Edward Reeves Photography is named after the Edward Reeves (unsurprisingly) who founded the shop in the mid 19th century, as he became interested in the new art/science of photography.
Now it is is run by Thomas Reeves, who is Edward's great grandson, which I bet would make Edward quite happy, that is, of course assuming Thomas wants to run the shop, which I have no reason to believe he doesn't, so I'm sure Edward, and Thomas are happy (well not Edward, because he's not here, but you know what I mean anyway).
Anyway. The Shop sells a nice range of local photographic art, and memoribila pieces, as well as some paintings too. One particularly eye catching one, was of Lewes Bonfire from the 19th century, which would be a great little piece of art for any Lewesian to have hanging from their walls.
The company itself provides commerical and private photography for functions, and it's photos look very clean, sharp and well done to me.
Nice shop to go in for that little bit of history, and come out with something else. read more
