Revival Art House is the perfect shop for any gifts you need or home decor, etc. One of the two owners, Dana, was in the front when I entered and was so patient to answer my questions. She shared that Revival had been open for just over 3 years and sell/display art from over 200 local artists (Louisiana and southern region)! They offer interest free layaway, so if you have your eyes set on something a little over your monthly budget, they work with you to make it yours. Once upon a time, I designed and sold jewelry, and Dana was very encouraging with the idea of me becoming a vendor. She explained that the artists make 60% of their sales while the store gets 40%. Seems reasonable to me, and I'd be proud to have my jewelry on display with all the other local treasures! Overall, I absolutely loved Revival Art House, and along with Berry Town Produce, will likely make a point to stop in every time I'm near Ponchatoula. Beautiful setup in here and reasonable prices (set by the artists). I highly recommend!

This theater is AMAZING! I can't say enough positive things about it. My husband and I discovered…read moreit 4 years ago when someone I knew had a part in A Few Good Men. We've been patrons for the last 3 years and everyone involved are volunteers. You can become a patron for as little as $25 and take advantage of discounted tickets and pre-sales which give you first dibs on seats before performances go on sale to the public. One of the things we like the best is the intimate theater. Rather than the cavernous theaters and faraway stages of Broadway performances, this is a tiny theater where there is no bad seat. Importantly, the acting is first rate for a small community theater. You can tell the actors (and stage hands, sound person, etc.) put their all into creating first rate performances. Also, it is a non-profit. Snacks and drinks, including wine (maybe beer? Not sure) are available for purchase. After each performance the actors come out into the front area to greet audience members as they leave. There are typically nighttime shows at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday nights and matinee performances on Sunday afternoon. Also, sometimes they hold one time events like a comedy night or patron parties. Can you tell I'm a fan? Treat yourself by attending one of their shows...it's highly likely you'll be glad that you did.

This museum used to be a boarding house for men who worked in the area logging, shipping, or whatever transient work was needed at the time. in the corner is some instruments and from what I understand local musicians will come in and jam. You can see on the floor where the walls were that divided the housing for the men. There is a spot for picnics in front, a playground and splash pad nearby. Very small town home. Welcoming area. The docent will recommend other things to do in the nearby area. Very friendly. I can not recommend this enough. Outside are the gendered restrooms. I highly recommend this to anyone going to the north shore, this will not take much time and you will be on your way to the Abita Springs Brewery, swamp tour, mystery museum, tubing or whatever else is on your schedule.

I only had about an hour before they closed, but you really need at least 2 hours, leaning to 3 or 4 hours to be able to watch all of the videos and give the exhibits all of the attention they need. This would also be a great day trip for someone visiting New Orleans and looking to get away from the city. I would recommend people who live in the area coming to see this. It is amazing. I could spend the better part of the day. The videos describe the history of the area, travel from the beginning back and forth to "the big city" and the daily life of the people of the area. There is a rich history dating back to the Civil War (how civil is war anyway?). 10/10 would highly recommend. Note that the museum is set high on stilts, but there is an elevator for the handicapped. The restrooms are neat and clean and fully stocked. There is a gift shop to purchase items.
