"The best coffee in Mona Vale", proclaims the sign outside Paddy's Pies. Being completely caffeine addicted, I can't resist such a proclamation, and go there instead of the neighbouring Coffee Club for my java fix for the afternoon.
The setting isn't overly impressive, being located in a suburban shopping centre facing the busy Park Street. It's also quite small, with only one indoor table and a few outside; this is more of a takeaway coffee/patesserie than somewhere you'd sit down for a cuppa. But the guys behind the couter are extremely friendly, and laugh when I exclaim over just how big the coffees are (HUGE!)
For such a large amount of coffee, Paddy's Pies is also very well priced; at $3.60 for a small, it'd be pretty reasonable even if the cup wasn't absolutely massive, which it is.
Given the sheer volume of coffee that I have to consume, I'm stoked that not only isn't it not bad, it's EXCELLENT. Seriously, this coffee is worth the drive from wherever you're located to get - it's excellent. Really smooth, and roasted to perfection, the coffee also comes at the perfect temperature - happy days. read more
