A great idea for the art supply and art class enthusiast!
I bumped into Paint Plates at an arts and craft festival, and the owner kindly gave me a sample of her earth-friendly, compostable paint palette she had created.
I love to paint, but don't always set up for a project due to the mess and waste. This is an awesome idea. It's right sized for usable amounts of paint and rather than spending a ton of time (and using up gallons of water) in cleanup, you can simply put the used palette (Paint Plate) into your compost at the end of your session.
Consensus: I loved it. Super easy to set up, and I didn't have any of my usual guilt about putting too much paint out and wasting it, and having a huge clean up afterwards.
Although I'm not a teacher, I have sat in on classes, and I can completely see how this would be an amazing and earth-friendly product to use. Each student would have an appropriate amount of paint, the palettes are really easy to use and hold, and the whole post-class cleanup would take minutes instead of hours.
I think this may end up being the "Post-It" notes of the paint world, one of those "why didn't I think of that" ideas that makes total sense at the end of the day. read more
