Love this cute art place! My little daughter (4 yrs) signed up for art classes and she has loved…read moreevery minute of it. She loved it so much, she asked me to do her birthday party there! Birthday party was so much fun, the art teacher was so sweet and did amazing with our guest's variable age group (4-8). Friendly staff, cozy cute place for creating art, AND if you haven't already tried the Gelato..... well then you must! It's so delicious and flavors are always variable so keep an eye out because they may not be the same flavors when you come back! Even if you dont do art, at least try the gelato, you wont regret it!

The last time I touched watercolors was in elementary school art class. I'm not a great artist, but…read moreI'm adventurous and always willing to try something once. I found The Art Cottage and learned that they do watercolor classes-and figured I'd give it a try. You do need to call or go online to reserve your spot-space is limited. I called and was able to get in easily for the day and time that worked for my schedule. I showed up a few minutes early and was setup at my station with paint, paper & brushes. I was ready to go! The class was brief-I learned a few basic strokes and techniques in watercolor. Gradient painting where you start very light and work your way into the darkest version of a color. I also learned the "wet on wet" and "wet on dry" techniques and when it would be appropriate to use each. I also learned how to fix mistakes and turn them into more intentional pieces of the art. I really channeled my inner Bob Ross turning things into birds and clouds. After the instruction, I was set loose to do a painting. There were some binders full of examples to provide inspiration, but no step by step instruction, which is different from other canvass/acrylic painting classes I've done elsewhere. I applied the techniques I had learned in the lesson and some suggestions from the instructor. Although my painting might not be one worthy of hanging in a gallery, I enjoyed myself and would recommend taking a class to anyone who might be mildly interested in watercolor.

I am so happy to see that Kidzart is offering Pallet Up summer classes at their studio in Murray!…read moreI discovered these adult art classes when I began taking Art Innovators classes through community ed at the Canyons School District. Their curriculum never repeats so all of the projects are different and they use a wide range of mediums so you get to try new and different ones at every class and they provide all the supplies so all you bring to class is you. Just this past year I have used charcoal, chalk pastels, watercolor, Prismacolor markers and acrylic to name a few. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. The classes are structured so that at the end of each one you have created a finished work of art ready to frame. Best of all, they welcome all skill levels so you never feel intimidated even if you are a beginner like me. If you are looking for art classes that are in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price I highly recommend Pallet Up!

Super cute and fun little activity to do! I feel like this little spot is already doing great, and…read morewill continue to do well here. A fun date night activity, solo activity, or activity for a group of friends/family. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this space! It's decorated very nicely and is really warm and welcoming. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. Nessa and Lucas are the owners and they're both so lovely and wonderful. Jess was there to help with the framing and she was super sweet as well. Workshops are a base price of $45 for the instruction and help, and are 3 hours long. You book in advance online and I believe it's $5 per person to reserve your spot. This activity is on the pricier side, you'll spend a minimum of $90-$100 once you pick out the frame and additional items. The nicer/bigger the frame and glass you select, the higher the price. The smallest size frame you can get is 11"x14", and the caveat to this size is that you have to choose a black or white mat to display your flowers on. Any size above 11"x14" you can display your flowers on the clear glass. Not sure why they do that, probably to upsell you to the larger frames which are significantly more expensive. You can use as many flowers as you'd like from their main flower table, and they have larger ferns and flowers available for $3 each. You have the option to select regular glass or museum glass when you're framing your piece for an upcharge. As someone who isn't super creative of crafty, this activity was hard for me personally to come up with ideas! They do have examples on the wall, but I think I would personally do better with a more structured activity where you are copying an example they have. It's a fun activity and very unique, however it does get pricey quick so expect to spend at least $100 per person. Excited to see them do well here!
