Sean Radcliffe and his dad who make up the team at Padre Carpet Care (Sean no longer does Tile Care so the Yelp header is wrong) cleaned our carpets once when we were Bend residents and then the carpets in my mom and dad's house in Bend two other times. When my dad died this year after being at home with 24/7 home care for a couple of years with Alzheimer's and that a couple of years after my mom's death from debilitating illness that had care professionals coming and going, the carpet was badly in need of cleaning throughout. I called Sean to see if he could do the work and it amazed me that he remembered not only me but my parents house well enough that he could describe it to me, in exactly right detail, over the phone so I didn't even need to make the 6 hour drive to let him in to do a walkthrough estimate. I was able to make an appointment for a couple of weeks later when my husband and I were in town to let him in. As is our past experience with Sean, he and his dad showed up on time and did an absolutely perfect job. And here there deserves to be said a word about Sean's dad who is a delightful gentleman with a charming British accent who is probably about my age these days and works with the stamina of a man half that many years old! If you know how to look behind the Yelp filter you'll find another sixteen customers who had five star ratings for and great things to say about Padre Carpet Care. Top notch for the quality of work done and for the integrity with which Sean operates the business. And it was a heart tugging moment when my brother was looking in my mom's address book he saw a yellow sticky note under C (I imagine she intended it for Carpet) and in big letters she had printed "USE SEAN FOR CARPETS " with the business phone number. I had already called him before my brother saw the note but I told him she wanted to be sure that even if she wasn't there her home would be well cared for. I used to think that as long as it was a truck/van mounted carpet cleaner, they were all created equal. I was very wrong. I had previously just chosen the cheapest price I could find and that was sufficient when I didn't have pets or light carpet. Now my new place has light beige carpet, a very picky landlord, and an 80 lb. black lab and geriatric cat. I saw Michele's review on here and then the filtered reviews and decided to try someone new. First of all: Sean is extremely thorough and I know more about carpets, cleaning process, odor elimination, etc. then ever before. He explained how his process differs from some other cleaners and I might butcher this explanation but I'll give it a try: instead of just dumping soap everywhere, pushing it around on the surface and sucking it up, he actually cleans the carpet through agitation which deep cleans it. He is also extremely thorough and detail oriented, and I didn't find a trace of hair around the baseboards when he was finished (and I know there was probably tons of it). I couldn't believe how much time he spent on my 400 sq ft. of carpeted area and this equals less pay per hour for him, but a very good deal for his customers. Best of all, my carpets look better than when I moved in. They had been cleaned prior to my arrival, and cleaned about six months a go. I cannot find a single stain now and there used to be a vast difference between the areas I had put rugs down and those without, but it's all the same light color just like the areas that have never seen a muddy paw print. They look brand new. You can't tell from the carpets that I have pets, and best of all you can't smell that I have pets. As far as the rest of the house goes, I have some work to do to bring it up to par with the now flawless carpet. read more

PADRE CARPET CLEANING IS THE BEST!!! Sean is extremely knowledgeable, he knows carpet inside and out. He was so helpful and informative. We had him clean the carpets as we thought they were probably on their way out (dirty, original carpet in our 2005 house) only to be assured by Sean that these carpets will last a very LONG time yet! He and his assistant spent 4 hours cleaning our carpets. Way beyond expectations, worth the wait! You're doing yourself a disservice by going anywhere else! Due to the very high reviews on here, we contacted Padre to see if they serviced the Prineville area since that is where we will be moving. Sean returned my call very quickly and his response is why I am writing this review. Although they do not service the Prineville area, he very thoroughly went over what to look for when interviewing or hiring someone to clean our new home carpets. He shared specific things to ask for and to make sure we were getting the job done right. He explained in detail the process and this made the process much easier since it was our first time hiring professional carpet cleaners. Had a need to use a carpet cleaner for a small job so I called Padre carpet for the job. Sean the owner called me back and setup a time to do the job. Sean and his helper were friendly and very competent at their job. I know, I use to clean carpets utilizing the same Steam cleaning process. They did everything correctly, even placing mat's under the pressure hose that went over our front lawn. If that's not done, the heat from the hose will burn a nice little path across your lawn. He cleaned two bedrooms and a hall. I'm very satisfied with his work, and will keep his phone number from future use and reference. Thanks Sean for making our carpets look like new again. read more

Sean rocks. I've got 2 dogs who tracked muddy paws around my 4th floor apartment and the hall outside our door (embarrassing). I called him to clean one room of wall-to-wall carpet, a wool area rug, part of a hall common area, and the upholstery on a sofa. Sean was prompt, efficient and did a bang-up job cleaning both the carpet and wool rug. He gave me great advice about taking care of the rugs, informed me that I could clean the upholstery by unzipping the cover (he could have done it and charged me, but he was honest and pointed out it was easy and cheap for me to do myself). I though Sean's price was extremely reasonable, especially considering he had to haul equipment and hoses up the stairwell to the 4th floor. Also considering the attention to detail he took to the cleaning! The carpets and rugs look great! Finally, Sean is a kind and enthusiastic person.
