I was pleasantly surprised to find a salon here that uses non toxic products. What really convinced me to try A Beautiful Reaction was when I saw that the colorists and stylists received on-going education. I believe it's always important to improve one's skills. I also liked the mission statement on the website which says "We want to set ourselves apart by what we call the "BRe Experience." That means from educating our clients about the chemistry in our consultations, customized appointments built around your desires and budget, to the scalp massage at the bowl, and personalized follow up from our guest relations department guaranteeing our work." So I had high hopes going into my appt. Rather than going into detail for the sake of keeping this review on point, let's just say that I walked out of the salon with an experience that left a lot to be desired. I wrote to the owner Kelsey and expressed my dissatisfaction with the services provided and not only did she offer to make things right, but she offered to fix my hair herself. It really says a lot about a business when the owner is not only open to criticism but accepts responsibility. What a night and day experience I had this time. I was given five star service treatment from the offer of complimentary beverages to the warm towel and scalp massage at the sink. I am extremely pleased with the results. I definitely believe in second chances and I am looking forward to my next appointment.

After Tessa colored my hair, toned it and brought me back to the chair, her boyfriends (at the time) mother came in. Apparently she was a higher priority than I was because she no longer wanted to work on my hair. She told me she had to go do her boyfriends mother's hair instead. I was very confused by what was even going on. My hair was soaking wet, I had no idea what it even looked like. So I paid and left. Well when I got home and blow dried my hair is when I found out how awful of a job she did on my hair. She gave me a single color and her "lavender toner" she was raving about had done nothing to tone my hair. My hair naturally is a level 8, it's not so dark that I should have walked out with what I got. I will never return to her and I hope this review helps other ladies from having their hair ruined by Tessa.

I've attempted to contact this business three times by the phone number listed on Google. It is an hour after their listed opening time and nobody is answering - fine, they may be busy. (EDIT: Yelp was the only site that indicated they are closed today.) However, it seems they've simply turned off the phone or are sending calls directly to voicemail as it currently rings once and goes right to a personal voicemail for "Mandy". Their website indicates someone named Mandy works there, however, why is the listed number her personal phone? And if it isn't her personal phone, why is the message a slurred "this is Mandy, leave a message"? Who am I calling? Either there is a strong lack of basic professionalism here or their Google and website info is wrong. Either way, it's left a bad taste in my mouth and I have no desire to use this salon anymore. I shouldn't have to play phone tag with a stranger to get my hair done.
