The only boutique I'll go to for a bikini! The material is confortable and it's at an affordable price. Some may think it's too expensive, but to have high quality swimwear is very hard to find. Trust me. When I moved to Texas, I couldn't find anything even online! The style and design wasn't what I was looking for. The greatest thing of all is that shipping is $10 on their website! That's not bad! Pakaloha Bikinis has a variety of styles, colors, sizes for tops and bottoms. Try it all to find what you're most comfortable in. You'll look great in all of the styles. IMO The bikinis are very flattering to your body. The tops are on one side and bottoms on the other. If you're not sure, just ask. The staff are very helpful. I was a little intimidated by the setup but once I figured out how to look I was able to find everything I wanted. The material is so soft and the patterns are really beautiful, I didn't think it would be a great suit for swimming but the material is actually really strong and didn't stain with tanning lotion. I really wanted to buy a bikini at this store during my visit to North Shore. Unfortunately the customer service was not what I expected. After greeting me, she followed by mentioning she didn't eat all day. So I asked if she needed me to leave, she said that she'll give me some time to look. And that made me feel uneasy and I thought that was rude. It made me feel as if I have to rush to look for something or just get out. So I left. After an entire day at the beach, not sure why but the husband decided he wanted to treat me to a new bikini! We were in the North Shore area for the Giovani's Shrimp Truck and after eating decided to go bikini shopping at his request. What's funny is this was our first and it ended up being our only stop considering we walked out of here with a brand new bikini set. We walked in and started looking around and initially it was a little overwhelming but then we were approached and helped. After that it was smooth sailing. I love that they have just a couple styles but in all sorts of designs. My husband was looking for something specific but at the same time he wanted something simple - not with any fancy design or anything. Most bikini He says that takes a way from the bikini or is distracting. I was initially kind of shy because I had some crazy tan from our day at the beach already but the girl helping us was a sweetheart and I'm sure she has seen a lot worst LOL. I'm glad I did show her the bikini's after trying them on because I swear I was a small or medium but she explained to me that the bikini's expand or get lose in the water so it's better to get something snug. The quality of the bikinis here don't justice the price tag even when they are on sale. I guess I caught Marissa on a bad morning because after she opened the store a little late she seemed irritated that I walked into the store shortly after. She preceded to tell me to basically wait before I start looking at bikinis because she wanted to organize the store and watch me like a hawk. Fortunately when she noticed I was serious about making a purchase she became nicer and less irritated with my husband and daughters in the store as well. I mean my daughters could have been a perfect reason to mention the fact that they had a kid's line. Smh I'm not sure if her coffee had to kick in first but as a customer I should not feel like I have to step back out of the store after opening time so that you can get yourself and the store together. I totally felt like I was impeding on her time and space. It's not my fault you didn't arrive before opening hours to "organize" which consisted of moving one rack outside (which she stormed in front of me to move). And I was actually looking at the clothes on the rack when she preceded to move it. If the bathing suits weren't so nice I would have left like my husband was signaling me to do. So the better way to welcome a customer when you're not prepared is "Hi, how are you? Your welcome to look around. I will just be moving some things around, but if you have any questions or need assistance just let me know !" Which she said only after she calmed down and made me feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable , which totally takes away from the epicness of my beautiful swimsuit. First off the shop owner and her girls are all super cool, friendly and very helpful. You won't leave the shop with a bikini if it doesn't fit right. I visited the shop in Haleiwa near Radio Shack twice and their van at the pipe masters surf contest just once. They were having an epic sale on all their discontinued inventory with baskets of bikinis to sift through. I walked away with 3 tops and 3 bottoms. It should have been 7 pieces, but I noticed one was missing from my bag when I got in the bus. So, I quickly got off the bus and walked back to get the super hot green patterned missing piece, and they were ever so nice in doing so. Unfortunately, during my walk back to the Pakaloha van with a bum toe....I must have dropped my solid black ruched bottom. *insert hysterical crying emoji face here*. Some lucky girl at Pipe will be going home with a brand new bikini bottom. :( With tops and bottoms in every color of the rainbow plus prints and a variety of styles(multi wear tops etc), they have something for everyone. You can get normal bottoms or ruched bottoms. And don't think for a minute that you can't fit into them at first glance. Looks are super deceiving. I thought to myself, uhhhh, these bottoms look like they would fit a twelve year old. However, to my pleasant surprise the bottoms fit quite nice! Perfect actually. Mind. Blown. So give yourself a chance before just looking and leaving. You'll thank me later. ;). The tops were all very comfy yet secure as well. Win win. I definitely felt secure in the fit more so than the bikini I bought on the north shore last year when I wiped out and almost came out in my birthday suit. One thing that drew me in was that they are made for surfing. Needless to say, the colors and prints are great, the fit is great and I'm excited to kick it in these! I could wear these swimming, relaxing in the sun, surfing or doing other water sports and spare the random boogie boarder a flashing of what my mama gave me. Surf lesson is tonight and I'll be in my Pakaloha bikini. ;) PS...if anyone reading this found my black bottoms, I'd really love to have them back( I know it's a far cry, but stranger things have happened!) I really loved Pakaloha Bikinis because the cut of the bottoms are super flattering and stay on well for surfing. I am super bummed at the poor service I've received, though, and won't be shopping here anymore. I own quite a few of their bikinis in lots of different shades, and have only had issues with the ones with green dyes. The last one I bought discolored the first time I wore it. I had previously let them know about this issue just as feedback for them to use, but I was very disappointed when they refused to let me exchange my top after it discolored from one wear, especially considering they've used my photos on their Instagram and I've been a repeat customer and promoted their brand to friends. The service at the maui store has always been very friendly, but I can't say the same for the oahu store. The girls always seem annoyed to be bothered by customers. It's sad for me because I really loved this company and I loved supporting a local business. Today was completely different and I had a amazing experience. I walked in and Megan was amazing. The bikini's themselves are incredibly flattering for all shapes and sizes, and come in all colors of the rainbow. However, the sales girl that working that day was rude to the point that I almost walked out of the store without trying anything on. It was as if until she confirmed that I was buying something that she changed her attitude. Now that I know how the store works (the colors run down the walls in the different styles) I would go back to get another suit, but not sure how I had a different experience than others... She was super patient in helping me find the perfect bikini for my figure, super body positive, listened to my needs - I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's my new fave bikini after years of giving up on them and settling for boring one-piece suits. The sizing at PakAloha is also much more appropriate, as opposed to San Lorenzo down the street, which has beautiful suits - but if you're larger than a B-cup or size 4 jeans you'll be totally out of luck.
