We ordered our wedding rings (6mm and a 2.5mm) from Wedding Rings Direct. We were at first a little worried about ordering online - but the company offered a money back guarantee (if we didn't have engravings) so this eased our nerves a bit - Also the communication with the company was first class - both over the phone and over email. I got the impression that it wasn't any trouble to contact them and they were more than happy to help. We had trawled high street jewellers but had not found the design we liked anywhere. Placed the order with WRD just before Christmas and received in January Considering the Jewellery industry kind of shuts down over Christmas the speed of which they completed the order was great. So the day we received the rings was quite nerve racking - we had only seen the pictures on the website and what the gentleman had described over the phone. We opened the package and the rings were both placed in this beautiful red wooden presentation box next to each other. They were perfect! The craftsmanship was second to none. Both fit perfectly (we spent about two weeks just opening the box every now and then to contain excitement)- can't wait till the day now when we can wear them everyday - I'm gutted we didn't get them engraved now as I'm sure this would have been fine. We are getting married in the summer, so starting looking for wedding rings at the start of the year as we didn't really have an idea of how long they took to deliver. After searching around shops and websites, we decided to go for Wedding Rings Direct for several reasons, the range, the options, the price, the service and the delivery and I have been very happy with all of them. The range is varied and wide, in price, materials, style, types, sizes, etc. I had never considered there could be such a wide range of wedding ring types and it really got me thinking about different styles. However being a bit of a traditionalist with wedding rings we decided to just go for plain 18 carrot yellow gold rings with a standard court profile for me and a flat profile for the fiancées. The half size availability was useful as I found out that I require one. The option to try a trial ring was useful. I have never worn a ring before and this helped me in several ways. It helped to get the right size, the half size previously mentioned. My father lost his original ring after swimming in the sea (cold fingers shrink). I therefore put my hand in a sink of cold water, found the trial ring size too large and so got a half size smaller for the final ring. It defined the profile I found comfortable as the double comfort I tried wasn't! It is something that will be worn for the rest of your life and so the small expense of the trial ring is a very useful cost and with the return postage envelope already paid for, an easy process. The price is reasonable. I am sure there are other stores out there that provide cheaper rings, but in combination with the other reasons for selection, I was very happy with the costs. The service is very good with response to any emails being answered in a day. Email notifications were provided at the correct time for the status of the order. Delivery seemed quick, although I have no idea of how long rings normally take to be delivered. After thinking they would take a long time and we may be rushing to get them delivered, I am happy that they were delivered in plenty of time and are one thing less to worry about read more

We don't believe in huge mark-ups, and choose instead to price our rings fairly based on the cost of materials. We believe that beautiful wedding rings can be affordable wedding rings. All of our fine jewellery is made in house in our workshop just down the corridor. We have the largest rage of wedding rings in the UK, and are also experts at producing bespoke jewellery.

History

Established in 2000.

Wedding Rings Direct is run by company director Anthony Edwards who set up the company in 2000. Anthony used to own a jewellery shop in the Brighton Laines and later worked in jewellery insurance. He wanted to go back to selling rings but doubted the long-term viability of running a shop with massive overheads and stock issues. He knew that without the overhead costs of running a shop he could provide fairly priced wedding rings that were of excellent quality. As internet shopping was beginning to take off, he and his son, Alex, started Wedding Rings Direct.

My boyfriend, his sister and I were walking around the lanes of Brighton when we happened upon the charming storefront of Regents. I cooed at all of the marvelous antique rings displayed in the window when I happened upon this beautiful Edwardian piece that now resides on my finger. All of the rings here were in marvelous condition and spectacularly displayed! The woman inside was fabulous and very patient, especially when the boyfriend insisted I try the ring and the moment of shock/terror that followed. She checked to see if the ring fit properly and it did! I could not believe the ring fit so well! The woman also guaranteed a resize if I ever needed it. I am very impressed with this store and am so happy that it made a special day even brighter in Brighton!

In terms of the pieces on display, The Witch Ball offers an excellent selection of various prints and maps. With pieces from all over the world, including maps of some ridiculously far flung locales, as well as hundreds of British and Brightonian pieces, there is truly something very any art lover. Everything is kept in excellent condition, and there are so many buried away that a good browse can take up more than the better part of an afternoon. In particular, I recommend going up the very tight staircase for a look-around upstairs: some of the best pieces are hidden away up there. There is little I can complain about in this excellent little antique shop. It is just the right side of pokey: not too difficult to explore, and yet small enough to feel homey and friendly. While the owners can sometimes be a little prickly, don't let that get in the way, as it is such a joy to browse through. If maps and prints aren't your thing, this isn't the place for you; if they are, give yourself a couple of hours on the weekend and take the time to find the piece for you. The reason for the high star rating, primarily, is the originality factor: you truly won't find pieces this good anywhere else, let alone in Brighton.

When I was making a second round and already had a few options, I poped in this jewellery shop. The owner was extremely helpful asked me what I want and asked me to take a seat. When he showed me the options and told the prices, they were over my budget, but then I saw the price tags and then I was shocked, that guy was trying to make me a discount not for a 50 or 100 quid, but for a few hundreds and even then he made additional extra discount so it could fit my budget. It wouldn't sound good, but I also got what should be included - a certificate, insurance, 5 yrs warranty, box and it was resized to fit in half an hour. During that time, I checked again other shops to double check the prices of the similar parameters and style rings and it was true, everywhere else it was few hundred quid more. But I must admit, other shops had it with 50-100 quid smaller price tag on the display. So in overall I saved around 300 quid and had excellent service.

Two sales clerks were working in the small shop, and were quite helpful. One was assisting a woman choose a gift, and the other immediately greeted me with friendly questions and the offer to try things on. Most watches were around the £60 - £80 price range, although there were a few higher end, and a few for the budget conscious. I wasn't quite ready to buy, but I'm still picturing one quite clearly in my mind. It would be nice to have a silver, elegant watch instead of the digital plastic one that's about to hit my rubbish bin.

Silver Scene shops are COMPLETELY different from any other jewellery shop I have been in. There is…read morean incredible range of different stones and styles, and every time I come away from there I seem to have learnt another obscure name! The designs of the jewellery are so varied - you can buy someone some simple, classic-looking dangly earrings in topaz, peridot etc etc for not much more than a tenner, or you can go all-out and get a large, statement pendant (with choice of chain) for much more. Whatever budget you have, you can make someone feel as though they have something special and individual. The staff are friendly and really knowledgable. They will give you an honest opinion, and make helpful (not pushy-salesy) suggestions. The most appealing thing about Silver Scene, I think, is how unique some of the jewellery designs are. And some of the stones I had never heard of before they came along (Porcelain Jasper, Moldavite, Ruby Star Stone, Tourmilated Quartz...the list goes on). I had a bit of a splurge in the Brighton store today so I've uploaded some pics to give you an idea...bear in mind that these are just my taste! There are SO many different styles, and in every stone. I've been a fan of Silver Scene for some time now, and my one word of warning would be that if you go in there to buy a gift for someone then be prepared to come away with a treat for yourself too that you just couldn't resist! ... Oh, and I just looked on their website and it says an online store is coming soon! (I really am not associated with the store in any way!! Just a big fan)

The selection is excellent, from simple silver jewelry to silver inset with various precious gems, and the prices are very reasonable. The pieces do, sometimes, seem a little garish, and if you aren't a fan of silver, you will be left wanting. Where so many jewelers in the Lanes sell very upmarket, expensive items, with little for the casual shopper or the smaller wallet, Silver Scene seems to have found a nice line between expensive and cheap, with items on display within a sensibly large price range. The pieces are mostly tasteful and very pretty, but some of the pieces do seem a little over the top, with a lot of stones added to a simple piece of silver: not my thing at all! There's not really much to say beyond that: there'll be something in everyone's price range, but whether you'll want it or not is another matter... Still, if you're into silver, you could do much worse!

Let's just say there's a reason I'm getting me wedding rings done here! The Lanes area is known for its jewelry shops, most having been around for years and years. If you wander the Lanes windy side alleys, you can find more than one place offering a window-full of pieces, clearly bought and sold frequently over the years. These places all share a slightly seedy look: prices are scribbled by hand on tags, faded suede and velvet couches all of the glittering items... Not exactly confidence inspiring for the prospective ring shopper. This is where Ring stands out: it looks professional. It is clearly run and organised properly, and as such can offer a much more comprehensive service. The items on display in their window are perfectly nice enough, but the real trick comes when you walk in and ask for advice. The service is comprehensive, friendly and informed, and more than you could expect from a jewelers. As stated above, Ring pride themselves on their ability to make whatever the customer wants. Give them some guidelines, and they'll guide you through making your perfect piece. In my case, all I need is a bog-standard wedding ring: we still went through absolutely everything I might need. Although their name might not imply it, Ring also make other bespoke jewelry, just pop in if there's something else you want made. In need of that special piece of bespoke jewelry? We purchased both of our wedding rings from WRD. One was a plain platinum band and the other was a bespoke platinum band shaped (wishbone) to fit a previously bought engagement ring (both were based on rings shown on the website). We used the try-before-you-buy service for the plain band to determine the preferred dimensions and profile, and therefore got exactly the shape and size we wanted. Regarding the bespoke piece, we sent off the engagement ring to have a silver replica made. The engagement ring was then returned to us and the wedding band shaped to fit the replica. The finished item was a perfect fit. The process was very efficient, and the staff were extremely helpful. In addition, the prices were exceptional in comparison to the high street stored we had previously received quotes from about half the price for the plain ring and about a third of the price for the bespoke ring! This is presumably down to reduced overheads. The only price issues we found were that the try-before-you-buy service seemed quite expensive for what it was, and you cannot use discount codes against bespoke pieces. That said, the prices for the actual rings were so good that we really can't complain. Finally, if you are worried about sending off an existing ring in order to have a bespoke ring made to fit or match the existing ring, don't be. We were a little hesitant at first, but it all worked out fine. read more

Ordered my hubby to be's wedding ring from WRD. The rings are unusual and a lot cheaper than the high street. The ring was absolutely gorgeous and much better than the picture on the internet. The customer service was excellent and they kept me informed of how the order was progressing every step of the way. After I ordered the ring I realised I had ordered the wrong ring by mistake. I sent an e-mail (as it was Sunday evening) explaining. They sent me an e-mail on Monday letting me know they had read my message and would change the order with no problem. The ring was made and dispatched within a few days and received the next day by Royal Mail express delivery. I would recommend WRD to anyone for the excellent service and beautiful ring. They are so much cheaper than the High Street but the quality is exactly the same (if not better). I was going to get my wedding ring from a well known High Stret retailer but am now ordering my ring from WRD. I know I will get exactly the ring I want for a fraction of the price. Please don't hesitate ordering from WRD as I can guarantee you will be more than happy. If you have a problem with anything they will go out of their way to sort it out for you. read more

My fiance and I didn't have time to visit a jeweller and wanted to browse wedding rings for our big day. I came across Wedding Rings Direct through an online search engine and thought the site looked very professional with a large range of rings available, all clearly described and with clear pricing for every option. I particularly liked the way the rings could be engraved, which we opted for, and the way there were different levels of weight, design and depth for each ring style. We also wanted matching rings and this was easy to do on the site. The service was very quick and, when the rings arrived, we were thrilled with the quality. I had been a bit nervous about buying something as important as wedding jewellery online as it had the potential to go horribly wrong and we could have ended up with something rather substandard. However, I couldn't have been more delighted with the result and we're looking forward to wearing our rings at the wedding very soon now! I had been looking in local jewellers, including the shop my fiancé purchased my engagement ring, trying to get quotes to have a wedding band shaped to my engagement ring as it's an unusual shape. This seemed to cause many problems and cost the earth, never mind my fiancé's ring! But having found WRD and getting in contact with Kim I was reassured that I was not asking for something completely off the wall!! The other problem we encountered with other shops was the size of titanium ring we were looking for for my fiancé, a Z+3! The sample service was great to allow him to be comfortable with the size and width of the ring, while the choice of rings available in titanium for him was brilliant!! Couple this with the price and it's almost too good to be true!! From the quotation and sample stage the process has been very quick and they have let us know what was happening every step of the way. Having now received our wedding rings, I am delighted and can't wait to wear it!! I was immediately attracted the design of rings on their website. Using the most convenient site constructor, I received my ring cost. Price was in so much attractive that I immediately place the order. A certain proportion of doubts still remained in my head about the quality of products. After receiving an order to hand in term of less than listed on the site, all my doubts vanished. The quality is exactly like the photos on the site. Carp just not what, and do not need. With only a week before the big day we didn't have much time to spend on getting our rings but knew what we wanted. We were a little nervous about trusting an unknown online jewellers but I rang and spoke to a helpful lady in customer services and did a little research and saw that they had good reviews on sites like this so I thought it was safe to proceed. I really liked the fact that we could easily custom order exactly what we wanted and paid extra for our order to be made a priority. We ordered Wednesday afternoon and was told that delivery would be Monday morning. In fact it came Saturday morning!! Very impressed with speed and quality of our order. Absolutely delighted with my wedding ring! and the presentation is first class aswell!! I have very small fingers so was finding it quite hard to find ring my size and of the quality I wanted.
