Update below: It is with sadness that I write this review. I rarely write bad reviews, but this experience and the disrespect from Daisy Mountain was horrifying and people need to know. I have waited a couple weeks after the incidents so that I made sure I had good perspective on the situation since it was so upsetting. I am guessing they will not accept any responsibility like they have done in the other bad reviews. First and foremost, when Dr. Young owned the practice, it was AWESOME. Everything ran smoothly and the whole team was excellent. Although I do believe Dr. Jillson is a good doctor, the office policies and procedures are not friendly to their customers and their fur family. I have been with my vet in my other state for 25 years and multiple specialists for over 10 years. I have had over 25 dogs in my life including rescue fostering and I have never been treated so poorly. I am a pretty easy going customer and very much understand the challenges a vet office faces. This all seems to stem from them over booking and continuing to take on new clients when they really cannot handle the load. There were 2 incidences. The first was not that big of a deal, however I believe it was an indicator of the larger issue to come. I had an appointment for my dog to see Dr. Jillson. A couple days ahead, I got a call that Dr. Jillson would not be there and they asked if it would be okay seeing another doctor. I said sure. Then they called the following day and said Dr. Jillson would be there. I said great. I got to the office and was told Dr. Jillson got "too busy" for our appointment. So I had to see another doctor. Irritating to be pushed off on someone else, but absolutely not a dealbreaker. The following week I made an appointment for a tech follow up for both my animals. We have been going to Daisy Mountain for the past 2 years and I have kept up on my appointments there as well as having my other vets send them copies of records. My dog was exhibiting signs of a UTI and I asked that they run a urine culture while they were doing the tech appointment I already had scheduled. I was told by the tech that it was illegal to run a urine test without the vet seeing my dog. I was pretty sure this was not true, as my dog was already a patient and they were aware she had an ongoing history of UTI's. I confirmed this by speaking with the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board. They confirmed that it would NOT have been illegal and that a urine test should have been done. To add insult to injury, the tech was very rude to me and just kept saying they were double booked and had no time for me. There was no offer to get an appointment quickly on the next business day or any apology. She did not seem to care. They were busy and I was just a problem for them. Most everyone in the office looked frazzled and overworked. When I wrote them, they took ZERO responsibility. No apology...no one saying they wished it had not happened the way it did. They would not give me my money back. They took my money and gave me my dogs' records and said find another vet. This is after my dog tested positive for Lyme and Valley fever. They did nothing. They should have at least given me my money back. The blame was set on me because, as they wrote to me, they could not give me the level of customer service I needed. But ALL pet owners need good customer service. It is why we pay a LOT of money to go to the vet. This lack of taking responsibility is yet another indicator of a badly managed office. I think they just wanted me to leave as I was clearly upset and there were other customers in the office. There was one very nice person at the front desk who seemed upset by my situation and really tried to help by giving me an urgent care number. Not needed though...I ended up at Desert Hills and they got me in immediately. I hope Daisy Mountain changes their processes and some of their employees so this does not happen to others. Now Daisy Mountain sent me an unsolicited email stated I was argumentative, said their staff lied and also put me under the category of Bad credit and collections. Again, I was simply trying to get my sick dog into the office who already had an appointment, their staff did in fact lie as was confirmed by the vet board and I paid for all services when I was there that day. I have now submitted a complaint to the veterinary board for dishonest and harmful practices with my animals. read more

I used to really appreciate this clinic before the ownership changed. Unfortunately, the new management has implemented policies that make the experience far less customer‑friendly. They now refuse to send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice, requiring you to either pick them up in person or use their in‑house pharmacy--which does not match competitive pricing elsewhere. It comes across as a revenue‑driven decision rather than one focused on client care. The veterinarians themselves are adequate, but the overall shift in management practices has made the clinic much less accommodating than it once was. read more

Staff is amazing here! I had to take my boy to be put down, because he lived 18 wonderful years and he was ready. I went in with my 3 young daughters and the vet made sure to ask all of us if we had any questions after explaining the process. They gave me as much time as I needed with my boy, before and after. I was quoted the wrong prices on the phone and in text and even though the prices I showed them were lower than what should have been, they honored the price since it was their office who made the mistake. They took an unnecessary x ray of my dog who had a temperature of 104. Doctor schroeder has no idea of how to diagnose anything. I suggested that we test the dog for valley fever. She was sending me home with pain medication, I told her I was not leaving without antibiotics. The bill $650.00 I left there not knowing what the dog had. The following day I went to another vet the dog had valley fever. These folks are experts at running up a thousand dollar bill for you. Then they tell you that you can take out alone. They have different payments schedules. Find yourself a vet that has an interest in your dog. These people certainly did not. read more

This vet has been absolutely amazing from our first visit on. I cannot say enough about not only the vets but their techs. We have a 16 year old dog and a lot of vets wouldn't take on an animal that old without attempting to charge for a lot of tests, etc. They have always treated us extremely well and we continue to utilize them. read more

I used to take my pets here. the vets are good, but they have lots of tech turnover. Today was my last straw. My cat needed a simple dental, and they let him sit hungry for 7 HOURS before starting. they only started after I called asking what his status was. We needed to find a new veterinarian because our last doctor retired. We weren't keen on the new doctor that took over so our search began. Fortunately we knew a technician and she recommended this office. We have been coming now for 6 months. We had three CKCS at the time. We started with new pt physicals on our pups and our Dr is Dr Sarah Schroeder in May/June 2022. The physicals were very thorough and everything done and recommended were explained. Unfortunately 2 months ago our newest pup became extremely ill with seizures. I called the office upon opening and the receptionist was able to get her in if I was willing to be worked in. I arrived within 10 minutes and they were able to get my pup in room ASAP. Dr Schroeder examined and her and took her back for labs when my pup heart rate suddenly dropped. Dr S me notified immediately what was happening and decided to keep her the rest of the day with constant monitoring. Fortunately our pup improved through out the day. Upon discharged, we started seizure med, and taught how to do CPR and we scheduled a appointment with a Neurologist in a few days and Dr S gave us her cell phone number so we could contact her anytime. Next day was all good. Dr S wanted a update and she was pleased with her condition. Unfortunately during the night our pup had another seizure where her heart did stop. We performed CPR and rushed her to the ER where her neurologist was also located. ER did everything they could but she couldn't be saved. We were devastated. We notified Dr S of what happened during the night and she was so nice and very consoling and compassionate.I cant say enough about Dr S and her staff. During our worst time they treated us like people and pet parents not clients. I cant say enough! Currently we are dealing with Dr Feeney who is working with our cardiologist on our other pup who is in heart failure. Dr Feeney has also been extraordinary during this time. She has been informative and is helping guide us down this sad road we are on. You really know the exceptional doctors when you need them the most. Don't hesitate coming here with your pups. Took our dog Zoey in to have her ears checked...11/13/22...tech did her thing with questions and ear temp...had to take her to the back for exam by vet, Dr. Schroeder...even though harnessed and leashed, tech needed help(my wife) coaxing her back and then took her through door to exam area...less than 5 minutes later we hear Zoey choking/coughing, my wife went quickly into the hallway in time to see both the tech and vet restraining her from what appeared to be two areas, which would be her leash and possibly her collar (a definite no no with any dog), my wife called Zoey and into the room she ran into the corner and coughed/gagged one more time and quit...Vet stood at the door, said she looked good , prescribed ear drops...did not seem concerned/interested in Zoey's incident as one would have expected...something caused my dog to be upset/traumatized and possibly injured during this visit...definitely no compassion here...she is a non-aggressive strong chocolate lab who loves everyone...would really like to know what went on in the exam room... I drive 40 minutes from Central Phoenix to take my dog here. The vets here are great, and the prices are fair. When my senior dog was having chronic stomach issues, I figured it was time to do a senior dog blood panel and check up to make sure there was nothing serious going on. I called the vet near my home, hoping to save me a trip up to Anthem. A senior blood panel with urinalysis was $295. The same thing was $150 at Daisy Mountain. If cost is a concern, this is a vet you can count on to take care of your pet AND your wallet. WE WANT TO SHOUT OUT TO DR. YOUNG!! A fast moving malignant tumor in our beloved standard poodle's leg threw our family into crisis mode! Not only did Dr. Young beautifully and skillfully remove the affected limb but she had the knowledge and experience to coach us through the trauma of our crisis. She provided the emotional support and accurate predictions that kept us sane while dealing with the trauma. Of all the vets we have dealt with in all the years we have had pets, Dr. Young stands out as the most competent and caring. This was my dog Bella's main vet office. Bella had seen all of the vets on different occasions for annual check ups and whenever a vet visit was needed. All of the veterinarians here are great. However, back in February Bella became very ill. This is where Dr. Millman went above and beyond to try and figure out was wrong with Bella for about 2 wks. Dr. Millman would always follow up with me at a timely manner and sometimes even unexpectedly. Bella would not eat and had become very lethargic. Unfortunately daisy mtn did not have the tools to further research on what was wrong with Bella. At this point we had exhausted all options and Dr. Millman had set me up with Vet Med to try and get some answers. Unfortunately, Bella was diagnosed with lymphoma. Bella passed away on 10/6. If it wasn't for Dr. Millman and her efforts my dog would have died a lot sooner. We will never forget what she did for us (Bella and I). I would have never taken Bella to Vet Med if it wasn't for her which means I wouldn't have had another 8 months with my fur baby. Thank you Dr. Millman and Daisy mtn staff. read more

DO NOT use this facility. They gave my dog his rabies shot during his visit. They failed to give me the rabies certificate. I watched the Dr. give him the shot. The front office staff was sarcastic and told me that they did not give him the shot at the office visit. After putting the Dr. on the phone, she was also very unprofessional - she actually hung up on me after expressing my concerns of the rabies shot. HORRIBLE treatment of a customer. I was referred here by another pet owner. I have two rescue poms about 10 in age. Since May of 2017 when I got the poms this is my go to vet. I have had other vets or plans for other pups I have had, however none are as caring as Daisy Mountain Veterinary and their staff. These people are genuine animal lovers and show true passion for their jobs. They also work with local animal rescues to help adopt and foster out animals in need. My poms love coming in to see the vets and staff. Their tails wag when we pull up until we leave. Even if they are not feeling well they muster up a wag. My female Pom has some syncope issues that were very frightening, Daisy Mountain Veterinary handled it like a champ and also calmed me down in my frightened state. The pups have had their teeth cleaned as well as extractions. The price is way more cost effective than other places that offer similar services. My boos are now able to eat pain free. Since we lost our favorite cat, Mr. Bauer, last fall, we went in to see what DMVH had to offer last month. They had two kitties about 10 mo. old. We saw a gray and a black kitty. The black long hair domestic (Candy) was full of zest and we immediately took to her. Shots, spaying, chip and declawing is schedule this next week. She is a doll and has warmed our hearts as a new addition to our family. She's now gained a new name of "CoCo." She has a Facebook page too as "CoCo's Kitty Page". We welcome your visits. Thank you to Dr Young and staff for treating my sweet dog Rusty. The extra special treatment Rusty received will never be forgotten! I would like to share with you why Daisy Mountain Vet Hospital and Dr. Young earned 5 stars. When I moved to Anthem from MI with my dog several of my neighbors had recommended Dr. Young. So, when Rusty got sick I was happy to have someone close by to call. Unfortunately, I called shortly before closing and Dr Young's earliest appointment was over 2 weeks out. I explained that my healthy 6 year old dog got sick very suddenly (vomiting and bloody diarrhea!). Dr. Young was finishing up surgery and the receptionist said that she would see Rusty! He had something call HGE and fortunately it was caught early. He was already dehydrating so Dr Young gave him fluids and medication and told me I gave me a couple of options 1. take him to the hospital to continue hydrating him via IV, which would have cost at least $1200.00 or 2. I could take him home and bring him back at 7 am to have an IV for the entire day. After Dr Young explained everything and careful consideration I chose option 2. Dr Young then administered fluids subcutaneously and gave me signs to look for during the night and stressed that I take him to the hospital if he got worse. Rusty did fine during the night and I was at the door when they opened the next day. It is worth mentioning that my purse was grateful as well, because the fee was very reasonable for keeping Rusty for the day (7:30 am - 6 pm) with the IV, medication and monitoring. The bill did not reflect any nickel-and dime items. Also, no pressure to buy this or have that done. me to death. I am sure you know what I mean! Just a good 'home town' reliable and honest practice treating animals. What impressed me the most was the love and care Dr Young and her staff exhibited toward every pet while I was there. Rusty' recovery was a quick as the onset, thanks to Dr. Young's unselfish commitment to her animals! She had finished surgery early that day and could have gone home, instead she stayed past closing to help my Rusty! I will never forget that fact! My entire experience was exceptional, and I will now be joining my neighbors in praising Dr Young's practice. Do not hesitate to make an appointment. read more

The second round they made us wait 50 minutes passed the appointment time. The third time today, they told us they had actually cancelled the appointment via text last minute (we never received a text - either way a cancellation should be a call). The most unprofessional staff I have ever met. I've been numerous times as it's within town, everyone has off days so I understand but the service front the front desk staff is horrific. If you want someone who can show an ounce of empathy or even give your pet a chance at receiving more of a "Well we didn't see ____ blank over one night stay so it must not be happening" go else where. Never have I met more useless veterinary assistance. I have a few dogs that are rescues. Took in my most recent adoption a few years back and they scolded me for her dental hygiene when it was her initial visit upon adoption? Do they not listen when you speak? Another dog of mine is quite old and I've taken her here a few times in situations that seemed to risky to go elsewhere farther away, and they give the same plain empty stare no answer but steep charge. Not an ounce of even speculation. The dog is so ancient she lacks some basic capabilities so I know it may seem hopeless but she still has a life to live! Every interaction has been nothing but mind numbing. Horrible. Would give zero stars if I could. I'm not normally one to leave reviews but it's been bothering me for so long, why not now. read more

She acts as if you are bothering her when you stand at the desk waiting to pay, as she answers 3 phone calls and doesn't acknowledge me for over 5 minutes, while 3 other staff memebers looked at me and said HI, not one offered to help.... I tend to think the person waiting to pay is more important than a phone call! read more

I was in a major bind, of course late on a Friday with plans to go out of town. My dog's normal vet could not fit them in their schedule. Feeling defeated and desperately in need of assistance, I called Daisy Mountain Vet Hospital after getting their info from another business. I was sure they couldn't fit him in their schedule (my dog's normal vet couldn't, so why would they?). Well, guess what? They figured out a way to squeeze my guy into their schedule. I know they went through a lot to do so, and I am SO impressed by this business. immediately felt at ease when I arrived. The vet and staff were very friendly and welcoming, so caring to my senior dog. Their patient rooms are set up perfectly for pets unable to easily hop on an examination table. Yeah, our family got to take the vacation we so needed but more importantly, I found a wonderful local business that treated my family member as their own, and whom I'd recommend to anyone who wants their pets to have the best care possible. UPDATE: Some months after my original post, our 14 y/o boy broke his leg on an evening walk. The staff stayed late for our emergency visit. Unfortunately, we had to say a heavenly goodbye to him. It was one of the hardest things I've been through - and I've been through some stuff. I couldn't have asked for more caring people to have been with me while I held him and let him go. I used to like this place even though it's not conveniently located for us. But we adopted an abused dog they donated care for awhile back so we wanted to support them as much as we could (their pricing is on the higher side based on my experience). BUT, we called them to euthanize one of our cats who suddenly took a really bad turn for the worse. I called on a Saturday around 11 am. They were open until 6 pm that day. The receptionist told me the vet said she couldn't fit him in until Monday. I said he won't make it until Monday. She just said "sorry." This cat had been seen by them in the past so I was a client and the cat was a patient at this vet. The fact that they couldn't make time to end the suffering of my cat is inexcusable and unforgivable. They should not be in the pet care business and I would never trust them with any of my pets again. Who would want to patronize a vet who would refuse to spend a few extra minutes to help an animal in this situation? read more

I'm not sure where all of these glowing reviews are coming from, because there was nothing about my experience with bringing my kitten there that was good.. let alone exceptional! It looks like they might be more of a dog friendly place. I'm an adult and Ive had a quite a few pets over the last 40ish years, and this was the most disappointing experience I've ever had! The veterinarian spoke in a very low uninterested monotone voice... I may as well of brought in a water bottle for her to do look at, probably would of gotten more feedback.. she clearly doesn't like cats, or just didn't like my kitten or didn't like me... hard to determine what was the reason for her horrible behavior since we were only in the room with her for about 2 minutes before she grabbed up my kitten removed her from the room and took her elsewhere to get shots.. thats a first! I've never had my pet removed from the room for routine vaccines...seconds later I could hear her yelling down the hall to someone, what vaccines to give my kitten. Then she... the veterinarian, 30-40 ish, longer dark hair, on the thin side (name ?) brought my kitten back to the exam room where I was waiting and she slammed my kitten down and she pushed her head down hard onto the table... what the Hell! If you don't like cats.. then don't see cats there! I would of appreciated a heads up, so would my kitten! What a horrible experience for my kitty who has hardly ever seen people out side of our home due to covid! I'll Never go there again and our 2 rescue dogs won't be going there anymore either! read more

Daisy Mountain is by far the best vet we have taken any of our pets to. Dr. Kirstin is kind, compassionate, and exceptionally good at what she does. Our dogs needed dental work done (extensive dental work), and since we didn't know this was necessary - we are the kinds of folks who take our dogs to the vet when they are sick - not for regular check ups, which of course, is less than ideal... but Dr. Kirstin was not judgmental because we had let their teeth go (sort of - they are rescues, so they were already sort of gone on one of them). She is about 1/3 less than the surrounding vets, and takes extra time to explain what needs to be done, after big procedures. Our dogs are far, FAR happier now that they have their teeth done (and lets be honest, one has nearly NO teeth in her poor little mouth)... I am forever grateful for Dr. Kirstin for taking such good care of our fur family. read more

DMV isn't even my vet but I'm considering switching because of the amazing staff, great and caring doctors and their work with Anthem Pets. I have only been a couple of times to drop strays off or have a foster dog treated but I am very impressed with the office. They make you feel like family right away.
