After finding an article about painting with a twist, a small group of us visited. What a great place. The instructor couldn't have been better, dealing with us can be extremely trying, and the fun we had painting. Mine still hangs in the house. read more

To expensive and it's like they didn't take time to allow us to be creative it was so rushed don't go to date night paint night way dinner more time consuming too. Experience is much better and 1/3 of the cost read more

My wife, her sister, and husband, and I went to a 2-hour painting session at Painting with a Twist last night with the "Autumn in the Air" painting and Hanna as our instructor. We purchased the canvas and also opted for an $8 glass of vino to help get the creative juices flowing! The two hours were fun and the instruction by Hanna was great. We used acrylic paints (which were easy to work with), and three sizes of brushes: The Big Mama 1", "The Bob"...aka Bob Ross medium-sized, and the "Baby" (thin) brush. Hanna was a wonderful - and patient - instructor, and being the first time painting made it all a lot of fun. She walked around, helping folks and responding to everyone's questions. She provided additional paint as needed, and the whole experience was very pleasant. Hanna took pictures of all of us at the end (using our cell phones), and all four of us left with our canvases! A good time was had by all! We'll be back....maybe for the black-light painting event...but next time we'll bring our own three brushes as the ones provided were a little bent at the brush end. Four Stars. read more

Had my 35th birthday party here and it was AMAZING!!!! We rented out the whole place and I had 30 of my closest friends and we had an absolute blast! We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks which was so fun. We also were able to plug in my phone to listen to my birthday playlist which was such a fun vibe! 10/10 recommend this place! Melisa was our instructor and she was so cute and patient with all of us. Shylo also helped us out and was amazing. Seriously such a fun experience! Oh my initials are NP btw, I don't like using my real name on yelp lol. read more

Our "instructor" was Annie. Instructions were incomplete and rushed. Brushes seemed to be poor quality. Unable to make a sharp point or straight line. Would have been nice to have a knife for mixing colors. Moved fast and never checked for understanding. By the time we had the right color mixed she was done painting that feature. Would not recommend to friends. read more

Even if you can't be in studio, you can have a good time. Painting with a Twist proved that to be true last nigh with their virtual paint class held via YouTube live. We pre-registered and picked up our kits the day before, then logged in to the provided link when it was time for the class to begin. The night was Harry Potter themed and the instructor did a phenomenal job of including trivia, puns and discussion to keep the participants engaged. Her instruction was clear and her fun personality shined through. I appreciated the effort she made to really ensure everyone had a good time. I'm looking forward to things opening back up so I can go to the studio and do another paint night-in person-soon. read more

Super fun and entertaining The set up was easy and the group was ready for a good time! The artist was great! Had a blast read more

My boyfriend and I participated in the at-home paint night. Picking up our kit was easy (although it had to be by 5pm, which was hard to coordinate with work when I usually am not off until 5pm). Logging onto the live YouTube was easy. I hooked it up to my TV for a bigger screen. Our teacher was fun and cute. She moved quickly, but there's a replay option with YouTube, too. During the paint drying breaks, we did Harry Potter trivia, so that was fun. This was my first ever paint night. I never thought it would happen at home instead of in studio, but I'd definitely try it again! read more

This is a fun date night, girls night, family night or any time that's not night activity. It's the perfect opportunity to get out and try something new and in some ways therapeutic. Friday night my husband and I had so much fun. We were both so focused on our painting that we hardly said a word and later laughed about that. Our artist Annie was funny, kind and inclusive. We did more than paint, we played Pictionary, listened to great music and attempted to draw mermaids on our heads. I would recommend this spot. read more

Fun experience but for non Utah natives just know they can only legally serve you one alcoholic drink so no need to Lyft or uber lol

This was my first painting experience since my earlier days in middle school, and it definitely brought out a crafty side of me that I didn't know (and am still not sure) exists. The step by step instructions were easy to understand, and by the end I was surprised at how decent the end result turned out. It was a fun experience, but I'm happy I don't paint for a living because it isn't as easy as it looks. Painting with a twist doesn't have a full bar or the option to purchase food, but they do provide a wine "education" for an extra $5. This is basically about a 2oz pour of your choice of Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay or Moscato every 30 minutes. This amounted to a total of 5 pours throughout the entire night. Not a bad deal, but I'm not really sure what kind of an education we were supposed to have gained since the girl doing the pouring just asked which kind of wine we wanted. Overall, I had a great time. Everyone was really friendly and it wasn't a typical date night which was awesome. read more

Had a great time. The instructor was funny, helpful and professional. My only request is that patrons be able to purchase more than 1 wine or 1 beer beverage per person per class. One glass or 1 can almost defeats the point of a wine 'n sip environment. Otherwise, was a fun experience. read more

Painting with a Twist - Getting started on our paintings - Art Classes Near Me - Murray, Utah

What a fun experience! I've never used acrylic paint before. The last time I tried to paint a picture I was 10 years old and using crayola watercolors. To say I was intimidated to try out a paint night is an understatement. However, they make the experience so fun, laid back, and EASY! My husband says my painting is "good enough to put into the guest room closet" and while nobody is going to see it there, at least it's good enough to hang, right?! If you have 10+ people you can book a private party. When you do a private party you get to choose the painting and you can bring your own wine!! We didn't know you could bring your own booze so we bought wine there. They charge $5 and you get four 2.5 oz pours. Pretty cheap! Tasty! This place is fun and Katie was great. Check it out! read more

I was really skeptical about a painting class and tried to bow out of the night with my friends. However, I ended up going and really enjoyed the night. It was easier than I thought it would be. The instructor tried to keep us all motivated and the painting was very conducive to teaching a "phased" approach to painting. Even the novice can follow along and create something you wouldn't mind putting on the wall. I recommend going with a group and reserving the back room to keep things more intimate. Fun night. read more

I loved it! I went by myself and it was hard at first because everyone was with their moms and I lost mine in May.... I have been trying to find something therapeutic and I think I found it here. the staff was great to include everyone like everyone was just one giant group of friends. They were very helpful, encouraging and made me feel comfortable. They reminded us to just let things go and go with what we feel, and relax which is something I am trying to learn how to do. I plan on going back even by myself, it's great way to just let life slow down for a couple hours, it's an upbeat energetic yet chill place to just do your thing. No rules just open creativeness with some helpful tips if you want them. even if your not an artist. I felt like one. (: read more

I've made three visits to Painting With A Twist and this last one was a private party I put together because I've had so much fun! Every instructor is a joy to work with! They walk you through easy steps and also offer one on one if you need it. I'm not artistic, but I'm proud of every painting I've done because they do help you make sure they look good. I took my teen to the first one and we had a great bonding experience. Younger kids were having fun, too, so don't let "all ages" make you think it's a kids class. Don't hesitate to sign up for that picture you've thought of doing! read more

I loved my experience here! I went in unsure of what exactly to expect. I'm not artsy or talented by any means, but the instructor was so helpful and made everything sounds so simple. The entire time I was having so much fun, and feeling comfortable and confident. I came out with a beautiful painting that I'm so proud of! I recommend going with your best friend, or a family member, as that makes it ever more fun! read more

This was FUN! My wife and I incorporated this into our valentines date night and we both had an awesome time! We decided to do something different this year and my wife suggested this and we went for it. I will admit although we were both willing to try we were very intimidated by painting. But the staff did an excellent job. They are very friendly and personal and make sure you're comfortable with the experience. We did a couples painting and it was a lot of fun. You each paint a half of the picture to create the finished painting. The staff dose an excellent job explaining the steps at just the right pace and the paint level is really very easy once you get going. I highly recommend this experience for couples or individuals it was a great way to spend the evening. Plus we now have a beautiful piece of art that WE created! read more

This place is reasonably priced at $35 and run by two of the most down to earth, funny and entertaining gay guys. They make the night super fun by cracking jokes and playing a fantastic variety of music the entire time. When I went they played everything from Lady GaGa to the Beatles! I would highly recommend this place for a fun date night or a night out with friends! They also do a great job of keeping your wine glass full! One guy goes around periodically the entire session filling up people's wine glasses and refreshing beer. read more

My young daughter and I went to a KIDS class last night and had a great time. It was a fun way to connect, while trying something new. The instructor (Brandon), was very personable and enjoyable. It was obvious that he wanted us to have a good experience and even let us choose the music we wanted to listen to while we were there. He was very patient and helpful when my daughter needed a hand with her painting. We would definitely do it again. read more

I really like this business. I have been once with the adult group and a second time with my teenage grandkids during the 'all ages' time. Both were great experiences. I have no artistic talent but they made painting fun and I felt great having some 'success' in producing something that I have since actually enjoyed looking at in my home. I was impressed with the staff. They are organized and make things fun & easy. read more

We had waited so long for an experience like this but had been turned off by the experience our friends had at similar places. This was a brand new experience for me and most of my family. My niece scheduled a party here for my mom's birthday. We try to do something really special each year to celebrate with just the girls in the family. We reserved the private room in the back and it was big enough to seat all 10 of us. Mom picked out the picture we would all paint and the room was all set up for is upon our arrival. The instructor was very patient as she instructed us step by step till we finished our paintings. I must say it was really fun and everyone had a great time. It was fun to see all the different paintings. I don't think I would do this often but it was a very different experience and that is something I do enjoy. read more
