    The treasure I painted!
    Jess R.

I don't know that I would have ever chosen this activity in its own, but when combined with the tarot card reader it made me think the whole thing would be a fun night out with friends. I was able to get 5 other moms to join me and we had an absolute blast! Picking out a project and painting it was actually really fun on its own. The tarot card readings just gave us all something fun to talk about. Overall, the people who worked there were really friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and easy. It's a very meditative and relaxing experience and something new to do with friends. I don't know if they do birthday parties, but my 12 year old and her friends would love this, too!

My daughter and I visited this place as a Saturday activity. The place is small but organized. There was a nice variety of options to choose from. The concept of being able to take our item home on the same day was very appealing. There was also a Groupon available that reduced the cost of the sitting fees. My daughter requested to have her next party there so I guess she really liked it.

    Love how this came out!

I scheduled an appointment for me and my fellow moms to do something fun during the day without the kids. It was such a chill atmosphere with seemingly endless ceramic pieces, canvas designs and wooden templates and a team of friendly employees to give us guidance and creative tips. I had to demonstrate a lot of self control to not come back the next day to paint even more because it was so relaxing. We will definitely return soon!

The ladies who run this event are so patient and helpful. The only problem with this event was the venue. Oaklyn Manor is great but the lighting was terrible. It was difficult to see your progress. Other than that, it was very enjoyable. Will definitely do a Pant-A-Treasure!

Great spot! Had a wonderful date painting pottery. There was so many options of pieces to paint and lots of colors to choose from. Love the reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere, and wonderful staff! I'll be coming back anytime I want to share a fun art project with a friend.

Although I stayed in the back I eavesdropped often to see how my niece was doing. Jocelynn is amazing with her young students. She engages with them in a way that they all seem to really enjoy; she jokes, she tells stories, she listens to them. In the middle of class she gives them a small break and does an art history lesson. I think it's wonderful that students get to see works of great artists. They talk about and discuss the work of the artist being discussed while eating a snack. She sells art supplies in her studio at a fraction of the price you'd get at the store, and she didn't push me to buy. As a matter of fact I really wanted to buy supplies and she told me to hold off until my niece was sure she wanted to stick with it and was comfortable. My niece had a good experience. Although she's an amazing self-taught artist Jocelynn taught her the correct way to use pencils and how that she should draw what she sees not what's in her head. There was a little bit of a back and forth with my niece insisting that she was doing it the right way but I'm telling you Jocelynn has the patience of Job. And I'm sure she's used to dealing with artists who are stuck in their ways (even if they are only 9 years old). But all in all she enjoyed the class. Jocelynn gave her individual attention (I don't know how but all of the students received one on one time with her). Watching and listening to Jocelynn and my niece in class confirmed that getting her into an art class is the right decision because it has to be easier to develop good habits as an artist now than later.

I've had the privilege of studying with Jocelynn for 4 years and have learned a great deal from her. She is an experienced oil artist and sculptor and uses her many talents to instruct students in a variety of mediums in every class. I began instruction with Jocelynn as an adult learner, kids out of the house, and my only experience was drawing with a No. 2 pencil. Jocelynn has taught me how to see, how to draw, to work with values, with dark and light. She has taught me color theory, and how to use it in a composition. I have learned to work in charcoal and chalk, oils, and pastel pencils. Jocelynn is very reasonably priced, making classes very accessible and enabling me to afford to take two and sometimes three two-hour class per week. My Studio LLC has been a real find for me! Please treat yourself to a visit to Jocelynn's artist and school web pages. Jocelynn's work is available to view and student work is available on the school site. Great for date night, girls night out, family time or honestly anything!…read more I did the pottery date night class and it was so awesome! It starts out with a small cocktail hour (no alcohol, other beverages and finger foods) in the clay studio gift shop. You get some time to look some cool stuff on display and can purchase them too! The actual pottery making was around 90mins, 60mins on the wheel and about 30mins to glaze the piece. There is one main instructor and a few assistant instructors that walk around and help you out. You watch a demo first and then get hands on at making your own bowl! The instructors are really patient and if you mess up, they'll hand you another ball of clay. I screwed up many of my pieces and got super embarrassed but they'd joke and make it fun. You get to pick 2 pieces to keep out of all the ones you make during the 60mins. I ended up with 2 small succulent pots, super excited to put my plants in! The glazing is pretty simple. There are a handful of basic colors to choose from and you just paint them on. Afterwards the studio will fire the pieces and then ship then to an address you designate. We got ours a little earlier than 2weeks so it was a nice surprise! I would definitely go to another session again and may even commit to the longer semester classes...just need to free up time . If you're considering this, definitely do it!

I'm relatively new to doing yoga on any sort of regular basis, but I've been really enjoying the classes a lot. The instructors are knowledgeable, gentle, and regular people. What I mean by the last thing is that they also have difficulty with some of the more difficult poses, so don't feel awkward if you can't do them either. Classes are very relaxing and focuses heavily upon trying a pose, trying a slightly harder pose, and gradually stepping up; stop wherever your comfort level is. This has been good for me as I'm prone to old injuries acting up, so one day I might be able to try everything, other days I simply stop where my threshold is that day and am not pressured at all into going further than I should. So far I've had the chance to take class with 2 different instructors and while each has their own style, I noted that they each permitted the class to communicate personal preferences to them in a manner that didn't 'out' you. For example, most classes, the instructor will offer to put their hands on you to help you get to different positions and request that you communicate your preference on being touched in a non-verbal, subtle manner; such as turning your palms up while the class is in Child's Pose. Overall, the community and mentality is lovely and nurturing. I very much recommend Sol Space if you're new or at the intermediate level of yoga. I'm not sure if people interested in advanced yoga poses would find the classes boring as there are only occasional attempts at very difficult poses (and my knowledge of yoga is limited so what's advanced to me might be easy for others).
