The workers there are very nice and enthusiastic about people's artwork. The music they played definitely gave off coffee shop vibes. The artist on their playlist was Lord Huron, Hozier, and more. It was a relaxing atmosphere and they have plenty of options for you to paint.

This place was awesome! I was visiting from Florida for a girl's weekend. Great place for adults and kids. We enjoyed the variety of ceramics, staff was helpful, and the place stayed open a bit late for us because we didn't finish our projects. I recommend this if you are looking for something to do that is relaxing, quiet, and family friendly. Let your inner child out!

On vacation in Williamsburg, VA with my 13 yr old son and 10 yr old niece and we needed something to do on a rainy day mid vacation. While this is a cute place, we were disappointed at the lack of pottery inventory to select from. No bowls, only one tile, etc. They had examples of already painted items but didn't have them available to select from. We were most disappointed and frustrated that we were told the paint selections were "first come first serve" so rather than rationing out portions of the most popular colors to customers, customers had the entire paint bottles at their tables. There was another large group who walked out citing the same annoyance how how things were run and lack of inventory/paint availability. There was also glass art you could do but that wasn't explained or offered to us. Lastly, no one came around to see if we needed any assistance or had any questions until we were already done. The kids enjoyed doing painting on their pottery but, I would suggest exploring other options for things to do on a rainy day....from my experience.

    Platter

We came here to do something during our Honeymoon. The staff here is incredibly nice and informative. The pieces are well made and decently priced. We spent 3 hours here painting and did a platter. It turned out beautiful and made for a great experience and honeymoon memory we can keep for a long time. I strongly recommend coming here for good memories.

It was overpriced, already made pottery for you to paint. Although it was overpriced, I will say it was very therapeutic and we enjoyed ourselves. We returned again in 2024, but this time for a homeschool pottery class. I absolutely love that they have planned days for homeschoolers to come in and create different projects. The pricing for that was better and again the kids enjoyed themselves.. The owner and other ladies were kind during both of our interactions. I recommend visiting this place solo or with a group for some therapeutic fun. Recommended

There were great options to choose from to paint and they have some other activities as well. Jessica was the lovely lady who helped us and gave great information and instructions. They had a lot of different tools and techniques that I hadn't seen before. I also really appreciated that they encouraged us to take the bottles of paint needed to our table. A previous place I had gone to, filled our palettes for us and told us to ask for more if needed which was very frequent and difficult when it was busy. Anyways, we got our mugs and our paint and began to art! We had a great time and felt no pressure to get finished quickly. I am looking forward to seeing our finished prod

It was not a problem getting us in to paint some items. We had an impromptu date here, and I would also say that this was one of the nicer ways to spend a Saturday afternoon that we had found. The process is pretty simple. Check in with the front desk they have you pick out a piece too please assign a table and then explain the process of how to wait on Keys to get the best result. They take care of everything after you are done applying the number of coats that you want on your item and you return after a few days to pick up. It's very simple and you can take your time. There were a mix of adults and groups that involve children, but this is not a place that I would bring very young children unsupervised or without high-level supervision. Price pay on most of the pieces to paint is around $30 and up. You can do a smaller item like an ornament for much less but people play a coffee mug about $20-$30 for what took us several hours to complete and it was very enjoyable time. Parking is available if you go around the block there is parking behind the "house". There's also street parking available on the side streets if that is filled. .

I'm so glad that we have a studio like this close to our place. We went here for my daughter's birthday party and they had a complete blast. Not necessarily my thing, but hey, I'm just the guy fronting the bill for a happy child. The pricing was very fair in my opinion and they did a great job of ensuring all the kids had fun and were coordinated (tough) in their work. The facility was quaint and just enough to be perfect for hosting the event and allowing customers to come in. I'm sure we'll be back but the first line of my review was told to me by the person working. As a married couple always on the hunt for date night activities, this is definitely on the radar. :) Food Taste: n/a Overall Service: 5 Value of food to cost: 5 Facility: 5 Repeat customer: yes Dog Friendly: no

Potts N Paints offers 2 locations - VB and Chesapeake. This location is convenienty located in a strip shopping center near Lynnhaven Mall with ample parking. The space is huge with lots of private tables. They have a huge selection of pottery with prices ranging based on size and a ton of tools to use - not just the standard brushes. On this visit though, my daughter wanted to splatter paint. There is a separate room for getting - literally - as messy as you want. A blank canvas welcomes creativity! Once suited up with a poncho, goggles and shoe covers, it's a free for all. You can even slingshot paint-soaked sponges! The even have a bicycle-powered splatter table to make cool centrifuge designs. It's a great spot to let the imagination run wild. It's a little pricey at $50/canvas but it made for great memories for my little girl. And she has a long-lasting memento to hang on her wall. Staff was so kind and helpful during our visit, offering instruction and guidance when needed. It's also a great place to consider hosting a birthday party, girls outing, team building event, etc. This is a fun place to spend an hour or two!

Marissa is so wonderful about explaining everything. There are endless options of projects to make. You do not need to be creative or an artist or have any kinds of skill. You just need to be willing to make something. OUR group was all skill levels from no skill to totally skilled. We all had a blast. This is not your typical ceramic pots and paint anymore. It is AWESOME!!! Things they offer. *Pottery-- they offer a huge wall of various bisque and everything that you can think of including glazes, open paint bar, stamps, stencils and paint pens. They also fire the pieces after you glaze them. So you paint them and leave them to get fired and then you pick them up after the items are ready. *Canvas--You can pick any size and pick whatever design you want to paint. They have predrawn canvases available, Or you can schedule a class. They have an open paint bar. *Clay--They have all kinds of tools to work with clay for hand-building. They also offer Pottery Wheel sessions. *Glass fusing art--They have a wonderful assortment of colors and types of glass to make a completed glass fused project. *Mosaics--they have a pretty good selection of tile and colors and wood shapes to complete a project. The best part about POTTS N PAINTS is that you have endless options of things to choose from. One person can choose glass fusing art and another person can choose to paint a ceramic plate . You are not stuck making all the same thing. Like I said you have endless options. This is my new favorite place to hang out. Don't worry about getting messy. They have a wall of aprons to cover up your clothes. You can bring any drinks that you want even alcoholic drinks. For my husband I took him a beer because it was his birthday. And everyone needs a birthday beer(LOL) We opted to just walk in and make different projects but you can book parties and join classes. If you have questions like I did you can call or just walk in and find out how it all works. I'm totally in love with this place not only for all the super cool projects but because of the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. And they were playing really good music too.
