First, this company has obviously changed hands recently, and the first thing they did is dramatically increase their prices by 2.5 times--that is a huge increase way above the highest amount of inflation. Absurd! How can their justify that?? Second, they no longer post a contact number on their billing, seemingly not being interested in communicating...maybe not wanting to be contacted? The toll-free number (877-724-7638) they do post for customer service, does not work. You can get through but the reception is very flawed, broken up, and not fully functional. And then it abruptly hangs up. I am not a techy person but it seems like they have altered numerous processes, seemingly making it more user-unfriendly. For many years Pair Networks was a great company; uncomplicated, service-oriented, user-friendly, efficient, reasonable in cost for their services, and just easy to deal with, especially if there was a service concern or issue. Now, I wonder and have serious questions, the main one being their ridiculous price increase. Inflation in its numbers and percentages, takes all factors into the equation, so how and why does their new ownership feel justified (in their mind) to raise fees from 35 dollars (which the old Pair raised from 29 dollars apx. a year ago or so), to the new fee of apx. $100.00?? read more

We've been with Pair Networks for over 15 years. They took down our sites without notice. They charged us $250 up front for "security repairs" but still have not put our sites back up. When we call we get a switchboard person who says they cannot help us and there is nobody we can talk to. We have been emailing back and forth but this does not seem to work. I have been using Pair.com hosting for over ten years. All of the websites of my small business are hosted on pair. These range from small retail sites that receive a couple thousand visits per day to a large popular site that receives millions of visits per month (that means during busy times of the day several visitors per second will enter the site and hundreds of people will be simultaneously using the site). With all of that traffic and development activity I have never had a problem with pair. With all of that traffic and development activity if I was experiencing problems I would have moved off of their servers quickly- because downtime is very costly for a high traffic website or a busy retail website. My sites are now on or have been on Pair's shared hosting, high volume, virtual private servers and dedicated servers. I have received the same high quality of service at every level. Across ten years with many websites, my sites have never (meaning not one single time) been down for more than a few moments while upgrades were done or drives were replaced. I have obtained support from pair many times by email and phone. Their email support is reasonably fast and support by phone is immediate and excellent. The phone support is always with a person who speaks excellent English and also makes the technical details easy to understand. Anyone who has used multiple web hosting services will know that what I described above is exceptionally rare. I stopped worrying about hosting once all of my sites were moved to Pair. Update: October 2016... Over 12 years and over 1 billion pageviews on Pair. read more

I have been with Pair Networks since 2002 and there is a reason for that, they are great at what they do. Correspondence with the Pair team is quick (receive a response typically within 30min to an hour with the support team - sometimes even less) and usually within one email everything I need is addressed entirely. Their staff are also friendly, professional and knowledgeable which is helpful when you have to talk with them (have dealt with other hosting companies and the customer service was lacking). Out of the time I have been with Pair, I have only had my website down "ONCE" due to server problems in March 2012 (which they helped me with by transferring me to a new server). Though the price you pay for hosting is a bit on the pricey side, you sometimes get what you pay for and what I am getting is worth every penny! As long as Pair keeps doing what they are doing, I will be with them for life! read more

I am a webmaster and one of my clients happen to have this server. I'll mention few things here and leave it up to the reader to decide. - This hosting server charges $2.95/mo extra for Software Installation Manager. Which means auto WordPress installation is not free (whereas most of other hosting servers offer this free.) - Even if you manage to install wordpress, (assuming that you are a geek like me) via FTP access, you cannot auto update wordpress. read more

I have my business website and email hosted with Pair Networks. Support is always easy. There is little to no wait time to speak with a support person. They have always been very helpful. Today they did a great job retrieving important emails that I accidentally deleted from my business account. They went into the backups and found the emails I needed. They saved the day. This is a total joke of a hosting company. They decided a CMS was out of date on one of our sites, and then completely disabled the site without notifying anyone at our company first. They then sent an email telling us to update the CMS so the domain could be re-enabled. However, pair.com completely removed all access to the site. We cannot connect via http or ftp in any fashion. Now we are stuck moving a site to another host ASAP because we can't get anyone at pair on the phone (or email) to regain access to the site to update the CMS to their specifications. A simple request to update the CMS with a couple of days to do so, would have been the responsible and courteous thing to do. We have had this happen on another host over the years, and that is how it was (properly) handled. Unless you're ok with your host taking your site offline with no notice, completely removing your access and then being unresponsive to rectify the situation, stay away. read more

I have moved my personal site to another server but still have a client I setup with Pair. last month they scheduled a downtime albeit short, during a workday at 12 noon. This is unacceptable and leaves no room for error if the outage runs long. Our site is used for appointment making and lunchtime is when many people take care of these things. I would have appreciated if the upgrade/downtime was scheduled for off hours. I'm seeking a new server for them. read more

Been with Pair for around 10 years. 5 years ago I'd give them 5 stars, today things have changed dramatically. We had a major issue with our server and we never heard from our account advisor (NEVER heard from him in 10 years, actually), and their support said they wouldn't help fix it. Not exactly what you'd expect from a company you've been with that long to be treated that way. It's sad. read more

I've been with Pair since 2006. I've never experienced any down time and have had only a couple of occasions to contact support. Both times response was prompt, accurate and helpful. Neither time was it because of a "problem", but rather because I was having trouble figuring out how to do something. Although there have been times I felt their help screens could use some improvement, I'm extremely satisfied and have recommended them to several friends and acquaintances. I've heard no complaints form anyone and can't imagine ever going to another provider. read more
