I WAS 28! That sent me into a tailspin that not even Oprah and gin and tonics could cure. None of that sexist nonsense from Tracy, though, who is smart, savvy, calm, and Board certified. She never seems like she's in a rush, and listens to all of my concerns - no matter how crazy or nuerotic. More than once, she has convinced me that, in fact, I do not have cancer. She's also young, African American, and female, a combo which is far too rare in medicine. Go see Tracy, and support cool chicks who are smart as hell!

At 9:35am I walk up to the front desk - 'Is the doctor in yet?'. 'She usually comes in at 9, but she has clinic at the hospital on Tuesdays. 'This would have been good for me to know, as I mentioned yesterday that I have a plane to catch'. I left at 9:45am (she still hadn't arrived). She may be a nice doctor, I've never met her, but I'm not prepared to wait an hour to see her.

Dr. Davenport is the best!…read more I appreciate that Dr. Davenport's medical practice involves actually looking for the root cause of my fertility issues instead of just sending us to do expensive treatments. She focuses on Natural Family Planning, which I really want for my family. I conceived naturally 11 months after meeting her. I learned about the underlying conditions that prevented me from conceiving at first. She answered my questions very fast and even in middle of the night! She gave me recommendations for where to get more affordable medicines and laboratories that were better with my insurance. This helped because I had to do monthly lab visits / blood work up to see if my body responded to the medications/supplements which eventually helped me be at the optimal conception state. She may be disorganized sometimes but she is very thorough and highly knowledgeable. She didn't push anything to us and even gave us reading materials that we can add to our considerations. Her humble clinic is pretty far from where we live but it's worth it. She also does virtual meetings.

For 6 years I saw her and had no problems as I was not using birth control (I am sterilized by choice-never wanted children). This was never an issue until 2015, and suddenly I was an abomination and going against God. I see doctors for medicine based on science, not religion, and for her to start berating me was out of the question unprofessional. I bit my tongue to keep from arguing. After the customary 2 hours wait to be seen as with many times when I came in before and was told she wasn't even there yet. I live 5 minutes away. I could have been working. I was tired of having questions and never being called back when I left messages. When I was called back I was told I needed to make an appointment to see the doctor for a simple YES or NO answer to a question. Ridiculous. This doctor has gone off the deep end and has no respect for patients at all. The final indignity - She doesn't chart so my online records were not available and when I wrote for requesting records sent to my new OB/GYN, they didn't do that either.

Here's my honest review, because I promise you I did not want to be here for this appointment…read moretoday. I needed to have a colpo done, which I hear is horrible but I've had it done once before today and I just don't share the same experience as my friends. I'm happy to say that remained the case today - no pain. My appointment was at 10am. Because I didn't want to go, I had pushed it out of my memory a month ago when the appointment was made. Either way, I'm happy I still had my appointment card to remind me of my appointment. It was laying on my floor and then I remembered 13 minutes til my appointment. I got there around 10:15. It can be confusing to find because this isn't a stand alone Planned Parenthood like I'm accustomed to seeing. It's inside of a larger building that's home to many other offices. PPH is located on the third floor. There's also two waiting rooms at this location. Everyone I interacted with here was pleasant. In particular, a woman named Corissa who took my blood pressure and was able to answer quite a few questions for me. For me, it's really about feeling comfortable, and I felt that here. The doctor and the nurse made me feel comfortable considering I had a colpo and a biopsy. COVID safety protocol was followed - After My appointment was over I dropped my phone on the floor and was offered gloves and sanitizing wipes immediately. Many people are worried about the virus, and for good reason, so I feel I have to add this in in regard to my experience. TIP: if you're low income and don't have any health insurance, I urge you to ask them about Family Pact. Many services, if not all, are covered for you under Family Pact.

However, I was very unhappy about the nurse (short lady with blonde hair) who had to draw my blood! When she put the needle in my arm, I felt a weird sensation down my arm and my hand and fingers started tingling. My arm kind of jerked and I told the nurse my hand felt weird. She said it was because my circulation was cut off. I am certain the nurse hit my nerve with the needle. It has almost been a week since my visit and my arm and hand is still having a tingling sensation. I will not be back here again for this reason! I have had my blood drawn numerous times at other places like Kaiser and Sutter Health and this is the first time I ever had this experience.

Alice is like a GYN GOD!!!! I absolutely love her!!!! I've never met or had a medical professional…read morewho was so caring and nurturing and absolutely concerned about your entire well being like Alice. I found Alice on good ole YELP...of course! And when I read all the great reviews, I knew I needed her in my life. Boy were these reviews right on the money!!!! I needed to find a new GYN because my old provider was on some bullish*t charging me extra money because I "asked too many questions" during my exam causing her to run 10 minutes late. WTF!!!!! What about all those times I waited in the waiting room or played second fiddle to folks who had an emergency?!!? Never the less, I knew it was time to seek someone new. As a women, it's always hard (at least for myself) to find a new GYN because its like going through a divorce and finding a new man. I was so nervous on my first visit with Alice. How was she going to be, how was the facility going to be. Well my visit was the best visit ever!!!! I loved Alice so much I wish I could take her home and share he with all my friends. Not only was she concerned about my wellness exam but we also talked a lot of other life stuff and she gave me some great advice and recommendations for things I was seeking. She was so professional and kind. I didn't feel like just another patient with her. I was so comfortable and felt like I was seeing her for years. I'm always skeptical about not seeing a regular MD but I've learned RNP are the BEST!!!! I would totally recommend Alice!

I HAVE HAD TO UPDATE MY REVIEW FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT EDIT MY OTHER ONE SO HERE IS THE UPDATED…read moreONE BASED ON MORE INTIMIDATION Sutter Health, through Alice Cannan, N.P. (RN License No. 497575) and Sutter team , failed me in a way that should concern anyone who expects patients to be heard and treated with basic care and accountability. I presented with severe, persistent pelvic pain, returned repeatedly for help, and was given round after round of unnecessary antibiotics despite no confirmed infection. The ultrasound showed a thickened endometrial lining that was not called out as it should have been, and the delay in diagnosis caused real harm to my body and prolonged suffering. All of this is documented in the medical record, expert declarations, and the court filings in Alameda County. During the relevant time period, Nurse Alice Cannan was on disciplinary probation with the California Board of Registered Nursing, and that information is publicly available. If I went back six times, that should have been a sign that something was seriously wrong and that someone should have paid attention. I am only updating this because I have once again been threatened by Alice Cannan's lawyer, Denise Billups-Slone, who has gone so far as to contact Yelp's legal team. Yelp legal contacted me and told me I was within guidelines, so I am not being silenced by intimidation. This kind of response is exactly the problem: patients with honest, documented complaints are not heard, are not apologized to, and are instead threatened, buried, and pressured into silence. I am happy to discuss my experience with anyone. Please make your own decision, but I believe patients deserve transparency and accountability, not legal bullying when they speak the truth about negligent care. One would think that if a patient returns six times, someone would actually pay attention. Instead, I got repeated antibiotics, repeated delays, and repeated threats. I will continue to speak honestly about my experience.

I recently tried to schedule my annual appointment, only to discover the news. I have never been so sad to lose a doctor. She is an exceptional listener and has guided me through various life moments with expertise and kindness. I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation for Rhonda, who has always been incredibly kind, supportive, and patient with me. Simply, I cannot express how grateful I am for her care, she truly saved both my life and my daughter's life. I unfortunately had a serious complication where my placenta ruptured, and in that critical moment, Dr. You made the quick and life-saving decision to perform an emergency C-section on me. I can't even imagine the outcome if it weren't for her fast thinking and incredible professionalism. She got my daughter and me through that moment safely and I will forever be thankful. Even after the delivery, when my daughter sadly had to stay in the NICU for two weeks, Yu continuously checked in on us and offered her emotional support. As a first time mom, I was so naive but she guided me through every step with such kindness and patience. She didn't just care for me physically, but emotionally as well. I feel incredibly lucky to have had Dr. Yu by my side during such a vulnerable time. Her dedication, compassion, and genuine care are things I will never ever forget.

I am exactly one year out of robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy at 55 due to a very large fibroid filled uterus, heavy bleeding and bulk symptoms. I am so grateful that Dr. Z performed the procedure. Due to my age being so close to the menopause average and having no real pelvic/ period pain, I continued to choose to "watch and wait" many, many years. Like the metaphor of a frog in boiling water, I had no idea of how much the bleeding and anemia and the bulk symptoms were affecting my life. Before I finally chose to get this procedure all the medications and efforts to lessen bleeding and/or possibly the very large size of my uterus pressing on arteries provoked a pulmonary embolism. Combined with my bleeding uterus had me in the hospital for 12 days trying to manage both. I had a Uterine Artery Embolization while in the hospital that did not last (most likely due to the large size of the uterus and the arteries supplying it.) I had been so concerned and worried about missing time with my child, surgery risks, and the pros of keeping a uterus for my hormones. I ended up with serious health issues requiring hospitalization, years of low energy, missed work, and missed adventures with my child. (And hormone issues that whole time anyway!) The actual procedure and healing time afterwards was surprisingly short and uneventful for being so large. I attribute this to Dr. Z's technical skills. I felt safe and cared for by her and the whole surgical team. Within a day afterwards, I was walking with my husband to grab a coffee. I soon realized how much my bulk symptoms negatively affected my health and quality of life (digestion, sex life, breathing!). Most importantly, the energy I have back (that I had forgotten was my healthy normal) has been profound and life changing to my physical and mental health. I have no regrets about having this surgery, only for having waited so long to do so.

At best, I can say that she's not a trauma-informed provider and seems to be a stereotypical surgeon with zero bedside manner and an ego the size of Canada. At worst, it seems like she may not actually care about her patients at all beyond seeing them as potential stats with which to bolster her career and her own self-image. My experience with her was truly loathsome and I don't wish one like it on any other patient. It took five more years of excruciating pain and going to another KP district, out of her sphere of influence, to get the care that I'd needed for 20 years at that point. To that surgeon, it was perfectly obvious that I needed surgical intervention. All was explained by the crap she later hauled out of me. It took a surgeon willing to be curious, to listen, and to believe what she was hearing. Eve Zaritsky did not have any of those in her at that consult nor in the communication that followed; she was nothing short of a cold, abrupt, impatient, gas-lighting troll. Far from being a healer, she did damage to me that day and later refused to take any responsibility for her words and actions. Suffice it to say, I'm not a fan.
