoplasty surgery for the following month. I had made an appointment with Dr. Palaia to discuss options to improve the look of my nose. I had two rhinoplasties twenty five years ago and they were both equally disfiguring.
