I am day 5, post-surgery, still some black and blue, but the results are far better than expected. After dealing with a lifetime of GYNO, I decided at the age of 55 to do something about it. I figured it was now or possibly never. I have always been fit and athletic, but the year prior to surgery, I decided to embark on an aggressive CARDIO program to eliminate what I was hoping was fat in my chest area. A year later, I felt the GYNO was even more noticeable due to the fact the rest of my body was slim, but my chest issues were now more obvious. I visited 3 known GYNO docs including Dr. Blau. The first two establishments made me feel like I was buying a USED car. Aggressive sales tactics are not something you want to see when "purchasing" a surgery. Both these establishments had scared me away from doing the procedure, until I visited Dr. Blau. Dr. Blau's team was professional and gave me more of comfort level to move forward. Although there was no "FREE" consultation and I had to pay $250 to see Dr. Blau for a consultation, at least he spent 30 minutes with me and thoroughly explained the procedure and answered my questions without rushing me out. In one prior visit to a GYNO specialist, I met with a 25-year-old salesperson and never even saw the surgeon who would be performing the surgery. Bottom line, all of the above would be meaningless if the results were not in-line with my expectations. The results, although not finalized, are already life-changing and 100% natural looking. My wife as well as myself were concerned that it would appear as "work was done". I can honestly say that is 100% not the case. I would give Blau a zero if I could. He almost killed my husband. My husband had a bleed into his breast tissue (hematoma) following surgery. That is a risk of surgery I get it. It's what happened after. He put him back under anesthesia and explored the hematoma. i spoke with My husband after his 2nd procedure and he was dizzy, pale, tachycardic, unwell feeling. I took one look at him and knew he lost way more blood than Blau was admitting. He was saying he was going to bring him to a hotel and check on him Throughout the night. I refused and told Blau to bring my husband to the white plains ER. He and his MA (who identified herself as a nurse) kept saying he was totally fine. then a few minutes later he is saying he is going to put my husband in his car and drive him to the ER! I Don't know a single doctor that puts patients in their cars regardless of proximity to the hospital that is legitimate And I am a nurse! I called the police to go to the surgery center and force him to bring my husband to the ER. Well the ER doc said that he absolutely needed to be there with a hemoglobin of less than 7. He passed out when he stood up and needed a stat transfusion of 2 units.... And a third 24 hours later. That place and doctor is sketchy at best. He tried to replace blood volume with only fluids. And the results were a C minus at best with retracted skin at the incision sites (on both sides not just the side with the hematoma). Dr Blau does not need anyone's endorsement. In fact he is a pioneer and a giant when it comes to gynecomastia surgery. I doubt if there is anyone of his stature in this particular field. As anyone who is involved in body building knows your chest is particularly important and can make or break you on stage. I found out about Dr. Blau on the internet when I was researching surgeons for a second opinion. After having unsuccessful Gynecomastia surgery, I consulted with Dr. Blau to see whether a second surgery would provide me with a better result.  Dr. Blau was nothing short of amazing from day one. That is manipulating reviews in your favor. How is it fair for patients to make a life changing decision if all they are being fed is positive reviews? You manipulated me to believe everything you told me and in the end nothing you said was true. My surgery experience was nothing short of a nightmare that I ended up with PTSD having to check myself into therapy. My gynecomastia surgery was so botched and I'm now left with 2 huge indention's, permanently damaged nerves due to his over aggressive lipo and constant throbbing/tingling and discomfort every single day since that will never ever go away! My son went to dr Blau to remove tissue from his left breast but Dr Blau left him in a mess. Dr Blau gave my son 99.9% assurance that he will be able to fix his condition but did not deliver. I had a consult w/ Dr. Blau in September 2012 regarding a breast implant revision. I some asymmetry and, just the nature of being an athlete, my breast implants had shifted and didn't look the way they did when I first had them done! Originally found Dr Blau on a male breast forum. During the consult he seemed to try and make it short and sweet and keep assuring me he does these types of surgeries everyday. Well i personally was pressured by this Mary Ann "his secretary" who kept telling over and over Dr Blau really is the best Dr. When I told her i was thinking about going to a different surgeon she keep assuring me Blau is the best and you won't be disappointed. Well the day of surgery I was being rushed from getting ready to know one being able to answer any last min questions. Blau looked nervous that day, sweating and getting patients in and out as fast as he can. To make a long story short the day after surgery both sides of my chest were so badly bruised you couldn't even see skin color. When i went a week later to have the bandages removed i literally cried. One side of my chest looked like someone took an ice cream scooper and removed a chunk of my chest "an indentation" while the other side dented in due to his stupid method of wrapping the chest. The support plate shifted and dug in my chest. If he did it the right way by using a compression garment this could have been avoided. I asked what have you done, he stated don't worry I assure you iv seen this many time it's just swelling and will go away in time, be patient. Also asked, well if i have a huge indentation how is that going to magically fill itself. He stated bodily fluild and natural healing will fill it out. Fast forward 2 months post-op and the indentation is still there, the dent is now a huge lump of scar tissue. The post-op recovery room is a joke to say the least, i felt like i was in middle school clinic. I removed the heart monitor to see how long it would take for someone to come to my aid, well they never did till about 4-5min of listening to a loud flat line. When I confronted Blau on how he was going to fix it, he suggested he take out more fat on the indentation. How can you take out more fat when there is nothing to take because you took out to much to begin with? I suggested aren't you supposed to fill it in with fat? He stated yea yea I can do it. Why is the patient telling the surgeon the proper way of fixing his MISTAKE? Im going to cut this short. Over a year later and seeing other surgeons for pain in my chest it was confirmed i have permanent nerve damage which causes slight pain in discomfort which i have to live with for the rest of my life. The other side has a huge line going across which is a huge ball of scar tissue. I later asked myself how this Dr even have a medical license. Well I later found out he was banned from the website I originally found him for him and or staff making many false testimonials. I do not know if this is true but after going through what i did i would not be surprised. Also I do not think a website owner would go through all that trouble unless he was 100% sure due to legal reasons. Then I later searched through the NY lawsuit directory and was not surprised about what i found. I later used this directory for a Dr i was planning on using to fix this mess cause i had a weird feeling and bam another surprise. So now every time i go to a consult i look up the Dr's lawsuit history because after what i went through i can no longer trust anyone. So not only did i pay a outrageous price, im stuck with permanent pain and discomfort and a chest that looks deformed. ALERT everyone!!! I am a former patient of Dr. Blau. He performed breast augmentation surgery on me. The worst experience of my life. After all swelling went down, I was left with completely uneven breasts. One was too high, the other too low, and horrible large scars under my arms. I had to have another surgeon remove his implants, and place new ones. Even though he offered to correct it himself, I wouldn't trust him with the second surgery.
