    Bathroom? No... spa :-)

I had hung wallpaper before, but I didn't enjoy it. So when I bought a wallpaper mural for my upstairs bath, I kinda dreaded the thought of it again. And then I considered the cost of the mural itself and the fact that the wallpaper would have to be cut around concrete beams protruding from the ceiling into the wall. That's when I decided to take a friend's recommendation and reach out to Brian. I'm glad I did. It wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it to be sure I wouldn't screw it up. It turned out beautifully! Brian is very customer-focused and reliable. I'd use him again.

    You be the judge...

See photo section of bedroom with black wallpaper. Brian came to my rescue in short notice when I wanted to get this completed while the bf was out-of-town. Brian was very professional and got it done without issue.

Brian did an amazing job hanging wallpaper in our daughter's bedroom. You can't even see the seems on the wallpaper. He was super easy to work with, meticulous about his work and nice to chat with as well. Would definitely have him back to hang more wallpaper in our apartment.

My wife and did a thorough and exhaustive renovation of our third floor including building a nursery. We decided to wallpaper two small spaces and one wall of the nursery. In our search for a qualified wallpaper professional we stumbled across Brian. Not only did Brian agree to install our wall paper over a weekend to accommodate our time lines (my wife is ready to give birth at any moment), he was congenial, professional and his attention to detail was superb. Our wall paper projects were finished over the course of a Saturday & Sunday. Brian arrived on time, worked diligently, was easy to chat with and had a super pleasant demeanor. Brian's been hanging wall paper for decades--he's seen it all--our walls are not straight, we went from lathe and plaster to drywall with original framing which is never as perfect as modern framing so there were tons of nuances to work around as he hung our paper. I couldn't recommend Brian more!

This here Paperman is the bomb. Also happens to be a great friend of mine who has finally moved from NYC to the west coast- where we truly need him the most! Whew! There really is no one else out here that I would trust to do my wallpapering. Bdub has revamped multiple rooms in our home here in Marin (first in San Rafael, now in San Anselmo). He has a gift of turning spaces that you might even be embarrassed about into worlds of wonder. Not only did he make my vision of the boys' playroom and bedroom come to life- he also kept it real and well within my budget. I am forever grateful. NYC chic and sleek/Fun & funky/Classy & traditional. He can pretty much do it all. Fresh from the Big Apple- we're so lucky to have him in the Bay!

Brian did a fantastic job installing a modern, geometric wall mural for us. It wasn't a straightforward installation as were putting the mural on a wall with two blind doors. He was very responsive and professional and we are extremely happy with the end result. We would definitely hire Brian again for any future papering needs.

I can not being to write how wonderful Brian was. His attention to detail and easy going nature was a breath of fresh air. Brian painted and wallpapered the nursery in my apartment. His pricing was extremely reasonable. I only wish that I had more walls to wallpaper. I highly recommend Paint and Paperman.

Farrow & Ball Wallpaper BP 3103. Brian did an absolutely fantastic job. He is also a very nice man, which makes it even more wonderful.

Brian provides one of the best wallpaper installation services I have used. I have lived around the world and always have wallpaper hung - Brian is by far the best. He is very easy to work with, a pleasure to speak with on the phone, is very responsive to text/email, and is fair when it comes to pricing. His work speaks for itself. He hung a Farrow & Ball wallpaper in my bedroom and Hygge & West wallpaper in my bathroom. Both turned out spectacular. See photos.

Brian is a master and a genuine nice guy to boot. Amazing work, don't know why you'd go with anyone else.

I had never used wallpaper before so I had no idea what to expect but he explained everything about removing the old wallpaper and installing something we liked. From picking the new wallpaper online - what would fit in our area, the type of wallpaper, companies that sell wallpaper, etc he was more than happy to help with the process and the tiny details. On the day of the install there was a team of two people who were very knowledgeable about what they were doing, confident and very professional. I had a jungle theme and they made sure the tiger was square in the middle of the wall just like I wanted. They were happy to unroll all the wallpaper in my family room to figure out what would go where. They had so much equipment and tools to precisely place the wallpaper where it needed to go. They were perfectionists about getting everything right and really there's no way better to describe them than as true artists! The wallpaper application was exceptional. I absolutely love looking at it and visit the room where they put it up several times a day just to admire the work. You can see they took so much pride in what they did and it was not just regular work to them. I don't have any other place to put wallpaper right now but I would not skip a beat to hire this team a second time if I did! They are truly amazing!

It took three days to replace the wallpaper in part of our kitchen. Alex initially quoted me $1500 to remove two layers of old wallpaper and $1200 to install the new paper. This didn't include the cost of the new wallpaper. He warned me that additional prep work might be needed based on the condition of the walls under the old paper. The first day three workers came out. Diego appeared to be in charge. I talked to him about how I'd like the paper positioned on the wall. It's a large-repeat pattern and I wanted a certain part of the pattern to be at the top of the wall. I was impressed with his knowledge and clear explanations. I also talked to him about a door I wanted partially wallpapered. I asked him if I should have them remove the old wallpaper first, or just put new paper over the existing paper on the door. He said it would work either way. I opted to leave the old wallpaper in place. That first day they removed the old paper from the walls, which was difficult. They did a good job. After this was done, they said the walls were in pretty good condition, but they recommended I have them do priming and caulking for best results. This cost an additional $750. I don't know if it was strictly necessary, but they also did a good job of this. Problems arose on the third day, when the new wallpaper was installed. Diego wasn't there that day. The two workers were Eliu, a heavyset guy who did the actual installation, and Andy, a pleasant younger guy who assisted him and translated. I got a scrap of wallpaper and folded it to show Andy which part of the design I wanted at the top of the wall. When they put it up, the design was wrongly placed in one area. Eliu argued with me and overtalked me with Andy translating. Finally he irritably ripped off that part and did it right. Then Eliu told me he couldn't put wallpaper over the existing wallpaper on the door. I told them Diego already told me it would be no problem. Again, he argued and overtalked me. Finally he did what I asked him, but was irritable about it. Both of these corrections took very little time; I think he spent more time arguing with me than they took to fix. Finally, there was an area where they couldn't match the wallpaper pattern. They explained to me that they had already tried twice. The window frame wasn't straight, and it just wouldn't line up right no matter what they did. I said okay, no problem; probably no one will notice it. I appreciated them talking to me about it and not just doing it wrong and leaving, which many workers would do. However, after they left I noticed that there's big wrinkle in the paper there. I'm not too happy about that, but again, it's in an inconspicuous area and probably no one will notice. If you're thinking of hiring this crew I would say go ahead, but don't just blindly trust them. Discuss details beforehand, explain how you want things done, inspect carefully, and stick to your guns if they try to wriggle out of doing it right
