We stood there for a good 7 minutes before another party came in, and they finally noticed us. After noticing us, they cleared off a table and immediately got us sat. We were served hot tea upon seating. They took our order quickly. We decided to get the Cold-Noodle with a Beef-Based Broth, Steamed Dumplings, and Seafood Soft Tofu Soup. The first dish that came out was the Cold-Noodle dish, and it was served with hot mustard and vinegar on the side. Our server taught us how to prepare the dish, which is really nice especially for first timers. Their banchan was also good - kimchi and radish kimchi - which are both made in-house. Then our steamed dumplings came, and they were my personal favorite dish of the night. You can tell that they are handmade, and the sauce that went with it was delicious. Finally, the seafood tofu soup was pretty good. My partner loved it, but I think the octopus inside was overcooked. But, I understand that can happen especially since it's served in a hot stone pot. It also came with some clams, an egg, and some zucchini! Just from the layout and design of the restaurant, I could tell that it's an authentic place. The workers take pride in their food, and you can tell with each bite. Would highly recommend for those craving some good Korean dishes.

I tagged along to have some bibimbap that everyone in our family was raving about. This place is in a big shopping center and there are plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant is very nice and clean. There are 2 older Korean ladies taking care of the whole restaurant from seating people to taking orders and delivering foods on a cart. It was so crowded, that the table next to us had to leave due to having to wait too long and their kids getting fussy. We had to wait to be seated and wait to order our food. We got to sit in the back room so I had to go out and reminded the ladies that we're in the back room LOL. I was hungry. The lady came and took order, she's very pleasant although tired of running the whole show. Our order was easy, 5 bibimbaps and 1 Korean famous fried chicken for appetizer. The lady was so happy, yes, it was an easy order. She brought all the traditional little pickles and veggies dishes out for us to nibble before the main course LOL. The family likes kimchi so much that she brought 4 extra dishes for us, which was very nice. The fried chicken was excellent, crispy and tasty and hot, I liked it as always. The prices here are reasonable, less than $30 and average $20. The bibimbap is a little light on the meat and a little light on salt. I need to add the red sauce to make it better.

However, I had a horrible experience with service in May. It was by far the WORST service I've ever received, even based Asian restaurant standards (iykyk). I've always had older servers, usually ladies but on occasion on gentleman. This time, it was a young girl. It was my first time seeing her there. She had no facial expression to start. And after she repeated our orders, it was incorrect so I correct her. She said "I know", and repeated the wrong order again. When I clarified by listing the correct order, she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Isn't it a server's job to take order, and make sure it's correct? I did not take away from the tips because there are other servers who helped bring our food and refill the banchans, but this encounter made me not want to go back for a while, despite how much I like the food. Management - please train your staff about customer service, especially the new hires.

Every time we come here, the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really tell that everything is prepared with care and served fresh from the kitchen. The quality and taste have been remarkably consistent every single visit, which is something I really appreciate. The restaurant itself is always spotlessly clean, and the family who runs it is genuinely some of the sweetest people. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly, and it's honestly adorable when their kids are helping out around the restaurant on some days. There's such a warm, family atmosphere here that makes you feel like you're supporting a real local family rather than just going out to eat. And the ultimate endorsement? My four-year-old calls this her favorite restaurant and asks to come here all the time! Our go-to is usually a bowl of handmade dumpling soup for each person and the fried mandu (one order with kimchi pork for the adults and one order without the kimchi for the kiddo who doesn't like spicy food yet). If you're anywhere in Federal Way and haven't tried Daebak Wang Mandoo yet, put this little gem on your list. Delicious food, generous hospitality, a super clean restaurant, and a family that clearly puts their heart into what they do. Local family owned businesses like this are exactly where I want to spend my money.

I have had their spicy beef soup, spicy pork neck bone soup, spicy soondae soup and spicy pork belly soup so far and have been happy with the portions and spiciness. My little brother really enjoyed their katsu here and shares how it is huge. The to-go packaging here is very well done and the presentation for when you dine in is a good amount for what you pay for. The inside is spacious with tables that can accommodate solo, duo, or group dining. They play soft pop or K-pop while you dine where it's not too loud. Though our recent visit, they suddenly blasted music and it was super loud and started me. In our most recent visit, we ordered the soondae soup with the soondae and meat combo, spicy pork neck bone soup, and cold noodles. The cold noodles were pretty good, wished they had apple or pear slices to go along with it. I loved the texture of the ice slush though. Service here is friendly and the waitress checks in to refill banchans or to check if you need anything else. Strangely enough, they won't let you pack up leftover banchan which I thought was strange and a bit wasteful.

We were also misled in the fact that we thought we could get fried chicken here only to find out they don't have it on their menu anymore. This was during a Friday evening around 6pm, and my friend and I got seated immediately since the restaurant was empty. You've got a lot of tables inside that are relatively clean and seat mostly groups of 4 or so. News in Korean is playing on a TV nearby, and the interior just feels calming with the uniform wooden floors and tables. Menu is limited here though most of it is for their traditional hangover soups. My friend and I wanted some meat dishes so we got both their spicy pork and beef bulgogi on sizzling grills. Both meats came sizzling when brought to our table, though they weren't piping hot from what I remember. Spicy pork was hard to chew at times, and my friend had to spit out one piece because it was too hard. It wasn't too spicy though I think it would have benefited from more spice since the flavor wasn't too strong. The beef bulgogi was both of our favorites, though the color wasn't too appealing and I felt there was a ton of liquid, as if the beef was plated before all the water evaporated from the pan. Service was top-notch for both of us, though. Staff were attentive in answering our questions, grabbing our utensils and getting us water when we asked. I felt this was a one-off visit because we didn't get the dishes this place is more well-known for, so I'll come back again to have their hangover soups instead.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Spicy Negi Ramen (level 4 hot), an order of Gyoza, and an appetizer order of Karaage Chicken. Both of our Ramen bowls were absolutely delicious!! I'm used to eating very authentic Ramen when I lived in San Diego so this was a first for being in this area. It was a great portion size, beautiful presentation and everything tasted so good. I think the egg could've been cooked a little bit less so it would be not so well done so to speak, but it was delicious still. Also, the chicken appetizer was a good, but not as flavorful as some Karaage Chicken I have had. I probably wouldn't order that one again even though it was good, just lacked flavor and was a bit grisly. The service was outstanding. They are very kind and very attentive. The place is very clean. The bathrooms are nicely stocked and very clean as well. The lobby is beautiful and we will definitely be back!

The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?
