We used Paella Inc for our wedding reception in November 2012. The problems started before our wedding - we arranged a tasting a few weeks before, but Jonathan forgot the date and had to ask us what it was. When he came, he'd forgotten we'd asked for a tasting, so we didn't have any food before the event. On the day we gave him a very detailed plan and schedule. He ignored that and put the top table in the wrong place, which meant the disco people couldn't set up properly either. Fortunately we got there first and were able to quickly move things around. The food was ok, but was more than an hour late. The serving staff Jonathan hired were poor - we had to tell them to put jugs of water on the tables, they laughed about smashing crockery in the kitchen, they didn't set the tables properly, and at one point one of them served one pudding to one person at one end of the table whilst another person gave a spoon to one person at the other end of the table. We had to tell them to serve tables together and do the puddings and spoons at the same time. Puddings were so delayed we didn't have time for coffee or the wedding cake, and people had to leave before the end of the meal and well before our first dance. The caterers wanted extra payment even though the delays were nothing to do with us, and it took our guests more than 2 hours to clear up the mess Jonathan and his cooking team had left when they went. Jonathan did speak to my wife (he completely ignored me) before he left and promised to email to apologise, but forgot to do that as well. It was so upsetting my wife was complaining in her sleep about it for the first few days of our honeymoon. There was no co-ordination, no following plans, no communication about delays, and no management of the catering staff Paella Inc had brought with them - not an experience I would want anyone else to suffer for their wedding reception. read more
