Sadly, communication was completely inconsistent. It took their office weeks to get back to emails so when I tried to cancel within the two week policy or at least figure out scheduling before the start of the new month they would let emails go unchecked because they were out of office. Incredibly sad experience.

In one instance, I arrived 10 minutes early for my lesson, as always. The instructor was running behind, which I understood, so I waited. However, by the time my lesson finally started, 20 minutes of my scheduled time had already passed. Instead of making up for the lost time, the instructor ended my session as originally scheduled--meaning I only got 10 minutes and didn't even get to ride. What did I do in those ten minutes? Get the horse saddled and ready for the next client. When I brought this up, I was assured it wouldn't happen again... yet I was still charged in full. Then, after experiencing a sudden medical emergency, I reached out to request a refund for the current month (which had just been charged since I was able to ride anymore). Their response? A dismissive email telling me to "plan better next time," as if I could schedule a medical emergency in advance. They ignored my follow-up and still haven't refunded me. The management is unprofessional, the customer service is nonexistent, and the way they treat clients is unacceptable. Don't even get me started how the older man spoke to me. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

I had numerous issues which I brought to their attention and every time Joanne would start yelling and screaming and throwing a conniption fit. When I first arrived my horse had very calm horses on either side of him. Shortly thereafter Joanne allowed a high strung horse to be stabled next to my horse which created issues. I asked Joanne if she would move the high strung horse and she did not. There very small riding arena has 4 to 5 inches of sand which is not suitable to ride in as it will cause suspensory issues to your horse. A sand based riding arena should be 1 to 2 inches. One of Joanne's horses chewed and destroyed my very expensive halter I kindly asked her to replace it she said she would but after 4 weeks it still hasn't been replaced. They lock up the feed room and do not allow you access to your own supplements and grain which is unheard of in a barn. Joanne did not disclose that her neighbor to the east hates her so much that he fires up the lawnmower or something very loud daily to disrupt the horses and your experience while at the barn. Joannes cursing is offensive and she's constantly ranting and raving. Joanne and Liz created a very stressful environment for my horse and myself and therefore I would never recommend this place to anybody under any condition or situation.

Update below: It is with sadness that I write this review…read more I rarely write bad reviews, but this experience and the disrespect from Daisy Mountain was horrifying and people need to know. I have waited a couple weeks after the incidents so that I made sure I had good perspective on the situation since it was so upsetting. I am guessing they will not accept any responsibility like they have done in the other bad reviews. First and foremost, when Dr. Young owned the practice, it was AWESOME. Everything ran smoothly and the whole team was excellent. Although I do believe Dr. Jillson is a good doctor, the office policies and procedures are not friendly to their customers and their fur family. I have been with my vet in my other state for 25 years and multiple specialists for over 10 years. I have had over 25 dogs in my life including rescue fostering and I have never been treated so poorly. I am a pretty easy going customer and very much understand the challenges a vet office faces. This all seems to stem from them over booking and continuing to take on new clients when they really cannot handle the load. There were 2 incidences. The first was not that big of a deal, however I believe it was an indicator of the larger issue to come. I had an appointment for my dog to see Dr. Jillson. A couple days ahead, I got a call that Dr. Jillson would not be there and they asked if it would be okay seeing another doctor. I said sure. Then they called the following day and said Dr. Jillson would be there. I said great. I got to the office and was told Dr. Jillson got "too busy" for our appointment. So I had to see another doctor. Irritating to be pushed off on someone else, but absolutely not a dealbreaker. The following week I made an appointment for a tech follow up for both my animals. We have been going to Daisy Mountain for the past 2 years and I have kept up on my appointments there as well as having my other vets send them copies of records. My dog was exhibiting signs of a UTI and I asked that they run a urine culture while they were doing the tech appointment I already had scheduled. I was told by the tech that it was illegal to run a urine test without the vet seeing my dog. I was pretty sure this was not true, as my dog was already a patient and they were aware she had an ongoing history of UTI's. I confirmed this by speaking with the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board. They confirmed that it would NOT have been illegal and that a urine test should have been done. To add insult to injury, the tech was very rude to me and just kept saying they were double booked and had no time for me. There was no offer to get an appointment quickly on the next business day or any apology. She did not seem to care. They were busy and I was just a problem for them. Most everyone in the office looked frazzled and overworked. When I wrote them, they took ZERO responsibility. No apology...no one saying they wished it had not happened the way it did. They would not give me my money back. They took my money and gave me my dogs' records and said find another vet. This is after my dog tested positive for Lyme and Valley fever. They did nothing. They should have at least given me my money back. The blame was set on me because, as they wrote to me, they could not give me the level of customer service I needed. But ALL pet owners need good customer service. It is why we pay a LOT of money to go to the vet. This lack of taking responsibility is yet another indicator of a badly managed office. I think they just wanted me to leave as I was clearly upset and there were other customers in the office. There was one very nice person at the front desk who seemed upset by my situation and really tried to help by giving me an urgent care number. Not needed though...I ended up at Desert Hills and they got me in immediately. I hope Daisy Mountain changes their processes and some of their employees so this does not happen to others. Now Daisy Mountain sent me an unsolicited email stated I was argumentative, said their staff lied and also put me under the category of Bad credit and collections. Again, I was simply trying to get my sick dog into the office who already had an appointment, their staff did in fact lie as was confirmed by the vet board and I paid for all services when I was there that day. I have now submitted a complaint to the veterinary board for dishonest and harmful practices with my animals.

Overnight my dog became unable to walk and was mostly unresponsive. No way could I carry this 60 lb dog to my car, plus we are in the middle of a week of dangerously high temperatures. I had no idea what to do with his body once he passes, and I knew he was imminent. Happy Endings told me they would examine him at home and give me their opinion. They gave me a 2 hour window of when they would be at my apartment. I didn't have to wait long. Dr. Fixler told me what he could observe about my dog, which fit with what I had seen in the last couple of weeks. He assured me there was nothing I could have done to change things. It was a sad occasion even knowing I was doing the right thing. Dr. Fixler and his team were very respectful and compassionate about that. I got to thank Buddy for all the happiness he brought me. He went quickly and comfortably. They took him to be cremated, I didn't opt to be given ashes. They will send a paw print to me in the mail. I found the fees to be reasonable, especially since I had no idea what to do, and I was too upset to do much. I'm 66 years old and limited physically. The vet convinced me that I was helping my red headed Buddy by helping him avoid days of useless pain and misery. I truly believe him. It's important for me to know that-- in order to properly let go. I miss you already, Mr. Bud-Bud. RIP. LET THIS BE A WARNING -- THINK TWICE BEFORE TRUSTING THIS VETERINARY PRACTICE…read more After more than 20 years as a loyal client, my elderly mother deserved compassion and honesty during one of the most devastating moments of her life: saying goodbye to her beloved dog. Tammy completed the paperwork and asked my mother sign it. My mother did not personally complete the paperwork, yet it ended up indicating mass cremation--something my mother never chose and had never selected in more than 20 years with this practice. ALL HER DOGS HAVE BEEN CREMATED AND RETURNED TO HER!!! She only discovered what had happened when she called asking when she would receive her dog's remains. What happened next was even worse. Instead of taking responsibility, investigating what actually occurred, or simply admitting a mistake, Sarah, the owner/vet, defended the staff and blamed my elderly mother. There is paperwork showing Tammy's handwriting and my mother's signature. If there is camera footage of the encounter, review it and determine the truth. In our opinion, Tammy and Sarah are lying to cover their mistake and shifting the blame onto an elderly, grieving woman who trusted this practice for decades. That is not accountability. It is not compassion. And it is completely unacceptable. My mother deserved better. Our dog deserved better. After 20+ years of loyalty, we deserved better.
